Contrary to some of the below reviews, my prior and most recent experience with Banquet Records has been great.

My most recent order, a signed copy of the new Hives record, arrived within 4 days of dispatch. It was well-packaged and in great condition.

I live in close proximity to the store, so I can understand some impatience regarding delivery times if you live further out. However, I would consider the wait worth it if you're buying an album signed by an artist you love.

(Regarding the Rita Ora/Liam Gallagher situation, I would say blame the distributor/label and not the store if false signed copies have been provided to Banquet by the artist's team)

Highly recommend this local store for physical music media, and the brilliant value live gigs.

I order 2 items and paid postage for 2, they both arrived in the same package, no postal refund and impossible to contact to have a sensible conversation with.
Really poor show in 2023 when trying to support independent record shops

Delivery took two weeks to arrive after receiving confirmation of dispatch even though I paid extra for tracked delivery.

Item then arrived in perfect condition but the accompanying autographed print was clearly not genuine. Disappointed as I had to wait two weeks for a brand new release, I paid more than other stores and then received bogus shipping information and a fake print! Not great for so many reasons. Not sure how much of it was down to them vs down to the artist.

I am 99.9% certain I was sent a fake signed Liam Gallagher album. This is from experience of collecting Oasis autographs. There have been numerous accounts for this specific item being forged. I had to pay for Signed delivery back to banquet and have been told I will be refunded minus my own expense for postage back. So far the correspondence back from banquet has been abysmal. One line replies. No updates without being chased. Still no refund and no record from my bank to say they can even see it being processed. The 14 days is not quite up and I assume they have A LOT of refunds to process so fingers crossed I will get my money back. I would avoid this company like the plague if I was anyone considering using them.

For this companies note… If this was a legitimate signature there is no way I would have sent this back. If you had offered to cover return postage I would have given the benefit of the doubt and not left this review but I am now very much out of pocket at no fault of myself.

**Update - I did get a refund in the end on the very very last day possible after chasing. Minus the return postage costs. Don't take that as a positive though. The refund could have been processed on the day they received the item back not 12-13 days later.**

Do not trust this company when buying signed vinyl/items, they are fakes, and not the first time they have been caught out doing it. The Mirror newspaper have just done an article on them too.
Luckily PayPal sided with me on my claim for faked signed Liam Gallagher Vinyl.

Very poor service. Ordered a cd and vinyl with a “signed print”. The order was 2 weeks late arriving, no emails were answered asking about my order. When it eventually arrived, the signatures were fake! The customer service is non-existent too. You get a generic reply from an arrogant member of staff called Ben about a week after contacting them. Also have a policy of combining orders into one but not refunding postage they have saved. Instead they keep that! Also, you have to pay for your own return, even though it is their fault you are returning an item. It then takes 2 weeks to acknowledge you have sent it and another 2 weeks to get the refund! There are plenty of decent record stores out there and this isn’t one of them! Should be called Bandit Records!

Non genuine signed items sent.

Double postage charged for single delivers.

Refused refund.

Items returned refunds still not given over a week later.

Threaten to blacklist from all UK record shops.

Paid for a personalised signed CD.
Got a message saying they had 'missed' my one at the event - would I like a signed but not personal one or a refund.
Tried to phone several times.
Requested a refund.
No response.
No refund yet (may just be too soon).
Really disappointed.
Not sure if the place is a scam or just disorganised.

Slow delivery, poor customer service, post two separately orders with two post charges in one package ( if I wanted one order I would order it in one). Dubious signatures. Avoid

Despite previous negative reviews saying signatures are fake, they’re not! They even show on their social media of the physical people being there signing copies! Of course they could get the musician to sign 1 then they do the rest but that’s a waste of the musicians time being there as well! The personalised signed stuff is legit! Been through authentication company’s and always came back as authentic! I’ve never been to the physical shop but have always had a pleasant experience with online ordering from them! Only ever had 1 delay out of the 15+ orders I’ve made! The customer service person I spoke to (Ben) was really nice and helpful :) I would recommend buying from this shop!

Mike and the team were super helpful in steering me towards getting an email when a signed item came back in stock. The were quick, friendly and helpful via email. Superb service. Happy to recommend.

I place an order for a product which indicated it was in stock. After 6 days I emailed the Banquet who didn't reply, but promptly cancelled and refunded my order with no explanation.

I thought I was ordering from an independent record store, but they've got a long way to go with regard to customer service. Terrible.

I ordered a number of records at the turn of the year, one of which never came in to stock so i recently got in to contact with Banquet who replied within hours and advised that I could swap for another record. I ended up choosing an LP which cost £12 more than the original ordered and was only charged a £5 for the new record and delivery! All of the replies from Ben were quick and helpful and all was resolved quickly. Great customer service thanks Ben & Banquet Records 👍🏻

I ordered a vinyl LP in September which Banquet Records readily took payment.
Nine months later they’re not answering my emails.
Shame I didn’t read the reviews before purchasing.

Disappointing again! Have a few times stuck with Banquet as I really value the theory of a local independent record store, so try to shop at Rough Trade or Banquet or direct from the label rather than the corporate alternatives.
Sad to say Banquet always disappoints. Pre-ordered the PJ Harvey album (standard version - no fancy things!) As a fan, I like the idea of receiving it on the day of release. It arrives 6 days later. No response to my email four days ago, asking that if it hadn't been dispatched, I'd prefer to buy it physically from a store, so that I could at least hear it. Not sure if it's a lack of staff, or just a lack of care in getting things right - with their shocking customer service, I'm surprised they're still in business.
Sadly not a one off - almost every order I've ever placed with Banquet either never shows up or I have to retrieve it from the shop itself - was once told they had it in their hand, so made a special journey for them to have mislaid a whole boxful when I went to the shop. The good news - I've finally learnt my lesson and won't be going back!

Ordered an RSD edition of the Rolling Stones Beggers Banquet LP as a gift at the end of April, it took around 1 month to arrive (which leads me to think that they never had the product available like was stated on the website in the first place. So after a one month wait (with no updates from the company other than the dispatch email a few weeks later) despite expecting a RSD edition of the LP, the item that arrived was the standard edition of the LP. This was inconvenient and very disappointing as due to the length of time taken to arrive everywhere else with stock of the RSD edition of the LP had sold out due to the limited nature of the release. Upon discovering the issue, I emailed support, and after a two day wait I got an email back, basically saying that they were unable to get what I had ordered and that somehow the mistake had gone unnoticed by a few different people. I was offered a return or 50% off what I had incorrectly received. Return postage was offered to be covered so long as I sent 2nd class Royal Mail (which didn't actually insure the full value) despite this I was told as soon as I submitted proof of postage that I would be refunded, which I was.
The whole experience has completely has put me off this company and I would not recommend one bit.

Great that they put on low cost, small scale gigs with so many artists. But their mail order system seems like it needs an overhaul. I shouldn’t have to wait almost two weeks for orders to arrive, so I’d only recommend buying in store instead of over the internet if possible

yet another poor experience, they recieved one or two hundred records into stock and of the 3 that were damaged I was offered two of them, maybe after my last 1 star review it was my fault to keep buying from them, i am sure i was not singled out based on my previous review.

Made me wait 4 months for 3 different records, then when I emailed to find out why it was taking so long with no update, they were rude and refunded them all despite me asking them not to. They advertised the items as available even though they weren’t. Avoid at all cost. I could have got all of the records at the time from other sellers but wanted to support the business I have for over 10 years, however now they are all out of stock. Terrible service, rude staff, namely Ben and Max, and I won’t be shopping there again or attending their events.
