My daughter did the design foundation course part time over two years. School was horrendous for her so the chance to study design at home and gain qualifications was brilliant. The course gave her a purpose and allowed her to explore her creativity freely without the harshness of school. She did the course instead of A levels , and having had another daughter who did creative A levels the foundation course was more enjoyable but still earned UCAS points.
My daughter is off to uni now to study fashion , something we never thought possible after the failings of traditional education. OCAD gave her the confidence and opportunity to believe in herself again. The course opened up a wider experience than she would have had with traditional A levels. She does not have to do a foundation year after a levels as she already has one.
The tutor was amazing very supportive and very knowledeable. There is admin to do but the tutor helped with any questions.

I’m enrolled in the OCAD Level 2 Photography course and I’m really enjoying it. The lessons are well structured and inspiring and I learn something new every week. The teacher is professional, knowledgeable and truly cares about each student’s progress.

Whenever we submit work, we receive feedback and he answers questions quickly. This constant feedback is very helpful and keeps me motivated to improve my photography skills.

Overall, it’s been a great experience and I’m looking forward to completing the course.

During my Level 2 Photography course, I was fortunate to have an excellent tutor who was both encouraging and insightful. As a home-educated student preparing for GCSEs, I struggled to find many opportunities to explore creative arts. Fortunately, OCAD offered a diverse selection, allowing me to pick a path that perfectly matched my interests. I'm eager to continue my educational journey with OCAD moving forward.

The OCAD Level 2 course in Art and Design has worked out very well for my homeschooled son. The assignments are clear and consistent and feedback is given very quickly. My son is now in the second year of the course and has found it easy to carry over skills learnt in the first year whilst pursuing his independent study.

I started this course off late due to many reasons on my behalf, however with the help and aid of my tutors I was able to work hard and achieve my desired goal on time. This experience was rewarding in every way and helped me expand my creative processes. I really recommend this course whether you decide to pursue it for a cause or not.

I just got my certificate for finishing the OCAD Course, i’m over the moon and jumping up with joy. I got all passes from all the projects and a distinction for the final major project. This course was the best decision I’ve ever done in my entire life. I had a fabulous Tutor on my Level 2 Photography course, really supportive and knowledgable. I found there weren't many places I could pursue the creatives arts as a home ed student doing GCSEs. OCAD had a good range and I was able to choose an option that suited me best. I hope to be able to study more with OCAD in future.

I learnt so much during my time at OCAD studying for a Level 3 in Art and Design. The course is clearly structured and can be studied over 1 or 2 years, allowing flexibility to study alongside work and other commitments. Communication between students and OCAD is excellent and you are given a study plan when you begin the course, allowing you keep on track. What I think makes OCAD stand out is that everyone is assigned a tutor who you can meet over Teams. I found this invaluable: as a part time student I met my tutor every two weeks, received feedback on my work and discussed what I needed to do next. My tutor, Jo, continually challenged me and was a great source of inspiration and encouragement. The course itself gives you the flexibility to choose from a wide range of artistic disciplines in the first stage of the course, then you can specialise in the second and final stages of the course. All the tutors work in their chosen creative field alongside their OCAD work Students are also given plenty of support with UCAS applications and building a strong portfolio, either for university applications or working in the creative industry. I would highly recommend OCAD to anyone considering studying there.
