I read the heart-warming and heart-breaking story of Ron the small owl box maker and then I fortunately read reviews about Backroad Goods and the fake stories, mass-produced tat that they pedle. Upon re-reading the story it is obviously AI (repeats a theme several times). I am glad I read the other Trust Pilot reviews. I will be researching proper Owl Boxes though, so some good has come of it.

As others have described , this is a scam.
I too fell for the ceramic bee flowers, they are a third of the advertised size, and are quite obviously mass produced. Very disappointing.

I bought some bags and they are nothing like they were described to be. DO NOT order from these people, it is a big SCAM. The bags that were meant to have sheep hand sewn on them came and had a printed picture of sheep nothing like what was advertised. They are cheap and tacky and I paid $170 for them. They do not reply to emails either so it’s impossible to return anything.

The site was "Armand's Fireplace Lanterns" handmade in Barre Vermont..TOTALLY FALSE. I wanted to return the product for a full refund, but in order to return it I would have had to ship it to Hong Kong and then only get a 25% refund, when Armands website says a full refund is guaranteed. FAKE WEBSITE, FAKE INFORMATION, JUNK PRODUCT. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS WEBSITE OR THIS PRODUCT FOR THAT MATTER. I WAS SCAMMED AND I LOST $59 dollars.

I wish I had read these reviews before I purchased the items. The description of the goods was misleading and they were NOT artisinally made. Mass produced, smaller and other details just plain wrong. When I expressed concern to the company and asked for a refund, they only offered 25% refund or I had to pay return postage to Hong Kong. Paypal payment is not offered, only credit card, so no buyer protection.

Do Not order from this place, cheaply made, most of all it's not even what was advertised! I like to give them zero stars!

Cheap product received, not as described at all, not as pictured. Poorly made. No response when wanting to return product.

Definately a SCAM organisation. Apparently some dissapointed people recieved shoddy goods, but I have recieved NO goods, tracking does not work. No replies to Emails....Total £100 scam. Some dispicable low life is behind this, hope they rot! Steer clear.....

Be aware that the same holding company behind Back Road Goods is also responsible for an organisation known as "Cedar & Tin". The site advertises their Bee Hotel with much the same sob story - ageing, retiring artisan; near cripple; limited stock of his last creations.
I had already ordered the product when I saw almost identical blurb in Back Roads Goods. Product in transit - I don't expect good outcome! Rod

Complete scam - misrepresentation of product quality and sourcing (cutting board was Chinese, not domestic, and rubberwood, not olive wood).

I was suspicious immediately because as soon as I ordered they texted me to double check my address and then sent multiple follow ups advertising promotions until I blocked the phone number.
What I ended up receiving looked nothing like what I ordered. I ordered 8 of the Ceramic Bee Blossoms. I was fooled by the 'these are the last ones Bev will ever throw'.
They look very different to what's in the photos and they are a third of the size.

They don't have a matt rim as advertised.
They didn't come with powder coated steel stakes
They are each 3-4cm wide not 10-12cm wide as stated in the product description.
They are not 2-4mm at the edge.
The attached stake length is 20 cm not 30 cm.
There was no placement card included as advertised.
Each one was not separately packed as advertised, there was 4 per box, wrapped together.

When I tried to request a return using the email address advertised (30 days money back guarantee, no questions asked), of course the email bounced. No such address.
This is a scam site, buyer beware.

All the heart felt stories are B/S. ordered the Reg's hedgehog house after seeing what looked like a Devon news article. Took ages to arrive when it did (this morning) it was not as discribed and not handmade by Reg. Really really angry I did not check here first. Every scumbag is after your hard earned money.

My husband read an article on his phone from “Field & Hedgerow” about “Reg” the 73 year old from Devon who was making his last hedgehog houses from his late father’s stock of chestnut wood. Reg had done many years of research in an old milking parlour, regarding hedgehog behaviour. What a guy!!! ⭐ 🌟 ⭐ ⭐ 🌟.
The name of the magazine/paper was taken from a book by R. Jeffries written in 1889. Reg, sadly😔 didn’t exist, he was a total fiction. We both fell for this and I found the 🦔 houses on the Backroad Goods site and immediately ordered 2, one for my very helpful neighbour. I then went to order “Carol’s cat shelter” for our wild cats to help them through the winter. I placed my order on 28/09 and apart from the initial acknowledgment, there has been no further updates regarding delivery. I checked Royal Mail tracking numbers but I was more than suspicious when the sender had dispatched the items on the same day I ordered them as it was late afternoon.
On 08/10 I decided to pursue a telephone number and ‘stumbled’ across information leading to reviews, 76 of them I think, mine makes 77.
I have since emailed asking for a refund but I do not expect a reply.
It has taught me to ALWAYS review if you’re using a new site. The next stop is my bank.

This company is running scams all over the world but based in China. It is a scam they are selling handmade good with a great story that are massed produced at a fraction of the price they are selling them.

There was an article about a lady who made the handbags and was losing her sight and was shutting down the business. The bags look lovely online. After I ordered it the confirmation email said it was coming from China. It’s just arrived and it’s absolute rubbish.

Do not buy from this website. Mass produced rubbish sold as as handmade artisan products. They will happily ask you to send the dodgy product back to Hong Kong at your own expense or offer you a 25% refund if you don't want to do that. Avoid
