Brim will steal your money

Brim will steal your money and charge you interest for stealing it. Brim denies that payments were made on my card when my bank confirms the money did go to them. They claim they don't have a record of the money that went to them and asked for a screenshot of my bank transaction payment.. A complete mess and utterly non professional for a company that wants to be financial institution. Don't trust them,

Corrupt Company - They know they have no legal oversight and take advantage of that

After many declined transactions (just technical difficulties on their end with no real explanation), and many discussions with Customer Service, I decided to cancel my card because they were a TRAIN WRECK. I made sure to pay my statement in full, knowing that my final statement would be a credit owing back to me. They would not refund my credit, and demanded personal banking information to be emailed to their General Mailbox! They also suggested I get a cash advance on the card, which they would then refund me for any charges. (Why not just refund me this credit then?) I have reached out to both the Provincial and Federal oversight agencies for who is supposed to be overseeing Brim, but because they are a "Fintech" company - NO ONE DOES. Not the FCAC, the banking ombudsman for Ontario, the FSRA nor the OBSI! I even reached out to Mastercard themselves, and they are unwilling to enforce basic payment processing regulations on them. They 100% know that they have no oversight and are happy to take advantage. Never, ever, trust these criminals with your business.

My wife holds a Brim Financial card and…

My wife holds a Brim Financial card and I cancelled mine about a year ago. I inadvertently paid my closed account and contacted Brim a month ago for a refund of $389. I was assured the funds would be direct deposited into my account that week. I am still waiting and have contacted their CS 3 times and have been assured my refund was on its way.

Dishonest company policies

Dishonest company policies! Company is not transparent and do not tell the truth about ongoing fees even once paid account in full so be careful as this can affect credit rating.
Used once and paid in FULL yet there suddenly appears an unexplained charge of interest on interest on a monthly basis albeit small!

Great when launched, forgotten since then...

It looked like a great card to get back when they first launched but since becoming a customer, I feel like they forgot about us. Nothing new or exciting, nothing has changed for the better. At this point, there are better CCs out there to a point where having a Brim is no longer worth it. All of the exciting benefits offered at first are now an "included" option with competitors with better deals and interest rates. Their CS has been great the few times I've needed to call. Their World Elite MC is not worth the $200 annual fee.

Installment plan a scam /misleading advertising

I am cancelling the card asap. The installment plan option is absolutely misleading. I made a purchase of more than $500 (not resto or groceries) and they blamed me for the fact that I had used points on the purchase and even though the balance was still over $900 it disqualified me from the installment. Utter sophistry. This after 4 calls and lots of time!!

ZERO STARS!!

Absolute worst experience from a financial company. They made multiple errors on an instalment plan that was setup and one of their supervisors acknowledged the discrepancy & error and then blamed me not getting it right - unbelievable!
When you call to ask for support, they say you have to email their support email who take approximately a month to respond to basic inquiries/questions - appalling!
Even when i closed my account today, the supervisor i spoke with was extremely unprofessional & rude.
How can we trust a financial company with our finances when they are so blatantly incompetent, unprofessional & lack any financial integrity????

Just an absolutely HORRIFIC company

Just an absolutely HORRIFIC company. About 20% of my transactions do not go through and no explanation is provided. They do not call, email or text to inform me my card has been blocked. When I call them, the agents never know what is going on. They put me on hold frequently to go talk to other people and come back without answers. I ask to speak with someone who knows what is going on and I am not allowed to. This company is simply horrific.

Not polished

Social media not frequently updated, lack of transparency, they need a marketing/communications person in there. The apps that have poor support and can go many months without updates. For example the android app did not have an update in 5 months. The iphone app was updated 2 months ago, but people have been complaining at botched features like face unlock implementation issues and application within the app.

We are happy to announce that a new Android update will be available soon. The new version will include enhancements that have been requested by our Cardmembers.
