Best refinance lender out there

I first refinanced to Athena about two years ago, and asked for a revaluation of my property earlier this year. The customer service reps were super fast to get back to me, and incredibly helpful in going about the revaluation. It was finalised quickly, lowered my overall LVR, and I automatically got the benefit of a lower rate. Kudos to Athena for investing in their front line staff, was 1000% easier than any interaction I have had with previous lenders. Will only be taking out future mortgages with Athena.

How easy was that!

How easy was that!
I made a simple Internet Search after getting an increase letter from My old Mortgage provider and the rate that come back, From Athena, with the potential saving was too good to ignore.
8 days later all the Paper work was done and I have a Interest rate way below my previous lender.

I felt I was treated as a human, dealing with other humans who were empowered to do their jobs well.

Overall my experience was great. Everything was fast and went smoothly. Staff were friendly, helpful and supportive. Communication was thorough and I always knew what was going on. I felt I was treated as a human, dealing with other humans who were empowered to do their jobs well.
In terms of room for improvement; there were a few minor bugs with the application software and automated messages. But nothing terrible.
Keep up the good work legends!

Was simple enough. No major hassles with supplying information, obtaining advice from the team members. Only issue experienced is with the website not enabling additional information to be provided easily.

New home loan

Some emails were just standard templates and did not reflect my situation. They expressed no interest in attending the property settlement at all - despite everything being approved and signed off well before settlement. The approval letter was not detailed enough in that it did not contain an estimate of government fees.

Thanks so much for your feedback. We want you to have a personalised experience and assign a Loan Expert to every customer so you have one point of contact that you can call, text or email 7 days a week. We’ll review our emails to ensure relevant information is communicated.

There was a settlement prior to your refinance which your solicitor attended and didn’t require our involvement. Once this was completed, we then proceeded with your refinance settlement. We always want our customers to settle asap but sometimes you may find the lender that you’re leaving delays the process.



The reason we don’t detail government fees in the approval letter is because these costs may differ depending on state or situation, but we’ll definitely take your feedback onboard to review how we can provide more detail.

We’re sorry your refinancing experience was not 5 stars, but we look forward to improving your experience from here on! 😁

Great experience!

Great experience! Experts always ready to help and transparent in what is happening. Ultimately went with Athena not just because of no fees but the great service during origination. Hoping this will continue through with their servicing team!

Please improve the app and reduce the frequency of reminders

I didn't have a great sign up experience. Firstly I was just investigating the website when suddenly I had started an application by accident. I was then bombarded by text messages and emails from Athena Every Single Day reminding me to finish my application. Luckily they are easy to contact via both email and text so when I told them to stop they did. Much better than being on hold for an hour. The same thing happened once I did complete my application and was getting my paperwork together: daily reminders by both email and text.
The website and phone app are not very friendly, confusing to use and also a strange way of showing balances below each transaction rather than to the right in another column, makes it difficult to see what's happened.
The rates are good.

This has been an ordeal! Not because of Athena, you have been patient & kind in all our dealings. There was a significant delay in my settlement with all sorts of delays I have not properly understood with settling this property. Thank you for assisting me with this and for hanging in there since initial approval & final settlement. I'm so pleased! Thank you

Relaxed Experience

The online experience and interaction was great and the communication was on point, without the need to attend appointments etc. The communication via text and email was very user friendly and non formal which is a pleasant change.
