I've recently upgraded our smoke detectors, as the house was 11 years old it was time to replace and upgrade our old Aico smoke detectors, the new 3000 series bases are backward compatible with the existing bases, 10 minutes and both were swapped out.
You couldn't get any easier, great thinking by a great company.

I have been fitting Aico alarms for many years with no problems unlike other manufacturers alarms which I get called out too

As an Aico installer I am impressed by the reliability of their products, haven’t ever had a customer complain about a faulty unit and love the constant product development.

Aico’s products are top quality and function well with plenty of optional solutions and models to cater for the installation. Every alarm is tested, not batch tested like other manufacturers. Installation is straight ward since Aico support installers with a unique training program with huge resources for training, regulation changes and telephone advice and assistance for questions. Their products can be more expensive than rivals but what price is peace of mind.

Aico are more than just a great smoke alarm company, the excellent training days are just superb. The customer service is to be envied around the globe.

As an installer of Aico Alarms for many years the service and support I have received is impeccable. I would definitely recommend these products to anyone who is looking to install a system into there property.

I’ve used Aico for many years and found they are a very reliable. They are not the cheapest on the market but you can’t put a price on a life saving piece of equipment.

From an engineering point of view I've dealt with Aico for a long time. Products are good and support has been great.

Top products and a forward thinking approach to business

I have been using these smoke alarms for more than 20 years and am now on my 3rd set of replacements. One particular alarm has become sensitive (within 2 years of replacement), so I called AICO who advised that it was probably a spider causing a false positive. I should use a hairdryer to clear it and then it would be fine. Else there is a 5-year warranty and it would be replaced.

I did this and it still went off without there being a fire and now AICO tell me that this is due to contamination and it is my problem, without any investigation of whether the device may have developed a malfunction.

To ensure that that there was nothing inside, I opened the device up, only to be told that I had now invalidated my warranty.

Very poor customer service.

Recently bought the smart link and I’ve had nothing but problems setting it up. Terrible software and it doesn’t work with AICO smoke alarms. Very poorly designed and ridiculously expensive

The customer service help was excellent when we had problems with our Aico smoke/heat alarm system continuously activating with no apparent reason. They checked the units for me and reported back promptly.
Four stars only because the units are difficult to remove from the base plates and identifying a fault required them to open up the units at the factory. However I was very impressed with the prompt and courteous response I received.

One of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. From the initial first conversation to wrapping the call, Kelly was absolutely fantastic. She talked me through all the options regarding an issue I had with one of their products - turns out it was probably a house wiring issue which I shall get an electrician to fix.

In any case she couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful and I would have no hesitation in calling them again for any additional support needed. First class service all the way - thank you Kelly!

Had an issue with a Co2 alarm which was nearing its 5 year warranty. Extremely helpful staff arranged for a replacement unit straight away with no quibble. Company extremely easy to contact and all staff extremely polite.

Excellent products with great support for installers via their expert installer scheme.
Are the only smoke/heat/CO alarms I will recommend and fit for my customers.

We have 8 of the Ei261 carbon mon alarms. just found out its discontinued! So no chance of getting a replacment sensor (just to see the life of the unit out!!)
Bad after sales. Person on the phone, showed no interest in my Delmer.

Contacted them asking if their were remote access settings to turning off the audio and optical features. Turns out that can't be done and the alarms can easily be compromised. Also one of the representatives had said the data collected can be transmitted at the touch of a button but didn't say where? Surely this is a breach of some kind if your giving an optical and a audio device that can't be controlled. At the very least you should be able to disable some features.
