Switched to BT broadband hoping for cheaper price but I was wrong. I experienced poor customer service and poor connection. Within a day of going broadband live I was sent a bill the next day. Even then my broadband connection was not working. Getting hold of someone is futile.

Bt cancelled my broadband after 3 yrs without notice. Then tried to sell me another package which will take 2 weeks to install at a much higher price
I was happy with the Broadband service…
I was happy with the Broadband service and TV worked wonderful, but these last couple of days the Broadband speed has fallen from 500mb to 30mb and even less at times. This of course affects the TV channels and the TV pixelates on most channels.
This I am not happy with, as it seem BT are cutting back on the Broadband speed.
Rectify ASAP, otherwise as I am within 30 days of start of the service I have a right to cancel everything.
Poor service large price increases
Whenever the speed falls below the guaranteed minimum, the app has an error where it can't send a report to BT. Also I have with them 5 month and they have just increased my price by 8.7%.

I'm tied in now but a warning the broadband is slow with very poor coverage even in a small house
customer service what customer service!!!
Im picking up 27mbps and they try to sell me a booster which doesn't work
as soon as the contract is up I'm OUT!!
Pointless credit check. They do not care.
Moved into a home they already supplied. They offered full fibre as 'new in the area'. Open reach came out to mark the route from the junction box- they called to fix a date and I couldn't do it. Was told they cant book in advance so they will call me back. Had repeated messages to say 'we are working hard to get you connected'. They sent us the kit. Called up today because it has been a couple of weeks and the order has 'timed out'. No documentation of conversations, nothing to say this happened. The guy tried is best to raise a complaint but we've now been asked to send the kit back so I'm guessing its still timed out. What a waste of my time and a credit check. They do not care.
AVOID
I cannot believe how appallingly BT has handled this. As a business customer, the level of service we’ve received has been unacceptable.
We ordered BT Business Broadband in mid-December. It is now 23 January and we are still waiting for an engineer to attend site to install a simple ONT box. For two weeks straight, engineers have failed to turn up at all. The one engineer who did arrive came to investigate a fibre issue — despite us repeatedly and clearly explaining that the fibre is fine and that the previous tenant removed the ONT box, which simply needs replacing.
This incompetence has caused serious disruption and financial loss to our business. We will be seeking compensation for loss of earnings as a direct result of BT’s failure to deliver the service we are paying for.
My advice to any business considering BT or Openreach: avoid them at all costs. Communication is non-existent, promises are meaningless, and progress is painfully slow. At this point, it would genuinely be quicker to send a letter than an email — or read an encyclopaedia instead of using Google.
Awful experience to quit
The only reason for this star is for the reliability of their broadband service. They don't value existing customers and desperately want to overcharge them.
When my contract almost ended I called the customer service looking for offering, they offered me a price worse than new customer. When I mentioned about a package from other provider with 60% of their price and 3x the speed, they "respected" my decision to go for it, which is fine as that is their business decision.
So I switched to other provider but than they called me with a much better offer, I turned down because I had already signed up a new provider. When the contract ended I found that BT was still providing service so I called them to see what was going on. The customer service said the system shows the end date is 10 days after the contract end date, absolute non-sense and they asked me to return the broadband kits.
A month later I found that they still charged me the days after contract ended. So another call but they insisted to charge me a couple of days before I returned the kit. 3 months after contract ended I still haven't gotten the refund, it becomes a credit amount in my BT account!
I wasted at least 3 hours for this non-sense calls, one thing I want to mention is the customer service always ask you the reason to leave, the first and second times you may think this is a legit question, but they still ask you the same question after 5+ calls.
Generally broadband is a good and…
Generally broadband is a good and reliable service. It went down today for a couple of hours and was fixed remotely.
Only issue is lack of documentation. Until I logged a fault I did not know my service number! But I do now.
Overcharged on my account
Overcharged on my account - complained, 'resolved'...same issue next month ...no compensation offered...I challenged this, they offered me £10...joke. choose a different broadband provider!
2 stars because of Tyler
Only 2 stars because Tyler on support is great and gives regular updates. But cannot get internet for over 3 weeks because of Openreach.
Still receiving bills after cancelling contract
I cancelled my BT broadband on 21/10/2025, I moved to another provider who contacted BT, unfortunately I cancelled the contract with the new provider but I called BT and clarified that I will still go ahead with the cancellation. The person I spoke too asked me not to cancel the direct debit until they take the final bill and even organised for me to return their router. I received a bill in November which I thought was the final bill and paid. I thought everything was settled after returning their router. A few days ago I received an email regarding my latest bill. I called them today to ask them why they are still sending bills and yet I cancelled my contract over a month ago.The person I spoke to said the contract was never cancelled after the provider I had moved to cancelled and disregarded the fact I called to clarify that I will still cancel the contract. Apparently the provider I moved too should have called them to clarify. The earliest the contract can cancelled is the 15th of December 2025 two months of paying for nothing ,thanks to their customer service.
After having a good initial contact…
After having a good initial contact with Salesperson on 21st November ,I went onto order Broadband. I made the point that my current broadband was provided by my employer and that my job were telling us to find our own broadband and we would get an allowance for business use.
Therefore, I needed a seamless transfer of services as I constantly use broadband for work. I paid £30 for the set up and activation on 8th December.
Openreach cancelled my expert set up that I had paid for(their mistake) and now cant set it up on the 8th December , leaving me without broadband until a visit rearranged.
I have cancelled my order.
Not happy with service and lack of willingness to resolve.

