I have just completed the Day Skipper theory course and overall the experience was excellent. The videos were informative and it was easy to get personal help with queries that arose.
I would highly recommend to anyone looking to do their RYA theory courses

I tried out a few different providers, before settling on Ardent and am very glad I did. The courses are up to date and delivered in a genuinely engaging way. In addition to the course material they have live sessions, forums and live chat with instructors. Which helps you feel live part of an active community of learners.

Cant thank Ardent training enough for their support during training. Having not undertaken proper training for 35 years or so the prospect of taking in and properly digesting a 80 hour course was a little daunting .However Ardent's package of videos and Rya course work with instant support and detailed explanations was terrific . I can honestly say that I was properly prepared for the Day Skipper practical course which I took two weeks after passing the theory. I passed!

Outstanding. I have had a number of friends do different versions of Day Skipper Theory but Ardent has undoubtedly provided the highest level of prompt, quality feedback. Just my report but I feel this course leaves you best prepared for the practical.

I recently completed my Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Offshore Theory course with Ardent Training, and I honestly couldn’t be happier! From Day 1 right through to the final exam (which I passed yesterday—yay!), everything was absolutely spot on.

What really sets Ardent Training apart from others (I tried another provider before joining them) is the exceptional quality and attention to detail in their course materials. The slides and videos are clear, engaging, and make you feel like someone is actually teaching you—not just reading through slides.

The exercises are excellent, and the end-of-module assessments with instructor feedback (usually within two hours!) are incredibly helpful. The amount of material to cover for the Coastal Skipper is substantial—definitely more than I expected, and the exam is quite demanding—but Ardent Training made the whole experience enjoyable, structured, and motivating.

The course content is exceptionally well-structured—clear, engaging, and easy to follow. Regular knowledge checks and module assessments helped reinforce learning and build confidence throughout. The Ardent team were consistently responsive and supportive, always ready to assist whenever needed.
I chose the online pathway for its flexibility, allowing me to study at my own pace, and it worked perfectly with my schedule. This course truly delivered on every front!

Just completed Day skipper theory with Ardent and I think it would be hard to find a better on-line course. Easy to understand lessons and super quick responses if you do need help.Great having the mix of videos and txt which i found invaluable.I shall be back for coastal when I have a few miles under the boat..

The Ardent Day Skipper Course is very well prepared. In each training video one can choose to either read the text whilst the teacher is talking or listen to the teacher (who might also be showing something). Learning navigation has been tough for me and in this course it's taught carefully with clear examples and tests in between modules, which are very helpful for self assessment. One can ask questions and a teacher will come online literally less than a minute later to help. I would highly recommend this course to anyone!

Fantastic experience with Ardent training, the instructors are brilliant, they made the online course a joy to do. The team is very responsive if you need them, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to do their RYA qualifications.

Ardent Training does a great job in supporting when studying. Whenever I sent them a message I got a prompt response from them either via chat, email or phone.

The combination of the slides and the video of the instructor works very well when explaining the more difficult topics.

Best online course I’ve ever done. Quality of the videos and teaching materials is excellent and all the instructors are very friendly and enthusiastic. Also excellent support in terms of answering questions and providing feedback.

Overall excellent program. The material was presented in a clear and logical manner. It was wonderful to go through the course material at my own pace and review previous specific sections when needed. The course material was explained very clearly with depth, and significantly deepened my undestanding of topics that I have previously seen in other courses. I often used the chat function to ask questions, with a prompt reply.

The whole course from start to end - clear instruction and lots of info.
Especially great is the availability of a real sailor instructor every day to support and guide / answer any queries that I had …: from 08:00 to 20:00 - 7 days a week.
The learnings were really useful and I have just converted it into a full DS licence with passing my practical last week ! Woo Hoo 🥇

Very well structured day skipper theory course that teaches you in a simple gentle manner that gets you easily to the more difficult sections. Excellent support at the click of a button. Fantastic.

My experience has been excellent so far. The content is clear and very interactive, and the instructor's tips are handy.
For any question I asked, the answer came very quickly, with additional notes.

Ardent Training is a model for customer service. The service is unparalleled. I wish there were more companies who would put so much effort and attention in their customer service.

Next to the great customer service the courses are easily structured and the software / interface works really well. I absolutely recommend Ardent Training for sailing theory courses.

This is a very well structured and very comprehensive course. The explanations are clear and you can learn the course content at your own pace. Someone is always on hand either by email or through the chat to answer questions and review your work. You can see that the team are committed to providing students with a good allround learning experience. And to top it all, Charly, Ed and the team are so friendly and encouraging. I was completely new to the subject matter and have found it really fascinating! Great delivery. I would highly recommend this course.

I did both my Day Skipper and my Coastal/Yachtmaster theory with Ardent after trying other online courses that didn’t grab me. Ardent is friendly and personable and most important — responsive. Can’t imagine you’ll find a better online offering. I recommend them at my club whenever others ask for online offerings. I’m recommending them here now.
