Horrendous.

Our experience with Air India was exceedingly disappointing. The service was remarkably unhelpful, as our flight was delayed not just by a few hours, but by several. We received no communication or notification regarding the delay, leaving us uninformed and unable to enjoy our time in Goa. This situation was particularly distressing, as we were forced to remain in the airport lounge, with staff denying us access to a hotel. We were among those stranded, and we endured over 20 hours at Mumbai airport. The experience was appalling; the Air India manager was ineffective and, regrettably, displayed a lack of respect towards the passengers, as if we had not purchased tickets. Furthermore, the manager exhibited a troubling disregard for our plight, choosing to ignore the passengers and walk away. It was a disheartening ordeal, spending 20 hours in an airport with minimal service, having to sleep in an armchair. This situation was compounded by the poor condition of the aircraft. The plane was so outdated that the seats were immovable and did not recline. Additionally, the legroom was severely limited, making it nearly impossible to position even one leg comfortably in front of oneself, let alone move them. The in-flight entertainment screens were horrible, with one failing to power on entirely. The nine-hour and thirty-four-minute flight was a distressing experience, exacerbated by the overhead lights flickering erratically. We will never ever travel with this airline again. ( If I could put 0 stars I could but there isn't a option. )

Smooth sail, mostly clean, racist air steward no inflight entertainment.

LHR-BOM 9pm 20.6.24 flight was clean, toilets weren’t. No in flight entertainment for our row of seats, which was fine as it was a red eye flight anyway.

Air steward Manishkumar, was smiley, but was discriminatory, we were the only non-indians on the flight, and we watched him offer everyone else to move to seats with entertainment, skipped us and came back to us when everyone else declined. The same with food options, everyone else got multiple options but he didn’t give us a choice. He also didn’t bring us or forgot to bring our drinks. They were very short staffed.

We were just happy the flight was only delayed by 30minutes and everything else was smooth and painless.

WORST EXPERIENCE
27th of january 2024 i went from Copenhagen to Bangkok. I upgraded to business class in copemhagen airport. It took 4 minutes to pay. Unfortunately i got downgraded again by the gate. My seat was broken. The agent assured me to get my money back. Now it is june and i still did not received anything. Going back and forth with support, agent, care team…..30 automated emails….appoligy after apploligy. All of them simply dont care. Just noice and frustration. Never Air India again.

At Gatwick Airport, Air India staff doesn't support for Unaccompanied minor category booking child. The most poor service I have ever found in my life. Don't ever book Air India ticket for Unaccompanied minors.

Bedre end forventet

Havde frygtet det værste efter at have læst andre anmeldelser, men blev overvejende positivt overrasket.

Jeg fløj fra København til Delhi og fra Delhi til Melbourne. Flyene var slidte, men rene, og der var mange toiletter ombord. Personalet var venlige og hjælpsomme, maden var fin og alle tider blev overholdt.

Eneste minus var at underholdningsanlægget ikke virkede på min plads på nogen af de to flyvninger, hvilket var lidt træls når begge varede 7-10 timer.

Horrible! Downgraded my class without notice. no refund and no customer service support. Have to put in a ticket and no response. They are the same as old managment just made a glitering logo. thats all.

Air india service are getting better

Air india service are getting better. I travelled last time in the new A350 its really amazing. I hope Airindia will change its customer view point. I am writing this review to get into your notice, in Airindia App I can't check in with OCI. It's only with Visa holder can checkin. If anyone reading the trustpilot of Air india staff please convey this msg to their IT head or someone who can check the App or Web checkin. With OCI card holders we can't check in.

Worst. Airline. Ever.

We had a flight on Air India departing Delhi on a Saturday at 15:20, supposed to arrive in San Francisco at 18:20
Air India first changed our flight just hours before departure, they then changed it again later in the day. The flight was not cancelled for weather, war, or acts of God. No reason was ever given.
After the changes, we were finally boarded on a different flight departing Monday afternoon, 2 days later. All during this time, Air India didn't offer any kind of compensation; no meals, no lodging, no nothing. We had to stay at a hotel 2 nights at our own expense.
We wrote to Air India and explained the situation, asking they pay for the hotel and meals. They wrote back "In the case of your booking to SFO we humbly convey to you that you were given alternate flight and that you travelled till your final destination". NO mention of the 2 nights at a hotel we had to pay for. If they would have delayed us for a month, would we still be liable to pay for our food and lodging!?!

Long haul flights are never fun

Long haul flights are never fun, but 8 hours in an Air India is like torture.

In-flight entertainment doesn’t work.

The food is terrible. I pre-ordered a vegan option, which on the first flight was a small fruit salad (others were provided with a wrap). On the long flight I was given a yoghurt (milk based), a croissant and diary butter. The flight attendant did not seem to understand that butter wasn’t vegan. I checked the pot before eating, but I did see two other customers trying their yoghurt before returning it to the attendant. I hope they asked for the vegan option by choice rather than any allergy issues. My non-vegan fiends didn’t do much better, and on a walk through I would estimate that around 75% of the food was just thrown away.

The cabin is cramped and the air con drips down the back of the chairs. One of the lockers appeared to have been melted at some point.

