Easy to deal with
The application was handled through my vet who was aware of the application process with this company which was very reassuring. Once I submitted all the documents (as this was a first claim) everything was handled and refunded correctly.

Amazing service
Amazing service. Any time I speak with them on the phone their customer service agents are very friendly and upbeat.
Recently had to put in claim as my dog required surgery and the service was second to none they processed the claim within the time frame they set out on their website and processed the funds very quickly I was delighted with service from start to finish, easy to deal with, never had any issues with them.

Very disappointed
Very disappointed! This is a company that I will definitely not trust to be genuine and honest when it comes to help during a critical situation, if one is to happen to our pets. Thankfully we had a minor issue which did cost us a lot, like the review below they have told us that the ear infection was a pre existing condition which is not true and there is absolutely no evidence of this. Although the day before making this decision they asked me for vaccinations card from the breeder, dating back 3 years?? all of the vaccinations and appointments are up to date, therefore any previous history is absolutely irrelevant especially that our pet was 100% healthy. They have then followed with a statement that they don’t cover any skin condition because our pet was just over 2 years when we insured her. In my opinion this absolutely absurd, it is even more frustrating that we have been warned multiple times that they are terrible at paying in case something did happen and will avoid it by all means. I genuinely wish I took this advice and saved myself stress and frustration. Lastly and most Importantly we are very lucky that it was not a serious situation and we can now place the health and well being of our precious pets in hands of a trustworthy, honest and professional company, which is certainly not this one.

We have held pet insurance with pet insure for the last 11 years since our
Rough collie Bressie was a pup.
We have found dealings at all times excellent particularly in recent times when Bressie was not at his best and we had to submit claims they were processed efficiently and without fuss.
We also received very nice emails expressing sympathy when he died
which were much appreciated.
I would recommend petinsure without hesitation as a company to insure your pet.

They will look for ridiculous reasons…
They will look for ridiculous reasons not to honour the claims. In my case, they decided that an ear infection was a pre-existing condition, as it had happened on the 14th of the 14 days stand down period after the start of the policy, and then again basically 8 months later.
They must have felt really smart contacting my vet back and forth and finding this loophole to avoid paying just a few quids. What a great use of the company's time and resources! And in return, losing a customer for a lifetime. What a deal. Kudos to anyone who thought this was a wonderful idea.

TERRIBLE!!!
BE VERY WARY IF INSURING A RESCUE PET. We have insured our dog (a rescue) since we got her at 2 years old. She is now 6 and needs a procedure. They are trying to get out of paying for it as we don't have her clinical history from birth!!! If this is the case then why did we bother insuring her as we can never make a claim!!!

Highly recommended
I recently had to avail of the policy I had purchased due to a freak accident my one year old dog had at Christmas. I can only say they were so helpful from start to finish and kept me updated all the time. They made a very stressful situation a lot easier and with very little paperwork for me to complete. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone else who needs pet insurance, something I am very glad I have.

We insured our now passed dog with petinsure.ie, they were so lovely and so helpful the years we had Honey, a brilliant and kind customer support team that were so quick to answer the phone and asked how she was every year we renewed, the renewal process was easy and the rates they charge given the ease of the claims process is little to none, thank you all so much

Minimal cover
This is the first time I got pet insurance. The dog is 4 years old and we got him when he was 2. The policy covers very little because of his age and lack of history.

The policy covers unexpected veterinary cost for illness and injury. Unfortunately, based on the pets age at the inception of the policy, there are certain exclusions and limitations on cover as discussed with you with the agent you dealt with. You can submit claims for anything aside from these listed conditions for review by our claims handlers.
If you wish to discuss the details of the cover further, do not hesitate to let us know on 021 202 9119. Please also be advised that the policy comes with a 21 day cooling off period.
