I previously lived in a building managed by Avon. Communication from their side is incredibly poor. Calling reception is never helpful as it seems the relevant people are rarely in the office and others are unable to help. Also seems the staff do not communicate with eachother so you need to explain things to multiple people. Rent increases not communicated in a timely manner. Maintenance issues are on the whole dealt with (some exceptions) but the lack of communication makes it a very chaotic process. Building is not maintained to a good standard and led to regular parcel thefts and unhygienic conditions.

My flat was in a building managed by Avon Estates (London) Limited, one of the Avon companies. I was trying to sell it and the whole process took 8 months which Avon was in part responsible for all these delays. At Avon, there is only one person (Bella Sharer) who deals with property sales. Bella is not the quickest to respond and needs to be chased by phone if you need information in a timely manner. There is also no point in calling in the morning since she starts her day around noon time. She would never answer the phone, her receptionist would pass on my messages. In August, Bella went on leave and for 2 weeks there was nobody else in the whole company who could address my Buyer’s queries which is completely unacceptable for a company with these kinds of responsibilities. Because of this, I almost lost my Buyer. If this wasn’t enough, Avon also charges extortionate fees for their documents (certificate of compliance, management packs, etc.). My solicitor had never seen these amounts for these documents which you have no option but to pay to move forward. Overall, extremely poor service and experience, I would highly recommend anyone to stay away from properties that are linked closely or from afar to Avon GOC.
