No surprises transaction. Would use again.
British Bullion (Newcastle) did not offer the best rate when I was looking to sell my gold bullion. Nor did they provide details of how they arrived at the offer they made. Others offered up to 2.5% more against the live gold price. However, for personal reasons it suited me to sell to a local dealer rather than sending gold bars through the mail or courier.
The staff were professional and, with the exception of not clarifying how their payment was calculated, were clear about each aspect of the transaction.
British Bullion are slow to make their payment for the gold, quoting 7 to 9 business days (up to 2 weeks) when we left the gold at their premises. The cash arrived after 6 business days. In 2025 it should not take that long.
Update following reply:
The prices paid are determined by the spot gold price times a percentage. Some dealers offer up to 98%. British Bullion offered closer to 95.5%. To be clear, I was perfectly satisfied with the service and deal I received. I merely highlighted a couple of points from the transaction.