There were no pre-takeoff landing checks made, belts etc, and a customer had to close all the overhead lockers while we taxied.

The flight attendants just hid at the back of the plane for most of the time; I assume this is so they can avoid dealing with complaints.

Apparently they are replacing/refurbishing the planes this year. In the meantime I just hope they are safe to be used. I wouldn’t get on one again even if it was free!

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

I had booked my flight 1 month back,i wanted to change the return date which was not possible in manage booking section.Hence i reported case online and they reverted to call back on the customer service,From past 1 week trying to reach customer service where continuesly cmg error,pls try later.No revert from the customer service and i really do not know how to contact the airline

Daylight Robbery by Air India

Well, what can say, air india, you are truly the worst airline and worst ever customer service of a major airline.

You are set up to make (steal) as much money as possible from your customers, regardless of any case-case situation.

We are a newly married couple (came from UK to get married in Chennai). We had booked from LHR to MAA; MAA to DEL and DEL to LHR, as wanted to honeymoon in Agra for four days.

One of us was ill, so couldn't make our 0600 hrs flight from Chennai to Delhi on 06 Jan 2024, and having arrived at the airport at 0550 hrs, nevertheless, and went to a check in desk and they said they can't check us in, despite explaining our predicament.

We then approached the ABSOLUTELY USELESS air india's 'so-called' customer service (I think air india should be barred from and stripped of using the customer service 'SHI*TE').

There were two air india customer service booths; in one of them, they were all busy with their phones, and the other window, there was so much activity, but no one helping unless you banged on the door before they let you in.

The staff first said that they can get us on the next flight to Delhi, and after wasting more than one hour with staff who had absolutely no clue as to what they were doing, the staff said that if they change the booking for the Delhi flight, it will also affect the Delhi to London flight, meaning that it will alter our baggage allowance; so air india's first hit robbing money from passengers.

We were told that it would cost another £600 each to have it changed. THIS HAS TO BE ABSOLUTE DAYLIGHT ROBBERY AIR INDIA!!!.

As we were presented with a very difficult situation, we decided to go ahead with it, only then to be told that they cannot change it as it was booked through an agent in the UK. So, another money-grabbing tactic by air india.

So, we decided to make alternative arrangement ourselves by booking two tickets MAA-DEL with air india for the 0950 hrs flight at a cost of Rs. 7500 each.

Air india staff promised us there would be no issued taking our DEL-LHR flight on 10 Jan.

We arrived in Delhi and on 07 Jan we checked the status of our itinerary on airindia wesbite and it showed our MAA-DEL as 'flown'.

Also, on arrival in delhi, we approached the air india desk (another ABSOLUTE USESS SET UP THAT SHOULD NOT EXIST AS IT OFFERS ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE/ ASSISTANCE), and they checked and said that our booking was all OK and that we should have no issues with our DEL-LHR flight on 10 Jan. WHAT ABSOLUTE SHI*TE STATEMENT WAS THIS AS THE STAFF HAD NOT CHECKED ANYTHING PROPERLY AND SIMPLY TOLD US WHAT WE WANTED TO HEAR AS AIR INDIA'S PLAN WAS TO SCREW US DRAMATICALLY FOR EVEN MORE MEGA MONEY.

We tried to check in for our DEL-LHR flight on 09 Jan, but the check in page said that 'we cannot check you in, please go directly to the airport check in counter.

We thought due what has happed with out MAA-DEL flight, that perhaps online check in was not available.

So, on 10 Jan (day of our flight to LHR), we went to the airport 4 hours before our flight and went to the check in desks. Check in clerk said that a penalty needs to be paid and that we should go to the USELESS AND WORTHLESS AIR INDIA CUSTOMER CARE DESK YET AGAIN.

They customer care desk couldn't give a SHI*TE AS ALL THEY COULD SEE WAS DOLLAR SIGNS PRINTED ALL OVER US, ONCE AGAIN READY TO SCREW US FOR MEGA MONEY YET AGAIN.

Despite our plea and explanation (so we made our own way to delhi on 06 Jan, and therefore we presented ourselves at delhi for our London flight) and of what we've been told the USELESS AIR INDIA STAFF AT CHENNAI AND THE CONFIRMING THAT IN DELHI, THE AGENT COUDN'T GIVE A SHI*TE AT ALL AND INSISTED WE NEED TO PAY RS. 35000 EACH IF WERE TO BOARD THE LONDON FLIGHT.

There was no logic, rhyme or reason for extortionate DAYLIGHT ROBERY BY AIR INDIA. We have not caused air india any logistical issues, and it was not a connecting flight to LHR either. So, where is the logic in screwing us out of yet another RS.70000, as we presented ourselves for our LHR flight.

Yet again, we had no choice (like we had no choice MAA-DEL flight), and had to bear the brunt once again and paid Rs.70000, as the agent just remained ABSOLUTELY SILENT AS THEY COULDN'T GIVE A SHI*TE, AS THEY KNOW FOR VERY WELL THAT UNLESS WE PAID THE PENALTY, WE WILL BE DENIED BOARDING.

So, we had no choice but to pay as we had to get back to the UK, to return to work.

