An excellent garage.

I am extremely happy and grateful for the work carried out on my L405 Range Rover, by Altrans. I was given a very reasonable quote, and the work was completed as advised by them, to a good standard. I had two other quotes for the same work by other well known garages in the area, however Altrans were considerably cheaper, and I liked their no nonsense approach. No fuss, a calm friendly environment, I felt very secure as their customer.
I will be going to them for all my vehicles maintenance.

Broken wiring

Drivers door panel switches and heater stopped working, i was concerned it was a bcm issue within an hour broken wire diagnosed, had to book a second visit as their Toyota wiring schematic was incorrect, fault repaired.
They are courteous, professional and competent, highly recommend

I took an audi q2 in for coding in a…

I took an audi q2 in for coding in a new module, arrived at 9am got told to come back at 11am. When I arrived back to collect car I was told they weren't able to code the new module so if they haven't completed the works you shouldn't have to pay right? Well not with this lot I had Richard come in who stormed into reception and shouted without making any sense I even said to the reception staff what did he just say and none of them could understand any sense of it, Anyway the reception staff said I have to pay £200 otherwise I can't have my car back... It's total nonsense they made me pay for work that wasn't successfully completed. Do not use this garage!!

Edit: why are you lying saying I was made aware that if I had the incorrect module I would be charged? You basically wouldn’t give me my key back unless I paid for work that wasn’t successful.

You were advised before the work started if your module, you provided, is faulty or will not code to the vehicle, the time the technician spends is still chargeable. Do you work for nothing?

We booked the vehicle on 19th August for moving house in London for my son on 4th September. On 3rd September at 16:56, I had a phone call from Alltrans telling me they didn’t have a vehicle for us.
“What am I supposed to do we have parking spaces booked, people have booked holiday from work, landlords had been notified,
keys ready for exchange “
Alltrans said “Sorry we’ve got a tipper, but that’s not ideal is it?”
I shall leave my response to your imagination 😤
At 17:35 Enterprise saved the day a slick and professional company.
Alltrans hasn’t contacted me to apologise or offerer anything in the way of compensation.

Berlingo went in for turbo issue and…

Berlingo went in for turbo issue and engine light on, turns out turbo had failed and faulty glow plugs. Then glow plug tip snapped off on removal and fell in the cylinder, they had to take whole engine apart and replace various things. Was kept up to date and advised before any work was carried out. They had the car for about 2 months in all (not a complaint), and I used one of their curtosy cars a week here and there which was also a great help. When it came to paying the bill I set up their option of payment assist and made an arrangement with Gill to pay off the remaining balance, so they were very accommodating and helpful. Car is back on the road now and touch wood it won’t need to go back to them for a while now hopefully!

Highly Recommend Saab Specialists

I booked my Saab in for a full service. Have received a detailed invoice of exactly what was completed on the car. The whole experience was polite and professional. It is great that they are Saab specialists, which is one of the reasons that I used them. Highly recommend.

After trying 4 other tyre companies for…

After trying 4 other tyre companies for a tyre repair on a Saturday ,midday ,and been told that it would be Monday or Tuesday the next week ,I gave All Trans a call . They said that there may be a small chance if I took the wheel to them , but it would probably be early Monday . After getting home I had a call to say that the repair was done and ready to collect . What first class service !!, I shall certainly recommend them to my friends .

Wouldn't use this company again, knocked £49 out of my deposit, I drove 34 miles in there van, and put a gallon of fuel at the end of my trip, which toke it to exactly the same level of fuel as I received it, but because it was parked at a angle fuel gauge wasn't exact reading, be prepared to lose your deposit,

I am sorry you feel you have been treated badly by us. As you are aware fuel is a very expensive commodity. Our van was fully fuelled when you hired it and we expected it to be fully fuelled on return. With digital fuel gauges, being parked on an angle makes no difference. Failure to refuel the vehicle yourself, which I am sure you were given the opportunity to do, will result in a £20 fee for us to do that for you, the fuel was £29 and the admin fee was £20. This charge would have been pointed out to you on your return and I guess you elected for us to refuel it on your behalf.

