When I was suddenly suspended from work in May without an explanation, I was completely lost. I hadn’t heard of YourMate Union, but with no other support available, I joined. What a cracking decision that turned out to be.

From the outset, the team were responsive, professional and reassuring. Having worked in HR in the past, I thought I understood disciplinary processes pretty well - but being on the receiving end of one is a very different experience entirely.

Dave represented me throughout and was exactly who I needed: calm, experienced and straight-talking. He listened, explained his advice clearly and, crucially, reined me in when my instinct was to go out all guns blazing.

A scheduling clash meant Dave couldn’t attend my preliminary meeting, which wasn’t ideal. However, we’d discussed my case thoroughly beforehand, so I felt prepared and comfortable attending alone. We debriefed afterwards and stayed in touch throughout the process. In fact, Dave stayed in touch with me more than my employer did so I'm truly thankful for his support during that period.

At first, dismissal for gross misconduct felt like a very real possibility. Ultimately, after ten weeks of suspension, my employer concluded there was no case to answer as the allegations made anonymously against me were deemed to be vexatious in nature and had no factual or evidential basis. The matter was dropped without a formal disciplinary hearing, and I began a phased return to work the following week - literally the best outcome I could have hoped for, but one I never thought I'd actually achieve.

I can’t know how things would have gone without Dave, but his practical advice got me back into my box, helped me stay focused, which ultimately meant I was able to avoid reacting in ways I probably would have regretted later.

Communication was prompt, the level of contact felt right, and I always understood the reasoning behind his recommendations, even if we didn't agree. All in all, an overwhelmingly positive experience during a genuinely difficult time. I’ve recommended YourMate to plenty of people, some of whom have since joined. A big thank you to Dave and the whole team.

Disgusting customer service and unauthorized charges — Stay away!

DO NOT use this company. I paid for a 3-month subscription, and halfway through the period, I requested to cancel the upcoming auto-renewal. They refused, claiming I couldn't cancel because I had already used their services—even though I was only asking to cancel the next billing cycle! A customer should be able to cancel future renewals at any point during their active plan.

​Despite sending multiple follow-up emails explicitly asking to cancel, they completely ignored my requests FOR 6 MONTHS . To make matters worse, today they went ahead and charged my card anyway—and they actually charged me TRIPLE for what i needed.

​They refuse to answer emails and simply squeeze money out of customers without consent. This is a total scam and an absolute rip-off. Save your money and stay away!

Yourmate Union is the sure plug to settle workplace issues. This union was recommended to me by a friend turned sister, when I thought I can't win as I had no union before I was dismissed from work unfairly, but in a short time my representative Mr Martin put a lot together and I won it. It was really tough but I won. I recommend this union 💯. The professionalism was fab! A thorough statement that opened up room for thorough investigation!
