Stayed in Villa Victoria in Lanzarote. Brilliant. Booked through Airbnb and the hosts Carla & Manuel went above and beyond. Great newly refurbished accommodation, superb resting areas inside and outside, great décor, and great functional kitchen facility along with an outside lit bar-b-q area. Cleaning team were great and fresh towels every 3 days or so. Swimming pool was clean but if anything a little cold for us but asked for it to be heated. During our stay the table tennis table arrived which was a great addition. Get a car as it's useful to get around the island. Really home from home and would visit again! A credit to all involved.

A crazy experience and not a good one. Booked the car through Ryanair and took AXA extra insurance out for covering the excess. On collecting the car I was told I need extra insurance costing £217 to cover excess and that the AXA insurance will be hard to claim again and doesn't cover everything!! I refused. Then he suddenly put the payment machine in from of me with £22.50 on it. I asked what that was for and he said for Diesel tax. I said I asked for a petrol car so I'm not paying for than. Suddenly, he said he had head office clearance not to charge me. I walked away not paying anything extra but whilst I was there two other customers got stung. The car checkout form showed no damage but when I inspected it it has over 20 marks on it which I noted down. On return, nothing was checked and I got my deposit of £1500 back without quibble. There is a hard sell on extras that really lets down Goldcar otherwise it is, at best, a below average rental company!!
