This is a scam
This is a scam. My 90 year old father who has recently suffered a stroke was phoned by......I wpold say company but they are not this person and I say person because he is only one man with no employees. He uses different names when you ask for his name all of them british names I questioned him about this as he has an accent and he told me his father is welsh. LIES!!!!!
My father can hardly speak and finds it difficult to hear and understand due to his stroke. This man would have had to talk my father through giving his bank account details. That alone should have made him realise that he was conning someone not only old but someone with disabilities but no he still took 144 pounds from my father which is over half my dads pension.
what is he actually offering if an appliance goes wrong there ? Absolutley nothing , We googled the company and through compannies house and the con artists name is Singh Gopal Prasad and his home address is 37 Flint Close Luton LU33 3LX I have reported him to action fraud and the police Please hang up if someone rings you from this so called company and do not give out any of your bank details. It is so sad when people like this con elderly people that have worked hard all their life out of their money. Please if ever frauded ring the police or action fraud so we can stop these fraudsters He got very cross when I use his correct name telling him I would report him and instantly offered a refund, Watch this space
Should be in jail
Caught these thieves trying to scam my 87 year old mother today. Why are they not in prison?
This is the second time in eight months!…
This is the second time in eight months that a £170 direct debit has been set up by this company on my 79year old uncles account. Pursued it with his Bank the second time and got a refund, (previously just canceled the direct debit to prevent other withdrawals). They send a letter with notice of the amount giving a time limit to cancel. With an elderly person having dementia an open goal for them!
The name Sparta Telecom appears on the bank statement.
Do not trust this company
This company have taken £170 out of my mothers bank account and she doesn’t recall speaking to them. It’s hard when our parents/ loved ones become older and their health deteriorates but having people out there preying on them is just evil.
Fraud
Fraud, Illegitimate company that scam elderly. Reported to Bank.
This company are scum
This company are scum. Exactly the same as everyone else. Preyed on my 95 year old grand mother.
Same story as previously said
Same story as previously said. DD only went out today and we caught it in time . We were baffled as to how they managed to get hold of the account numbers . The bank provided me with a telephone number for company that took the DD. Had to wait a long time for someone to answer the call and they put me through to Reliable appliance repair. They claimed they took money last year too!!!! That this £170 was just a renewal. When asked for date of that transaction they gave me a date when person was in hospital. Later during the conversation they changed date to make it before the person went to hospital!!!! I rang the bank again and we went through the account for past 2 years and no other money was taken. Very sketchy as to how they obtained the account number. Apparently we called them to set up repairs. When I told him no appliances are owned so why would we take repair service , they were so defensive. Even said I am telling the truth . How can company like this still operate. Targeting an 82 year old should be made criminal act .
Update , just found another DD set up by VEE Network £5.99 per month . Cancelled that one too. Looked it up on companies house , only one person registered to this company in both of those companies Will be looking in to see what profits they declare this year . As so far nothing much shows as declared income on files at Companies house.
Same story as others
Same story as others. Called 5 times in one day. They are also known as Veerepairs. Total scammers, praying on the elderly. Some how set up a DDebit for £17. Still called despite me asking them to cancel the Direct debit.
Same story as most others
Same story as most others, took £170 out of my elderly mothers account, thay say they had authorization off my mother but doupt this and she is suffering from early signs of dimensia so would not understand what thye where asking and has no memory of this happening. Completey unethical scam artist who prey on the elderly.
I don't know why this Company is still…
I don't know why this Company is still trading. Every year they target my elderly neighbour, even though every year I report them.

Respuesta de Reliable Appliance Repair
Same story as everyone else
Same story as everyone else, this company preyed on my elderly mother who gave no bank details. Received a letter stating dd payment will be taken out for £170. Hopefully contacted bank to cancel in time. Update - still took the money out.
Can’t give no stars
Can’t give no stars. Do not trust this company. I received a letter from Reliable Appliance repairs stating they had set up a dd with my bank for £170. I had not given any authorisation for this. They said they’d spoken to me which they hadn’t, they had spoken to an elderly relative with dementia who was very confused. DD cancelled at the bank and told them never to call again. They come under the name of Sparta Telecom on the bank statement.
Absolute ******* preying on the elderly
Absolute ******* preying on the elderly
Tried to obtain bank card details from my elderly aunt who has dementia. She couldn't find her card but did give her bank details, then receiving a letter confirming £170 direct debit.
Managed to contact bank to cancel in time but what low life does this?
Cold calling
Cold calling imbeciles. every day this week cold calling off them as shall be reported for cold calling for business
Only given 1 star because you can’t…
Only given 1 star because you can’t give 0, absolute fraud preying on 93 year old mother in law with scam call
Stay away from this company
Stay away from this company - all the previous reviews below are 100% true. They prey on elderly people and simply keep setting up direct debits. I cancelled this for my elderly father in law last year, and they have simply set up a new direct debit a year later for £170. Fortunately I saw their letter and cancelled with the bank. We will report the company.
Reliable Appliance repairs - are they genuine????
Had cold call just this morning and he wouldn’t stop talking and listen to what I had to say and kept repeating his self - I told him that I didn’t need to keep being told the same thing time and time again !!
In the end as wouldn’t listen to what I had to say my Husband told home politely to Bugger Off ! Even then he carried on - so in the end we just said bye ! And they guy said we were Rude!😳🤷🏼♀️😂😂
Just wanted to add I had a second call this afternoon from the same person who was very persistent I take out a cover! I tried many times to say I wasn’t interested again he kept repeating his self! I told them to remove my details as I wasn’t interested- he said I would be charged anyway which I said was illegal and put the phone down!
Prey on the vulnerable
My elderly, vulnerable neighbour asked me to look at a letter he had received which stated that £170 would be taken by direct debit. He was very anxious and upset by it. He can not remember taking out this policy or ever setting up the direct debit. I phoned the company on his behalf to cancel the policy. I was told he couldn't cancel as he had taken out a 5 year policy, and he was only on year 2! I was told he was getting a good deal as the cost should really be £240, but because he had not made any claims it was reduced to £170! He does not own a TV and only has an old washing machine and fridge freezer. I informed them that the direct debit was being cancelled anyway.
With my neighbour's permission, and in his presence, I spoke with the bank and cancelled the direct debit. They told me that they see this type of thing all the time and that these companies particularly target vulnerable, older people with their cold calls. The bank checked their records and he had already paid the company £170 in October! Absolutely disgraceful.
Reliable appliances huh
Absolutely awful, disgusting scammers, twice tried to get money from my mums bank account, first time £5.95 a month for a Sony TV (she has a Panasonic!!) and then 2 months later another letter for a direct debit, one off payment for £170 for spartan telecom ( what that's meant to cover who knows?) I called them to cancel the direct debit and cancelled with the bank first time and second time! Some people haven't been so lucky. I feel sorry for all the vulnerable people that this deceitful company has scammed. People please beware!!
Scammers
Scammers, I am a caregiver for an elderly gentleman who suffers short term memory loss. Letter arrived this morning from Reliable Appliance Repair. Letter stated that £170 direct debit payment due in 1 week. Phoned bank having checked company on Trust Pilot. Cancelled DD and then told by bank that £5.95 had been deducted monthly by same company! Cancelled that payment as well. No other letters ever arrived from the Company. Beware hassle phone calls.