Just fantastic!!

These guys were recommended by the RAC recovery I needed when my car broke down due to gearbox issues. Other garages, including Peugeot main dealers tried to overprice the repair & get me to part ex for a newer model. I can't find any concerns with the repairs or level of professionalism I experienced. Also, very quickly sorted out despite being a notoriously busy time of year. 10/10 would certainly recommend.

Shambolic rip off merchants

All trans took 2 weeks to diagnose then a further 2 more weeks to sort the problem. I had already diagnosed the problem myself and had a few quotes that were half the price of the £1,300 they charged to change one injector and to supposedly take of the inlet manifold and blast away any carbon build up as he advised if this was not done then the injector was likely to fail again in 3 months time. Reluctantly paid to get this sorted only to have a new fault pop up on the drive home, of which I was charged £300.00 pounds to fit a sensor. Then to rub salt into the wounds that failed again 2 days later. I initially was going to take it back to them to sort out, but then came to my senses. I will never recommend or use this Mickey Mouse outfit again, not while their is a hole in my ##se.

I am sorry you felt the need to write this review. We had your vehicle for 3 weeks, of which I believe you were on holiday for most of that, we also had to wait for the third party to test the injectors.. If you had already diagnosed the issue then I do not understand why you did not repair it. The first issue was an injector. The second issue was the vent hose on the fuel tank which we diagnosed and repaired in 2 days. We did nothing without your authorisation, had you not wanted the work done then you only had to say. Our work comes with a warranty so if you believe the work we have done is faulty then to validate the warranty the vehicle needs to be brought back here.

As I cannot locate a job for you with the information given, despite requesting further information that was not forthcoming.
I can only assume we produced an estimate which you did not accept and then took the vehicle elsewhere.
There are many parts available in the aftermarket, all of different quality. We are a garage who only fit top quality parts and have technicians who continually train to keep up with the latest technology. With top quality parts and top quality technicians we do not claim to be the cheapest. Having provided an estimate you had the choice which you exercised and went elsewhere, I do not understand why you put this review on as we have done nothing wrong.

Brilliant!😄

I recently used All Trans Autos for the first time. I found that all the people I dealt with there, namely Tina, Jacob & Simon were very helpful, friendly & efficient. Although they had problems sourcing the part required Jacob kept me informed at all times, thereby saving wasted journeys & Simon who worked on my car explained everything in detail. My car is now fine - & noise free! Tina & ladies in
reception (Jill & Laura I believe) were friendly,
polite & made me feel at home. The waiting
area was a clean & pleasant place to wait.
All in all a great experience - my only regret
being that I didn't discover All Trans before!
Anyway, a huge thanks to you all - I am about to make another booking & would have no hesitation in recommending All Trans Autos. Thank you! 😊 😀

Very poor service and communication

Our car was with them nearly eight weeks. We only ever got an update when we chased. Were told at least twice on the lines of “the part’s in so should be ready in a day or two” No follow up call to say that hadn’t happened. On one occasion was told car was being road tested and would definitely call in 20 mins. No call. I called two hours later to be told there was a problem.
When I suggested that they might knock something off the bill they blamed Mercedes and their own shortage of staff, neither having been mentioned during the time they had my car.
Finally, when the car was returned, one of the seatbelts was filthy, which it certainly wasn’t when the car went in.

If there were 10 Stars I would give them. This warm, friendly and honest garage just saved me hundreds of pounds. From the receptionists to the mechanics I cannot fault their exceptional service. After receiving a very high quote from another garage I felt I should get a second opinion and I'm so glad I did. The guys at Alltrans Autos checked my car out, free of charge, found one thing that needed doing, not four things, ordered the part, did the repair and it cost me a fraction of what I'd been quoted at the other garage for things that didn't need doing. I highly recommend this gem of a garage.

Real Mechanics

Good sensible garage, repairs things that others can't be bothered to. Excellent reputation with local RAC, that has proved across 2 visits over 2 years to be accurate. Only problem with such a good reputation and abilities, they are very busy which does mean customers with major engine repairs need a little patience, but definitely worth the wait - my 2001 MG ZS has made it through thanks to Richard and Jill and drives once again as if nothing ever went wrong in the first place.

