I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received from Butters estate agent. They failed to communicate with me about the progress of my property sale, ignored my phone calls and emails, and redirected me to a head office that never returned my messages. They also recommended a conveyancing solicitor that was shut down by the CLC (Council for Licensed Conveyancers) the day before I was supposed to move. Butters did not inform me of this situation and I had to take time away from work and waste my time and money to visit their Hanley branch in person because they wouldn't answer my calls. This has caused me a lot of stress and frustration and I do not recommend them to anyone.

Service is improving
Have had a bad experience with BJB overall in the letting of my property, however, since been moved from Hanley to Crewe office and things have been much better. Been very impressed with my limited but productive contact with Marcin Strzelec. He has been very helpful even when not his remit to do so. Also has used his initiative on a small but necessary matter that I requested be completed.

Absolutely fabulous service, I dealt with all the ladies in the winsford branch, Sara, Pat, Lauren,Tresa and Sophie. The complete experience from day 1 of getting the house on the market to the end exchange was completely stress free, reassuring and so friendly and kind. I would highly recommend.

We have had an excellent experience with Buttersjohnbee estate agents in Congleton. Denise Mellor has been fantastic in keeping us informed and up to date with the progress of our property sale. She pushed our property and achieved the full asking price. Denise has great people skills and even better sense of humour that made the whole process more enjoyable.

Avoid! Use someone else in Creae
Avoid!
Trying to purchase a property, made an offer within 1 hour of viewing and waiting nearly a week for feedback when we have to be chasing. I would not trust these people to sell my house if they dont go back to buyers.
This is aimed at the Crewe branch specifically. Never answer the phone or emails.
Update - the manager did reach out to say he was off today and would contact tomorrow as per complaints procedure- guess what no contact. Not even an apology from him or even his director. Shambles

3 months of a sale only at week 1 due to Butters
Aweful, Trustpilot has 3.6 reviews Crewe 2.6. I wouldn,t recommend Butters for Shared Ownership properties, they have caused a March to May sale only to be at the 1st week stage of applying. Advised me the buyers had past at the start, but hadn,t, 3rd month still haven,t. I gave them a months head start before my purchase. They haven,t completed the necessary proof after the 3rd month, caused stress beyond belief, ignored calls chasing, never returned my calls week after week, until I witheld my number then answered, incompetant ruining my sale, my purchase and created costs I wouldn,t have occurred if they had got their facts right, to leave my sale 3 months having done nothing, and the Manager never gets involved to apologise or put right. I even received an email one Friday night at 9pm after several weeks of the sale stating that they had taken my house off the market inbetween the sale, the next day Gary the Manager emailed ignore it it,s an error, no apology to the stress I had at 9pm. The Housing association said they dont send the correct ID or finances after the 3rd month Ive done in 2days my end for 4 houses. I've never known an estate agents like them. They have caused me hell. Their Alsager branch also ruined my mum's sale after 15weeks their Manager Amy on me chasing said "theres no rules on how long a property takes" rude, unhelpful and we are still in our houses due to them, it hasn,t affected them, just our lives. They focus more on all their annual leaves. I've cancelled a holiday and courtcase due to stress with this agent having to do their job for them, they charge ridiculous costs to previous agents before and incompetetant for 3x the costs. It,s due to my determination thats gained the Housing association,s support to get this Agent to get their act together, but they still even now have not, after 3x the chances of getting them to "simply supply the correct proof of stage 1 week 1"!!!! Everyone I,ve told what I,m going through are appauled.They are affecting the buyer aswell as the seller.

It was amazing after I decided to leave my propery on rent, Steve was very professional and found the tenenant with 2 days and completly finalized the whole process with in 3 to 4 days.
He was also helping me to sort the EICR report from the person who did it, personally through facebook, Thank you Steve keep up the good work

Incompetent estate agents
Incompetent estate agents. They don't ring you back or provide any confirmation by phone or email about offers being rejected. They're untruthful & dishonest. We were told we had to go through their broker to get a good chance of getting a mortgage as there were other offers. They then told the seller not to go with us and to go with another couple (who then pulled out and we were asked if we wanted to put an offer back on).
Clearly chasing commission and primarily on the sellers side not the buyers. We wasted a ridiculous amount of time back and forth with them and got nowhere, I absolutely do not recommend you sell or buy here.

Phoned about commercial property that they are advertising. They have No details, other than 3 pictures. And don't know any info either they can't get in touch with owners, so butters just don't call back. Great company procedure that.
5 th time I ve used this firm. And all 5 have been very disappointing.
No wonder people avoid a property, if it's got a butters John bee sign.

Incompetent…
Phoned and emailed to view a property for three day told someone would call me back , no reply. Managed to arrange a viewing which was then cancelled due to someone else having the keys. Arranged for the follow day only to be cancelled again but they were able to do the viewing later in the day at a time I had distinctly told them I was not available.

BJB property management found lacking
BJB property management has to take accountability for the appropriate maintenance of all their property which I am disappointed to say that they have failed at and are so incompetent at. Sadly enough this sort of practice leads to business discontinuity as customers are left very dissatisfied.
