A scam, not a credit card

Blocked a regular paying customer
I have had brim Mastercard for over 5 years. They were the best when they first started.
I don’t know if they are under new management but my card was blocked suddenly and I am required to pay 50% of used credit to reinstate my card. I am under 80% of of total credit available. I have never paid late and always paid more than minimum required.
They have the audacity to block a regular paying customer in good standing like a delinquent criminal.
Apparently, it’s a new policy. I will be cancelling this card and will never bank with them again. Absolute greedy crooked company.
Probably the worst card you could get
Probably the worst card you could get. Customer service is incompetent and gave no clue. I cancelled mine ASAP. Simply don’t go there and save some grief.
They call it a credit card?
I’ve had a Brim Financial credit card for 12 months, and during that time I was able to use it only four times. Nearly every other transaction was blocked for “fraud”, including completely normal purchases, like groceries or gas.
Each time this happens, the card is blocked out and I’m forced to contact their fraud department just to unlock it. Unfortunately, nothing is actually resolved during the call. I’m told to send an email and wait up to two business days for a response. For a credit card, this is simply unacceptable.
Customer service is extremely inefficient:
Repeated card freezes for routine transactions, no immediate resolution by phone, email-only follow-ups with long delays.
Rinse and repeat, the same issues happen again and again.
A credit card should be reliable and usable when you need it. This one isn’t. After a year of frustration, I can confidently say this is the most impractical credit card I’ve ever used.
I would not recommend Brim Financial to anyone who expects a card that actually works.
Stay away - pick any other card
Don't bother. Use any other card. It's not worth it. They will freeze your card almost every time you go to use it for >$1000. Even if you're making the exact same purchase every month from the same company. It's absurd. You have to wait on hold for ages and answer a zillion questions just to get it unlocked. Any other card is better. They don't even have the no FX fees benefits anymore - I can't imagine why anyone would use this card now.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS - WORSE SERVICE EVER
This card has been a disaster. Between app issues and randomly getting my card locked for no reason, I am finally at the point where I am just going to pay it off and cancel it.
Twice now this year, my card has been locked and put “under review” by their fraud department exactly at the moment I go to pay for my medication at the same pharmacy I always use. They never notify you, you just find out when you go to pay for something that your card is locked. You call customer service who then connects you to the fraud department - but don’t get your hopes up - they actually cannot help you in that moment. They make a “note” for someone else from the fraud department to call you back who knows when. Right now, for me, it has been 3 days. Last time, as with this time, it was blocked for no reason - just normal shopping. I don’t want to have to carry around every form of payment I have as this is not the safest, so it has been a huge inconvenience every time.
I am no longer going to use this card. I bought it for no foreign tx fees to use as a travel card but that perk does not exist anymore, so really, what is the point? Especially when I’ve travelled in the past and despite logging travel notifications on the app, the card was blocked irregardless of this service. This is definitely not the only means of payment you want to rely on travelling - not unless you want to be stranded somewhere with no access to credit without even being given a heads up.
There are other cards that offer 0% foreign tx fees. At this point, I would gladly pay the extra 2.5% to at least get ahold of someone who can actually help me right away if there is an issue with my card. I would pay an extra 2.5% to not have to deal with this company again.
This company has low reviews for a reason. The app store rates the app at 1.5 out of 5. Here, the company is rated 1.8 out of 5. Save yourself the headache all these customers have already experienced and don’t bother.

dishonest 3rd world business , sneaky fee's hidden on statements. customer service stuck in the 1970's , no communication whatsoever . Brim does not adhere to industry standards. Brim dispute department is none-existent, if you need to dispute any issues - good luck!
I had to dispute a small 100.00 dispute, after spending weeks faxing and mailing in documentation Brim closed the case, turned against me saying the documentation was not proper , when documentation was crystal clear. I can't imagine dealing with them on more complicated disputes.
Will never use this card again.

