Responsive, helpful, efficient
Thomas Simpson was my point of contact for the actual NVQ. He was great and really made it all run really quickly and efficiently. He was helpful and personable, and replied to emails promptly.
The centre staff were also attentive and helpful. The whole process was really straightforward. Thanks XS

Without Craig there’s no way I would have got through my NVQ. I started off doing my NVQ with another assessor and I genuinely didn’t think I’d ever complete it. However once I changed to Craig, his patience and availability when I needed assistance enabled me to complete it. I can’t thank him enough

Having everything online is very convenient!
I was a bit sceptical at the beginning about having everything online, including the observations, but it’s a huge help to have it that way. It helps you get quicker through the process, but remember that it depends on you not on your assessor how quick you get this done.
What I liked is that on the online profile created for your NVQ contains a lot of info and examples of what kind of pictures you need, and how to prepare for obs, together with checklists and useful guidance from the assessor.
I don’t know what other course providers are like as I’ve only used XS for my NVQ, but I can definitely recommend XS Training.
The app used for picture uploading isn’t great (or maybe wasn’t great on my iPhone) but you can get online without the app, which is what I did, sometimes even on my breaks at work when I was uploading 1-2 pictures that I managed to take on that occasion - again - having everything online it’s an advantage.
Overall good experience that helped me learn a lot of things about electrics and about myself. And by the way, English is my second language, so I was a bit scared that I will be struggling to communicate with my assessor but it wasn’t the case as he was patient enough with me, so if English is not your first language don’t let that put you off.

Really professional company, made it so easy to build my NVQ portfolio. Very attentive and no stone unturned with regards to getting the most out of what was needed. Guided clearly throughout hints and tips went a long way with photo evidence. Highly recommend and have in fact already recommended to colleagues who are now using XS Training. Especially Craig Wiltshire my assessor - always positive and encouraging but also ensuring high standards are met

The portfolio system is very poor it…
The portfolio system is very poor it was hard to upload everything sufficiently. My assessor Muztaba was extremely helpful and guided me through it.

We get a lot of complementary comments from people saying how much they liked it but we appreciate that not everyone is the same and different people have different/preferred ways of learning. We do update and amend out Portfolio System (slightly) from time to time so I will check with Muztaba to get his feedback on what you had problems with. I've done experience worker nvq with XS training, i had a great experience with the college, they made it very clear and easy to access information and resources, my assessor Tom Simpson was helpful and guided me throughout the NVQ, i gave a 5 star review as XS training made an online portfolio and a lot of videos for users to follow, i am really busy with work but with the resources provided and guidance from the assessor it worked out just fine for me, i would recommend XS training and Tom Simpson for others but the learners need to put on some work and take the NVQ seriously, i will be back for the AM2E as well as i am a happy customer