Very Poor Customer service and when I placed an order for the upgrade they gave different quote then what was promised. Upon cancellation of my service they have made my network incredibly slow as I am leaving their services. Overall will not recommend to any onyone.
poor speeds, save your headache and avoid.
over time your internet connection will get slower and slower, support won't be able to help - save your time and money.
BT broadband good luck in trying to communicate with the staff at customer service
BT broadband. Customer Services need to get their act together. I phoned on behalf of my father who had vascular dementia. It was to arrange broadband for him. I spoke with Tara, Jenna and Louise and with each of them I had to get dad on the phone 3 times to say yes I give permission to speak with my daughter about my account. This was very frustrating for him he just wants to watch his TV he is 86. It was the most repetitive and monotonous call I have ever experienced with a service provider. Passed from one to another member of staff and each one clearly didn't know what the other person did on each department because I had to repeat myself and so did my confused father. I was on the phone atleast 1 hour probably longer, going through dads health and that he's on pension credit to get him a cheaper price. Louise was on the phone going through all this info I gave and then saying just hold please I am taking notes. Clearly she did not have a clue about the criteria for bt home essentials and she should! She asked me to ring dwp to ask about dad's pension credit. I already gave his NHS number and offered to send proof of the dwp letter, but because she couldn't do her job it was all a pointless exercise and after all that time on the phone she says call back in 5 days, we need to update system information. I kept calm throughout and when I challenged why had I been on the phone all this time and why is it 5 day's to update this information on the system. She proceeded to ask did dad walk with a stick or frame? What has that got to do with the Internet? She got an attitude with me. I hope a manager listens to this call I really do. It is pathetic you have staff who can't do their job because of lack of information or training. Whatever the issue is, BT need to sort it out and keep your staff training up to date and audit their calls. If you have a glitch in the system, atleast give staff the information to know how to answer questions a customer might ask instead of people like louise seeing it as personal attack and getting arrogantly defensive when asked to explain an issue.it was clear she did not know what issues had arisen and why, I just knew because of how she reacted and became frustrated. It was completely understandable that a customer asks why have I been on the phone all this time discussing packages and dads health and now you can't sort him out with a broadband package until I phone back in 5 days. I am fuming you wasted my time and frustrated the hell out of a 86 year old dementia sufferer who is now worried because Louise could not tally up his NHS number with pension credit. Do better BT and Louise I hope you find a job you are good at petal. Ps when you said I apologise I didn't believe it in your tone of voice. You made me feel like a nuisance even though I was calm and patient.
One * because you can't give zero!
Our BT hub started cycling off and vack on Monday lunchtime, I rang CS who fid the usual tests and 'identified' a fault in my equipment. I needed a home visit.
Tuesday a technician came to the house found no fault in my equipment and left.
Tueday pm the fault returned, Wednesday I called CS who arranged an Openreach tech for Friday 1-6pm. He didn't show up.
Gor anearly 5 days my broadband was useless.
I'm leaving them, I've finally had enough.
The incompetence of this company is unbelievable .
Despicable company cancelled over a year ago still getting bills even though I am no longer with them when contacted they blamed it on software problems I tell you people DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE INCOMPETENT. & no clue about anything
BT Broadband provides shoddy equipment
BT Broadband provides shoddy equipment. Poor remedial service and still sends paper bills. They are not cheap and best kept away from
Extra hidden costs
Put an order in for a business broadband deal only to find later that that I would need to buy a new phone hand set from BT which was not cheap in addition to the original cost. This was not made clear to begin with, consequently a lot of time was wasted. Needless to say I cancelled the order and am now looking else where. When it comes to BT buyer beware!!!
