Avoid c2c and take another route.
Absolute joke of a train line. Trains lately are constantly delayed or cancelled. Station staff don't seem to care or relay information regarding delays. The trains are disgustingly dirty, lowly/seldom maintained. Customer service over the phone are just so rude and obnoxious when you contact with an issue and there's never a response at all to email!
Given the cost these rip-off merchants charge their customers to travel is beyond disgraceful! What does it matter though. This is just another long list of complaints which they won't give a damn about! Take the money, forget the customers.
This company needs to try so much…
This company needs to try so much harder to keep customers happy. You have to pay a ridiculous amount to use uncomfortable, overcrowded trains in peak periods. Added to this is appalling customer service help should you need to call them
I had a delay and claimed, even though I have their smart card, they can not issue an e-voucher for the refund. The year is 2023 and all they can do is post a paper voucher out costing them considerably more and now have a backlog to send out so over 2 weeks later I have no refund and am still waiting.
I wish there was a rival company for the South Essex line as they may actually pull their finger out and either give customers value for money or reduce the fares to reflect their poor trains. It is too easy for complacency and lack of vision for a company with no rivals.
Bad train times early morning
Bad train times early morning, either late or early during the 5 am slot. Train left 4 min early wouldn’t let me on… need to be at airport in 3 hours
Poor service every day
Poor service - no will to make anyone’s experience better or improve. Doesn’t listen, doesn’t deliver.

The 8:02am train from Barking to…
The 8:02am train from Barking to Fenchurch Street station seems to be delayed quire frequently. For instance, this morning and twice last week. What's wrong with C2C? They used to be really company but now they are going downhill.
Dirty trains/no bins

Rude staff and extortionate prices
Staff are rude and unhelpful. The prices are extortionate (5.60 for a return that goes 1 stop is a joke!). Trains and stations are always dirty, for the price people pay you would have thought c2c would be able to keep things clean.
Trying to get hold of the Booking…
Trying to get hold of the Booking Service for school trips is a disaster. I have lots of children looking forward to end of term trips but C2C cant be bothered to reply to emails or pass me through to the people that can actually help. All I kept getting was send an email, email, email! No point in sending emails as we get no responce from them or confirmation that they even received my query. It is a shambles and needs fixing right away to stop the hassle of ordering tickets for school trips. I wouldnt mind but we have to pay for tickets, it's not like we're getting them for free!
Please sort this out immediately please. Thank you

C2C refusing to give out refunds your entitled too!
Received an email from c2c on 12/05/23 telling me they had cancelled 6 of my daily tickets on my smartcard due to a system failure and that I need to get in touch via email to get a refund sorted for these cancelled tickets. Numerous unhelpful emails and phone calls later c2c are still refusing to refund these tickets even though I have provided them with all the proof they have asked for to confirm I did infact purchase the tickets that were cancelled. My last email sent to them was on 21/05/23 and that email has outright just been ignored by c2c. No acknowledgment and no response. The people that I have dealt with over the phone and via email have been incredibly unhelpful passing the blame off to one another. Useless.
No WiFi and dreamy station
If you need to use the WiFi I would advise using Greater Anglia if you can. It's a bit more expensive but their WiFi almost always works. C2C WiFi never works on computers and is really hit and miss on phones. I knows it's free, but they're still advertising something they don't really have.
Also, Westcliff station is wholly inefficient. The ticket machines often don't work very well and there's only ever one member of staff in the ticket booth and they're always really slow. This isn't my experience today, or yesterday, or last week. This is my experience every time, consistently, entering Westcliff station is like entering a dream state, like being trapped in a crystal by the Goblin King, where all time is forgotten.
I was there once and, as usual, there was a queue to get a ticket. But it was because three members of staff were all talking to this one person about his enquiry, a great use of everybody's time. It took them ten minutes and I missed two trains.

I paid for train ticket on c2c website that failed to go through on their system. After several phone calls to them and my Bank, they said the ticket charge would be refunded!
I went into my Bank earlier today but there is no sign of a refund ( i guess this will take 3-5 working days to go back in.)
I won't be using their service again due to this bad experience!
In future I will be finding alternative methods of travel when visiting the capital as your "system" cannot be relied upon.
For feedback I would only score your company 0-1 on this occasion. I will spread the word as well on my experience.! Rubbish company as previous people have confirmed !! Trouble is there is no "Customer" in Service these days !!!
C2c reduced me to tears and made me miss my train due to their technical error
I am a regular customer of c2c and get the train everyday because I have to, to get to work and there’s is always problems but can’t complain constantly because they happen consistently. But today was different as the customer service team at benfleet station reduced me to tears due to the fact they made me miss my train, made me feel like it was my fault and made me feel like a criminal even though I had purchased a valid ticket and the real issue was the smart card system was not working. They were so rude and tried to make me feel at fault saying I should have got to the station earlier and it wasn’t their fault even though I got their 5 minutes before the train and went to the machines and to the security person and then to the desk. However they would not let me through the barriers until after I missed my train and continued to tell me all the things I should have done even though I clearly had a valid ticket on my phone. They also made me show that I had a valid railcard, making me feel like I’d done something wrong even though I'm a regular customer that pays. But I also want to point out that even though they let me through the barriers after the train had gone, the smartcard system still was not working and for some reason they chose to make me miss my train. Clearly they just wanted to make me miserable and feel inferior. Rubbish service and ridiculously overpriced. But I have no choice because I have to get to work and have no other option to get in.
C2C,The journey to REALITY!!!
C2C is supposed to help people reach their destinations however it does quite the opposite thing. If people choose to take a train in order to get to work or school, in general anywhere they can forget about arriving there on time or at all. Trains are cancelled and journeys are either terminated or distrupted and The only reason givin is apparent signal problems in areas such us East and West Ham but who knows if this is reality or just and excuse used to keep people there. The conpensation they offer or mention at least will not be able to change the circumstances which can affect a persons future especially the ones of Students who are ready to learn and take a step which can affect their life forever.
Absolute joke of a company
Absolute joke of a company! Very bad services! Always canceling trains without notice and you have to wait another 30 min for the next, especially in the morning. They are striking for better pay and better conditions, but the truth is their license should be revoked and gave to another company. Not to mention the fares, to the sky!
People have to go to work, not needing this transport just for fun!
Transport (TFL) is a joke in UK, comparing to other countries in Europe.

This company is shocking. I have been using them for a few years for commuting to London and it was bad to start with and has got worse over time. Customer service is poor, reliability is poor, the trains are horrible, security is an afterthought, even the company website is a mess. I can’t think of a single reason to use them other than they have the monopoly on rail travel from my location. I’m pretty sure a supermarket chain could run this service better than this bunch of money grabbing extortionists.

I have been getting the c2c for the past few months to get to University and not 1 of these days has it been on time. There is always a fault or failure. Not acceptable when you pay and plan for a service to get you to your destination on time!!
