BEWARE - Dangerous and dirty property
We booked a property through this company direct from their website, also on AirBnB, and on the day of arrival we had to chase them many times to get access and didn’t get the key code until we were actually driving to the property.
They wanted to reserve a deposit but I refused as the Apple Security function said their link may be trying to ‘steal your personal or financial information’. Blue Puffin’s response was to send us a link which led to the same dire warning.
When we arrived with our grown up children and 4 granddaughters the large climbing frame, prevalent on the website, was just not there and the only other garden furniture was so rickety as to be dangerous and completely useless.
On examination of the property we found it to be dirty with paint pealing, stained furniture and the floor covered in dirt and dust. Worst of all there was glass missing where the panes had been smashed leaving jagged edges in a house going to be used by children as well as adults.
I repeatedly phoned their office and eventually got through to someone who would only relay my concerns and eventually, after Kate and Andrew refused to speak to me, I was offered an immediate full refund, which I obviously accepted as the property was about as far away from ‘luxurious’ and ‘stunning’ as you can get.
Apparently it was my fault for not warning them there was going to be children staying despite the pictures on the website showing a children’s climbing frame and an email the morning of the start of the booking warning me that I use the climbing frame at my own risk (they said the email was automated and therefore not relevant)!
I sent them 26 pictures of dirty and damaged conditions and their defence was that it they had ‘time stamped photos’ from their cleaners which in their eyes countered the actual photos and videos I had sent to them minutes before.
Their defence for the dangerous furniture and jagged glass is that ‘it is already on our maintenance list to address’ and ‘it can be difficult coordinate’ repairs.
In the other numerous complaints there follows a self serving list of reasons why it is not their fault, but don’t be fooled, this was a dirty and dangerous property and their payment system may ‘steal your personal and financial information’. Avoid.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, Daniel. We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations, but we would like to clarify several points for the benefit of future guests.
Regarding the refundable security deposit, we are an API-connected host with Airbnb and are authorised to collect refundable deposits as part of our pre-arrival requirements. The payment link provided is securely used for this purpose and has been successfully used by many guests. We understand that a security warning on a device can understandably cause concern; however, the suggestion that our payment process is intended to “steal” personal or financial information is not an accurate reflection of the situation.
We acknowledge that there was a delay in providing your access information on arrival and apologise for the inconvenience. This has been reviewed internally to help prevent it from happening again.
Regarding the climbing apparatus, although it appeared in some photographs when the booking was made, it was not listed as an available amenity. It had been removed because we no longer considered it suitable for use, particularly by children. Unfortunately, an automated pre-arrival message still referenced the apparatus, and we fully acknowledge that this should have been updated. We apologise for that oversight. Had we known that the climbing apparatus was particularly important when choosing the property, we would have been happy to clarify its removal before your arrival.
Once your concerns were raised and it became clear that you did not wish to remain at the property, we agreed that you could leave that day and receive a full refund. You accepted this resolution and subsequently confirmed that the refund had been received.
We take cleanliness and maintenance seriously. The property is professionally cleaned following each stay, with timestamped photographs provided by our cleaning team. These records were reviewed alongside the photographs you sent following your departure. We acknowledge that some maintenance items required attention and have followed these up. Other points shown, including chipped paint, marks and signs of general use, are consistent with wear and tear within a regularly occupied serviced accommodation property. Nevertheless, your feedback has been taken on board as part of our ongoing cleaning and maintenance programme.
We would also like to clarify that we did not refuse to assist you. Kate and Andrew were unavailable to take your call at the time, but your concerns were relayed to the relevant team members and addressed. Ultimately, we agreed to end the reservation immediately and refund the accommodation cost in full.
After receiving the full refund, you requested a further 10% payment towards fuel, train tickets and food. Our Directors reviewed this request but did not agree to further compensation for these consequential costs, as the full reimbursement of the accommodation was considered a fair resolution.
We appreciate that this was a disappointing experience for you and your family, particularly as the stay was intended for a special occasion. We are sorry that it did not work out as planned and have taken the relevant feedback on board to help us improve the property and our service going forward.

Utterly fabulous stay in a perfectly sized nugget of comfort. Everything I needed and such thoughtful extras (coffee pods being the win 🙂, plus a proper little freezer not the annoying little ice tray thing above a fridge in some small stays).
So much character, being a converted railway carriage, no neighbours but didnt feel isolated. Gorgeous deck and inside: a bed you can climb into which always reminds me of my too high bed from childhood.
Donkey scritches were available, heron watching over the pond,I did spy a probable working cat, and all only a 5 mins drive from town.
The communication was great and responsive and I felt that if there was an issue it would have been dealt with promptly (there wasn't but it was nice to feel someone was there if needed).
It was so lovely I extended by 2 nights and would have added more if it hadn't already been booked.

Group get together
We were a group of 5 mums and 5 toddlers. We had a great stay here in Portsmouth. The house was perfect for what we wanted. We spent most of the time in the big garden.
The rooms were comfortable. It’s on a main road and the traffic was loud in the front bedroom.
Other than that, the house was comfortable and I would recommend to other large groups wanting a pace to gather together.

Communicatio problems.
The house was very clean, ideal situation for enjoying Winchester. The twin bedroom has no storage space for clothes or suitcases, and is too small for two people to share. Instructions for access did not arrive by email 24 hours ahead only came on the morning of departure from home after 9.00am and answers to questions came from telephone calls diverted to the Phillipines, too late to share with those sharing the house. We were unable to contact Blue Puffin on more than one occassion, comunictions were very poor and hopefully could be improved. Parking is not always available in the street but there is a parking station in close by. In spite of these problems we enjoyed out stay.wn

We had an absolutely amazing time at The Oaks! The Barn is beautiful, with excellent facilities. We enjoyed the communal areas to sit and socialise and also the hot tub! Great location and scenic views! Would definitely recommend and would also also like to return again in the future. Thankyou!

Lovely clean and comfortable cottage in…
Lovely clean and comfortable cottage in the heart of Titchfield village. Close to shops, pubs etc, but also just a few yards away a superb walking route along Titchfield canal towards the sea. Great for our dog!
Inside, the cottage is bright and well equipped. The beds have excellent mattresses and linens. We would have appreciated more hanging and drawer space for clothes for our 2 week stay, but otherwise, top marks. The upstairs bathroom has a great shower, complimentary toiletries and
plenty of hotel quality white towels. The little courtyard garden has various types of outdoor seating and is ideal for sunny days. We would love to stay here again.
The Blue Puffin team were friendly, helpful and very responsive. We will certainly use their services in the future.

Cosy 2-BR Home near Port Solent w/ Private Garden
