Bowen pies Harpers lane
We visited the Harper's lane shop at lunchtime today and I can't recommend it enough, the shop is spotlessly clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the pies (steak and a chicken and mushroom) were beautiful, piping hot and just truly tasty pies, we enjoyed it so much we treated ourselves to an ice cream pie and it was well worth it, definitely somewhere we would visit again.

This company has to be one of the best i have ever dealt with. My communication with them was first class (i forgot which date i requested for delivery) They were lovely and understanding and asked if i wanted the pies earlier which i did. There were no issues whatsoever with dpd, package arrived safely and on time. I put the steak one in to warm up instantly and I absolutely loved it. The pastry was nice and crusty and full of steak, it tasted like a luxury pie. I really cannot imagine buying from anywhere else. Thankyou so much Bowens pies and keep doing what you do because your customers are really appreciating it.

DPD left box of pie's outside my front…
DPD left box of pie's outside my front door in baking heat and didn't even ring the door bell, I do have a parcel box with a very clear sign on it, is he mental or something, so I can't order anything from Bowen because of DPD drivers. I'm having to edit this review because Bowen pie's don't understand my review, THE PIES WERE LEFT OUTSIDE MY FRONT DOOR IN THE BAKING HEAT AND DIDN'T RING THE BELL OR KNOCK ON THE DOOR ALSO THEY COULD OF PUT THEM IN MY LARGE PARCEL BOX SO BECAUSE OF THIS I WON'T BE ORDERING ANY MORE PIE'S, IS THIS A BIT MORE CLEAR.

Thank you for your review, Chris. We’re sorry to hear how your delivery was handled, and we do understand your frustration.
We use DPD as a third party courier and put our trust in them to follow delivery instructions and provide a good level of service, so it’s disappointing to hear this wasn’t the case on this occasion. Customers are sent tracking updates by DPD via email and text, including delivery notifications and options to manage the delivery directly with the courier.
We requested more information as we don’t currently have any record of you contacting us directly, and without an order number we’re unable to locate the order or look into this properly.
We will always look to rectify issues like this when customers contact us directly. Please email support@bowenpies.co.uk and we can look into this for you.

Pastry.... Could do better
Plenty of filling and very tasty. What let's the pies down in my view is the pastry. Not crispy but soft even after heating. Sort the pastry recipe out and will be happy to award 5 stars

For the best finish, we always recommend heating the pies in the oven, as this gives the pastry the best chance to crisp up properly. Each order includes storage and heating instructions to help with this.

Most pies these days are more gravy…
Most pies these days are more gravy than filling but these pies are the complete opposite each pie I've tried so far have been filled fully with tender and tasty meat and the customer service is excellent
