Banquet Records are great and very helpful. All at Banquet Records are friendly and I love going there.
Whether it’s the high profile artists they put on, in intimate venues or dealing with my record orders, they have been brilliant. A smashing independent record store.
Awful Customer Service
I ordered a Kylie Minogue personally signed cd. When the item arrived the cd was not signed. I contacted their customer service and after some checking they said that the wrong item had been signed and that a 12x12 print had been signed and sent to me instead. I retrieved the mailer that the item had been sent in from the recycling, I checked it again and found the signed print between two pieces of cardboard at the back of the packaging.
Firstly their customer service didn’t tell me in advance that the wrong item had been signed and was being sent to me. They just sent me the wrong item without any notice. If they had advised me that the wrong item had been signed I wouldn’t have been thoroughly checking the cd sleeve and booklet trying to find the autograph. Also I would have known that there was a signed print inside the packaging. To add to that if they told me in advance that the wrong item had been signed and was being sent to me, I would have told them not to send it and to send me a refund instead. As a signed print was no good to me.
Secondly they sent me an email saying a personally signed cd had been dispatched to me, which was completely untrue.
They did offer me a refund, but only if I returned the full order as received. The cost to me of the packaging and postage was going to take up too much of the refund to make it worthwhile returning the order.
Ordered a Kylie Minogue XMAS…
Ordered a Kylie Minogue XMAS Personalised LP and received an email saying that the personalisation has been damaged so it cant be sent but they have sent the LP. Im so dissappointed. Ive emailed questioning what happened but no reply. They did state that kylie will be re signing the personalisation so i will definately be chasing this up as i paid for a personalised product.
OK but untruthful
Banquet Records seem to be untruthful about their stock for the Black Friday 2025 sales. It took a few weeks for their supposed 'remaining stock' to be dispatched, which they seemed to have no problem with allowing the order immediately at the 8am online ordering time their site had described.
I e-mailed them about 5 days to ask why it was taking so long to dispatch and I just got a canned response about staff being overworked and that I should be expected to wait a few days for shipment.
Well I waited a few weeks and finally got the record - so that's all well and good, but unfortunately I probably won't be using Banquet Records again due to their dishonesty.

Surprisingly positive experience given some of the negative reviews on this site. Item was as described, delivered roughly on time. Good communication when I contacted them to progress status of order.

Attempts to make contact have been almost impossible and phoning the shop results in being fobbed off by rude staff.
Eventually to be told items not in stock.
I altered the order but I’m still waiting delivery. Again fobbed off . I’ve now received a email blaming the Royal Mail and to re contact st the weekend if I’ve not received the order.Utterly pathetic customer service.

Shocking and never recieved
I ordered a personalised copy from yungblud a month ago !! Despite sending several emails and WhatsApp nobody has replied . This was my grandaughters gift for xmas to put her concert tickets in . I have now pasted this all over yungbluds Instagram and Facebook
Avoid Banquet Records
Do not order from them. They took my money eight weeks ago for a disc I ordered as a birthday gift. The birthday has been and gone. I have received nothing. Their email address is dead. They are simply the worst.

Have used Banquet for a number of years but their service is simply abysmal now. Not the first time I've had order issues but on this occasion I spent nearly £250. One record was a pre-order for 14th November which I'm now being told is out of stock and they can't tell me when it's back in. The whole idea of a pre-order is they know how many records they have to press, so confusing how it's put of stock. The second was being sold as in stock, no indication upon ordering that there maybe a delay but now also out of stock and no estimated delivery date. On their website both records show as in stock so as a buyer you'd assume there's no issue but they're clearly taking orders a d money for products they can't supply

Used to order regularly, now when I've placed orders I get emails after they have taken my money the item is not in stock, bit with their supplier or the printer.
How can a record that is a pre order, not be ordered. The whole idea of a pre order is they know how many to order. This on top of charging £20.00 postage, not refunded for orders not received. Its fraud. You shouldn't be accepting orders and taking money for items you say are in stock when they are not and you cannot get them from the supplier.

I always judge a business by how they deal with things when they go wrong, rather than right.
Ordered quite a bit from Banquet. Like others mention on trust pilot the customer service is absolutely terrible and downright abrupt and rude.
I'm not a confrontational person, quite the opposite. Had two issues with orders and contacted customer services quite politely for advice. This second time having to deal with such rudeness will be my last order.
I wouldn't say banquet are particularly cheap, about in line with competitors but I'd recommend going elsewhere even if you have to pay a few extra quid for piece of mind if something goes wrong.
Postage with signature is also more expensive than other UK vendors.
Signed LP
I ordered a signed Pale Waves LP for my daughter in OCTOBER 2024 and here we are 13 months later and still nothing.
Banquet claimed Pale Waves were very busy and apologised and offered refunds on two other occasions when I chased them for an update.
They are reactive to chasing and do respond but when you take peoples money for a product you've still not provided after a year you'd like to think that good customer service is proactive. Reach to your customers and let them know what's going on, update them, keep them in the loop.
They've been chased for the final time and now I'm just going to request a refund. I won't ever use them again to purchase anything.
Record sold without being in stock
I wish I'd read these reviews before ordering. Like many others here I ordered an album with no indication that it wasn't actually in stock.
When I emailed to chase the order up I received a reply saying that it was being ordered in and may take some time to arrive. I really don't think advertising records as being in stock when they aren't is in any way acceptable.

Pre-ordered an album from them, it wasn't despatched until 5 days after release, and then took over two weeks to arrive. Wouldn't order from them again.

Warped records and no Partial refund
Usually alright with customer service but I received a record and sent them video proof it was warped. They just said I could send it back and not be replaced. Not even a partial refund. Emails are slow and customer service isn’t great.