NEVER AGAIN AIR INDIA, EVEN IF YOU ARE THE LAST AIRLINE STANDING. FAMILY, RELATIVES AND FRIENDS ALL WARNED US OF AIR INDIA, BUT IT WAS OUR FAULT FOR NOT HEADING THEIR ADVICE.

WHAT AN ABSOLUTE SHI*TE SET UP OF AIR INDIA, WHO THING THEY ARE PROVIDING AN EXCELLENT SERVICE (AND YOU ARE NOT EXACTLY CHEAPER THAN OTHER AIRLINES). YOU SHOULD BE ABSOLUTELY ASHAMED OF YOURESELVES.

WELL DONE TO TATA FOR TAKING OVER AIR INDIA AND SCREWING YOUR CUSTOMERS OUT OF EXTROTIONATE AMOUNTS OF MONEY.

Upgraded 4 seats to business class a…

Upgraded 4 seats to business class a few days before the flight but only one was confirmed. Our father had been in hospital whilst his stay in India so upgraded seats.
When at the desk in Amritsar the lady said only one seat was confirmed for my brother and did not show any care towards my dad in a wheelchair and to look into these upgrades. We asked if we could buy again and she said there were none available!
We told her the seat will be for our dad and that we would need access to keep an eye on him as he was quite anxious so the lady said she would move our seats near the front and would be together.
Well, when we boarded we found out that 2 seats in business class were available and our seats were not moved up and were not together!!

Absolutely messed our journey home, customer service was trash and our payment for the upgrades are still showing as PENDING!!!! What an absolute joke! No care or concern for their passengers.
Would not recommend! Would go with Emirates!

Avoid if you can.

Flight delayed by 2 hours with no explanation. The check in desk had a sign to say we’re entitled to an airport voucher but no member of staff was available post security. There was a extension number for air india - but no answer after 30 minutes of trying.

The service during the flight was awful - airline crew were rude and tea/coffee was only served to the back rows of the plane.

Emailed customer services to ask for reimbursement for refreshments with proof of purchase receipt - this was refused as well.

Would avoid air India at all costs.

Terrible experience of delayed…

Terrible experience of delayed boarding, the screen and the USB (of whole row) not working for London to Delhi direct flight.

I helped to save life a patient onboard and even prevented emergency landing. But no letter of thanks or appreciation.

I was given a complaint number 18658396
for the problems I faced but never any reply till 7 months.

Better to avoid it.

Thieves, liars and racists - someone should revoke their license

Flight to Bangkok with a stop in Delhi, departure at 21 from Milan -> after having postponed the departure little by little due to a breakdown, at 2am they announced that the flight wouldn't leave and that we had to go to the hotel.
The next day they informed us that the plane would leave at 16 (this too will have a delay) but this would only take us to Delhi, there wasn't the rest of the trip. This goes against Indian immigration laws as no ones had a VISA... but they didn't care about this and neither that we paid for a trip to Bangkok.
We reached our destination 24 HOURS DELAY only thanks to Malpensa operators who have found a seat on a flight with ANOTHER COMPANY. Air India therefore did not provide me with the service for which I paid more than 1,200 euros.
In addition to the immense delay and the proposal to abandon 150 paying people midway in violation of immigration laws, I would like to point out:
* total disorganization in everything (they announce the hotel at 2am, we'll touch the bed at 6am - they make us load our suitcases on the bus and then let us off because there wasn't enough space in that hotel - they make us go back to the airport without first organizing how to distribute passengers on other flights). The two Indian managers on duty on August 6, 2023 at Malpensa, a man and a woman, are the greatest demonstration of incapacity, uselessness and inefficiency I have ever seen.
* Continuous lies denied even by the airport ground staff, who scold them in front of passengers for these shameless lies
* Lack of assistance - the day after departure, while the ground staff were looking for a solution, nobody from AirIndia was present as well as they didn't even offer us ONE CHAIR.
* Racism - the two useless managers were only concerned with managing the Indian passengers who in fact, magically, were the only ones who knew about the buses to the hotel and had reached them hours earlier. In addition, they were worried only to reach Delhi.
Air india has handled hundreds of passengers including elderly and children like animals...air india deserves bankruptcy and license revocation

Bad review never lie...

I was initially very comfortable booking our flight through booking.com... but I became wiser.
The kind of inefficient and ineffective customer service you have to look for for a long time. The airline canceled the 1st part of the outbound trip. Neither booking.com nor the airline (airIndia) showed any interest in helping us rebook an outbound flight.

Shame on AirIndia.

Scant respect for customer

Booked flight from London to Goa International airport only to be told that after 4 weeks and 10 days before the journey that the arrival airport has been changed to MOPA airport. The airline continue its legacy as an airline that has scant respect for its customers. The 2 airports are not anywhere close to each other and all Air India customer service can do is shrug their shoulders.The airline should definitely have known for a long time that this change was imminent but preferred to keep the customers in the dark and shove us onto replacement flights for which preferred seating is unavailable and the timings don't work any more. Air India ought to understand that some of us, well - make that most of us if not all of us, utilise our time and plan better than their employees! The airline continues to be a national shame!
