Possible lack of experience
The person that I spoke to on the phone didn’t appear to know what I was talking about despite my giving her all necessary details. I wanted to pay my deposit. I got the impression that she had to go away and ask for guidance before we could proceed.

Living in Canada, I was booking the garden tour in England online however I needed to contact Brightwater twice by phone. Both times, the staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. I look forward to the tour Aug 9-12 2026!

Good coach tour
Good coach tour. All gardens were beautiful especially Highgrove, where we had a guided tour & lunch. Excellent coach driver & tour guide gave information on each garden before we arrived. Hotel was good but food could be improved with more choice . More idea of homeward drop off time would have been useful so arrangements could be made for onward travel.

Brightwater website horrendous!!!!
The Brightwater website is totally rubbish and it is incredibly difficult to find the wanted holiday as the selection section does not work! I initially tried booking online but couldn’t complete the booking because my email address (previous used with Brightwater) was rejected as having been used before. I phoned to make the booking in the end as was told that there were horrendous problems with the website and that it was being completely replaced in the coming months. The Brightwater website is honestly impassible to use!!!! 😡

I loved the choice of gardens, the owners more than helpful and ready to share their experience. Often offering tea and cakes. I felt safe with our driver, Charles, and appreciated the knowledge of our guide Alex Goodyear.

Very poor pre-trip communication
Very poor pre-trip communication. Trip to gardens went ahead without amendment, despite Exceptional Weather Alert [Red ] and advice not to travel into the area unless essential. Absolutely no proactive contact from Brightwater when Red Alert issued. When I contacted them, not permitted to discuss this decision directly with decision-maker. Very poor customer service and lack of responsibility exposing elderly people to extreme weather. Dismissive and patronising.

In this instance, while temperatures were high for the UK, the tour was reviewed and proceeded as planned, operating safely and successfully for those who chose to travel.
We appreciate that you made a personal decision not to join the tour due to the forecast temperatures, and we fully respect that choice. However, as the tour was not cancelled or amended based on the official guidance and our operational assessment, it went ahead as scheduled.

A poor choice of hotel for our gardening club group. Pleasant hotel staff, but evening meals of a very poor standard.

Successful and enjoyable Angus Gardens trip
Good pre-trip communication. Lovely coach. Smartly dressed and capable bus driver. Very pleasant, well-organised and helpful guide. Well chosen and well run hotel. Nice room and well serviced. Food on offer good. My strict gluten-free diet was well catered for. Gardens and houses visited were varied, interesting and enjoyable. 🌟

Very enjoyable four days.
The Guide and the Driver were very helpful and obliging. The Gardens visited were interesting and colourful.
Hotel very comfortable and food good. Staff very pleasant. For me a Ground Floor Room added to the enjoyment of the holiday.
It would have been helpful if the itinerary and joining times had been received sooner. Less than a week is not sufficient.