Beware of this garage

Would have given this garage 0 stars. BEWARE OF THIS GARAGE.
Management only works 2 days a week & no-one else can deal with complaints.
Dishonest with estimating & work. Priced to fit a timing chain kit, Labour 4 hours, which can only be done by taking the engine out & then tried to slip it on without taking the engine out, hence damaging the vehicle, so it can no longer be driven. Then trying adding another 12 hours labour to rectify their incompetence. The guide price to do the job is 4+ hours. They then stripped the engine out “in anticipation of the works” their word!
The Bosch Accreditation is worthless, as you have to take it up with Trading Standards via Citizens advice first, before they even look at it. Takes months. It started in January 2023 & is on going as no other local garage will take it on. Now getting it towed to Raynham to be sorted & suing All Trans Autos.

Good morning, I regret you writing this review, the vehicle is not yours and you are not our customer. We have treated the customer professionally and fair.
In January this year we were asked to provide an estimate to replace the timing chain kit. We provided the estimate and book time was 4 hours. We were asked if the kit included all the guides which it did. We did not estimate to replace all the guides as this would have meant the engine being removed. We were never asked that question by the customer.
Unlike estimates received by the customer from other garages we were honest in the book time advised to carry out this work. We are aware another garage quoted double this time and it still did not allow for the engine to be removed.
The vehicle arrived on the 16th January 2023 ready for the work to commence on the 17th January 2023. The technician stripped the vehicle out to replace the timing chain and it became apparent the guide at the rear of the engine had broken up. The broken parts were nowhere to be seen.
At this point we advised the customer of our findings and advised the timing chain kit could not be fitted due to the broken guide. The engine had to be removed to locate the broken parts and fit the rear guide. A new estimate was given to the customer.
I spoke to the customer who advised me they could not afford the work to be done and wished to remove the vehicle from us. We explained the vehicle was still in a stripped state and would need putting back together.
Based on the conversations I had with the customer and yourself; we believed it was agreeable to offer the following.

1. At our own cost to put the vehicle back together using a new timing chain only, all the other components (tensioners etc will be your original parts). The cost of the chain and oil will be provided by us at a zero cost to yourself. A disclaimer will have to be signed by you that we take no responsibility for any further damage if you run the vehicle. The rear guide is broken, and it is not known where the pieces of that guide are so we will not be able to run the vehicle and we do not advise you to do so either.

OR

2. We will recover the vehicle in its stripped state to a garage in Colchester of your choice free of charge.

In both instances the invoice for the work carried out to date will be credited ‘without prejudice’. Both options ensure you can then proceed with the repair of your vehicle having not incurred any costs. We will not pay for any hire vehicles, or any other costs incurred by yourself because of the delay to the original timing chain replacement your vehicle was estimated and booked in for with us.
If you are not satisfied with the options given, please refer your complaint to.

At no point did we hear from any official body that a complaint had been made. At no point did we mislead the customer or do any work we had not estimated for. We broke no code of conduct as set out by the AA, RAC or Bosch.
We have not heard from Trading Standards or any other official body regarding a complaint because All Trans Autos Ltd have done nothing wrong and we have been more than fair with the customer.
The reason we have said the vehicle cannot be run is to protect against any damage if the broken guide forced the new chain to break. The vehicle is in no different condition now as to when it came in to us, apart from a new timing chain. We have caused no damage to the vehicle as you falsely claim.
Therefore, the customer is in no worse position than they were in January 2023 as we have made no charge.
The timescale of 8 months is due to us waiting for the customers decision and waiting for the Colchester postcode where they wished it to be recovered to.
Legal advice has been taken and it is agreed the review is liable for defamation against All Trans Autos Ltd.

As always the staff are polite, efficient and helpful when dropping off my car for yearly MOT. Accessible garage, near to shops if needed while waiting or sufficient waiting area in their own building. Easy payment at desk.