Brim Financial opened a CC in my name fraudulently. They stole my identity. MY credit is screwed. Thank you Brim Financial.
Can't protect you against scammers
I clearly got scammed while travelling with tempered bottles and couldn't not return them because I noticed after I left the country. So I made my research basically providing all the details they need to know about this and took them forever to ask for documents. When I finally called to check on my dispute because they put back the charge, I got told that there was not enough evidence. I had 13 pages of pictures and descriptions.
Their investigator don't know what they are doing and if you think you would be protected against scams, think again. On the other hand, I had an issue and Amex happily accepted my dispute.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY LIFE
First they waived the world elite to many people more than one time...not for me...second they were unable to send the credit card to the right address. Third...and not least they did NOT protected my rights as a customer when I did a chargeback...I lost 94.65$...fourth...they eliminated the free foreign transaction fee...so not worth it...AND WORST OF ALL IS CUSTOMER SERVICE....they still work with canada post (letter) not email...and are not there to help you...so DO NOT GET THIS CARD you'll be so mad and frustrated...
Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever. The company's web portal provides the wrong amount owing and then charges interest on the full amount due. Then they refuse to refund the interest even after admitting they are at fault.
A shell of its former self
This used to be a card I would regularly use, however 1) I literally had to call 5 times to get a replacement card. It took several months to arrive, which is utterly ridiculous; 2) Recently, there has been a major devaluation of the card in terms of FX fees and cashback, which Brim has the audacity to call an optimization. When I emailed them regarding this terminology, they double downed on it being an optimization, which is preposterous.
Overall, there are numerous no fee cards with much better rewards and much better customer service.
They changed the rules during the game
They changed the rules during the game. Effective May18 th,2024, they are charging 1.5% on exchange rate plus 0.5 % on every purchase. Promises, promises. This is how they will loose everybody. Poor and dishonest advertising.
Save yourself the headache
The only thing I like about this card is you get notified every time you use it. Everything else sucks. I needed to call two times to get a physical card for myself and twice as well to get a physical supplementary card for my husband. The card arrived after two weeks in both instances. My husband's card did not arrive on time for our trip. They also got my husband's email wrong and would have to wait for a week to get it right.
Impossible to dispute an unauthorized charge with Brim
An unauthorized $2000 charge from a car rental company was made on my Brim card. Brim took my 'dispute the charge' statement by phone and said they would send me the forms to officially lodge my claim against the transaction. Three months later and the forms still have not arrived. I have called customer service four times. Do not use Brim, the small amount you save in foreign transaction fees does not outweigh the inability to get them to fight a fraudulent transaction on your behalf. Stick with Visa and Mastercard in my humble opinion.
Excellent from start to finish
From start to finish, my experience with this company has been stellar. Customer Service is excellent with reasonable wait times (unusual). They were responsive to requests for my initial card and credit increases. Even when my card was hacked while travelling internationally, they had me established with a new digital card in minutes. I appreciate no foreign transaction fees and the transaction advice with each charge. Recommend highly.
One of the best deals I ever made
I applied to their mastercard mainly to use it when travelling as it offers 0% foreign exchange rate. I read the reviews here and some complained about the application process and their customer service. Actually, the application went very smoothly and I was approved in no time and received my card. I left a travel notice in the app that I am travelling to Mexico and left the specific dates. It is a great feature in the app as you don't need to call customer service for this. I am just back from my trip and I have to say that card was a life saver there. No one single transaction was declined. It saved me a lot of fees I used to pay with the other cards that charge 2.5%. And guess what, cash back on some foreign transactions too!! Not a lot but still some cash back. Another awesome feature is the Boingo free WIFI that card offers. It was useful for me at some airports in Mexico where no free wifi was available but Boingo was available. Definitely a great card and I highly recommend it especially during travelling abroad.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE! I had called in to downgrade my Brim card from the World Elite to the Standard and had previously talked to a customer service agent who walked me through the process. When the process they had indicated did NOT work, I called in again. This time, the new agent was extremely disrespectful and rude and gave a completely different answer to a basic question from what the first agent had told me. When I had pointed out that their answers were different and asked for clarification on why I was receiving two different answers to one basic question, they immediately called me "disrespectful" then threatened to hang up on the call for my tone. I was visibly frustrated because I was getting no straightforward answers and different answers and still speaking to them in a professional manner but they simply hung up on the phone on me. These agents are clearly untrained, not knowledgeable at all, and unable to provide basic customer service and should NOT be working in this field if they are unable to do the most basic tasks.
Smooth experience
I signed up for the Brim World Elite Mastercard and the application process went very smoothly.
I got access to my card details through the website. The website has worked properly every time I have used it, and I am generally impressed by it: the ability to search for additional cashback reward offers is great! The features of the card I have used have worked exactly as expected (no FX fee, e-shop offers, first-time purchase offers, redeeming cashback).
I have not used the mobile app.
I have not received my physical card yet, and judging from the other reviews, it may be a bit of a wait. It is not too much of an issue however, as I have been able to use the card at brick-and-mortar merchants perfectly fine via Google Pay.
I received a fraud alert
I received a fraud alert, called in to their customer service in mid May 2023. Their representative promised a replacement card in 2 business days. I called back a week later because a) I hadn't received the card and b) I was about to travel in a couple weeks and I wanted to use the card while away. It was during that second call I assured the card was enrout however it never arrived. Plus my partner tried to use her card in the US and it was declined. That was a second time after it was declined throughout Italy last year. I would not recommend the card for poor service
