I was at a very low place in my financial life through a series of bad choices in the past year and stumbled across an ad while searching online for a sewing machine (my old machine finally gave out after years of faithful service). I read the York Credit Services ad and thought this might help me, although I was not that optimistic. From my first friendly phone call from Emilie to the final video call with a trustee Maggie and the most appealing Scott in between, I have been treated like royalty and not like the financial failure I felt myself to be. They have pulled me up from the depths of despair to where I can see some relief from huge debt load. Thank you so much for all you have done--the sun shines a little brighter around here today because of York Credit Services and associates.

I was hesitant at first contacting the firm, but after the initial meeting I decided to go for it. Their credit consultants explained to me the benefits of debt consolidation and all of my options. We were able, through a consumer proposal to reduce my debt by 75%. I am very thankful and hope that this step is a first of many of getting my finances back on track.

I will give my entire experience 5 stars because the credit expert was kind and took the time to explain how a proposal works. He took the time to address any concerns I had and he made sure I was fully informed before I signed any papers. That being said I am now on the right track to getting back to living instead of hiding from my problems. Now I am apart of their proposal program feeling confident and at ease.

Coming to terms with the fact that I had a dept problem was extremely hard. I developed the courage to call and spoke with Emilie-- Emilie was the most patient, understanding, helpful, kind person I have ever met. Going with York Credit Services to get my debts taken care of was probably the best decision I've made this whole year. Before I reached out to them in June I have been trying to pay off my total debt of roughly 30k for over 2 years. During that time, and after quite a few thousands of dollars wasted by making the minimum payments to all 5 of my creditors, I finally began searching for a solution online - I've spoken to 3 different debt relief companies, and 3 more trustee firms that were in my area. The trustees mostly demanded I come in to the office and refused to have any kind of meaningful conversation over the phone with me, after I ended up visiting two of their offices, the amounts I was quoted seemed unreasonable - each firm wanted to get me into a 20k proposal, while I only owed 30. After trying to get an explanation of why they're quoting me such a high number, the only thing I was really told was that that's what was fair to the creditors in the trustee's opinion, and that I could afford the 20k settlement. The fact that I could afford it (barely) didn't seem like a good enough reason to pay that much.
I contacted York Credit same day I left second trustee firm's office, the guy I ended up reaching was Art, and he was very helpful right from the start - he explained all of my available options, even ones not offered by their company, and most importantly, he actually took the time to explain to me how the proposal numbers are calculated. I ended up filling a proposal with York Credit's assistance, and all of my debts were settled for just over 11k. The trustee they work with was very nice as well, and didn't just brush off my concerns like the previous two tried to do. All in all, this was a very positive experience, I would certainly recommend them if my own friends and family were ever in need of assistance.
