Absolute garbage company. Most likely a bunch of monkeys would manage it better than it is now. Tracks are made of pasta or play doh. Ticket prices are horrendous for what they offer in return.

I have been getting the c2c for the past few months to get to University and not 1 of these days has it been on time. There is always a fault or failure. Not acceptable when you pay and plan for a service to get you to your destination on time!!
This company should to be reliable
This company should to be reliable, instead today the service is unacceptable.
Without notice, in the middle of the journey they change stops without notifying the people who are travelling.
I do understand there can be emergencies but there is no respect for the passengers who are paying the service.
Ticket machines are a scam - no option to complain online
It was my first time using this service, having to travel from Limehouse station to Basildon.
I had purchased an online ticket. That was a mistake, as it seemed that I could use my oyster card to enter the train station in Limehouse (when leaving the DLR station, they are connected). In fact, there was no way to collect my pre-bought tickets unless I exited the DLR station, and then enter the C2C station via a separate entrance. Sigh. Fine.
When returning from Basildon the same day, I decided to use my oyster / contactless card instead of buying another ticket online, as the ticket collection experience is a nightmare (long queues, you need a purhasing bank card etc). BUT.. apparently the gates didn't support oyster / contactless cards despite seemingly being able to accept so (they had the yellow card reader that every tube station has). Then I had to wait in the queue to buy a ticket from the machine (I would have to wait anyway in order to collect an online ticket, as they don't do QR). When my time to use the machine came, I was quickly presented with about 6-8 options, all RETURN tickets to several places, with several prices. No option to choose a single ticket (not sure if there was another menu, but I genuinely had seconds to buy my ticket as a big number of furious people were waiting behind me to buy / collect their tickets). SO I was forced in essence to buy a return ticket (AMEX wasn't accepted, so i had to repeat the process and use another card which added to the stress). Very bad.
Then the following day I tried to complain online only to get an automated message that I have to go to a C2C STATION (what on earth!!) and collect a complaint form... the whole system seems either like a carefully designed scam or a very VERY lazy business when it comes to customer service. I'd say scam, as the way the ticket machines work is really bad and forces you to spend more money. Unfortunately I'll have to use them again but please DON'T if you absolutely don't have to.
The train iself was good, on time, fairly clean and regular.
No tickets received after payment. No refund for a month.
Tried to buy tickets online and reached the payment screen. After entering my card details and clicking on confirm to pay. I was taken back to the previous page so I entered my card details and payed again and once again I was returned back a page without receiving an email confirmation of the ticket dispensing code. Without which I am unable to collect the tickets at the ticket machine. I checked my bank account and sure enough the money was taken from my account - twice. I have just requested a refund but was required to provide a screenshot of the confirmation email I never received and not only that bit it will apparently take the 28 days, a whole month just to process the refund. I'm guessing I have to buy the ticket a third time in person later today because I have work to get to and can't sit around for a month for a refund I'll probably be robbed off. At this rate I'm just considering moving to London. I can't be asked to deal with a new problem every few weeks with this incompetent rail service.
Obviously thought there was a train strike so didn't bother to run an acceptable service when strike was called off.
They are probably the worst train company ever. They make changes to services when they fancy it & unless you're a clairvoyant you never quite sure when they will be running, consequently you can never book a night out in London unless you like being stranded.

Every weekend there needs to be a problem with the trains. A refund is not enough when wasting your time in the station is taken in consideration. Their trains are always delayed or cancelled or they never run properly to their destination and you need to get off at a station then take the bus to your final destination. This is absolutely disgusting. For paying the price that the ticket is, you would at least expect proper service. Not in this case.
The c2c men specifically at Basildon…
The c2c men specifically at Basildon station are EXTREMELY RUDE.
So many different situations and I never write reviews for anything but they are so rude something needs to be done with not even the way they speak to just people but uni students also. I buy my tickets on my phone and they say I have to collect it which is fair enough but last week I was coming back quite late from uni and I had bought the ticket on my phone and then I went to collect it and he gave me a dirty look and was like to me what if I wasn’t here and then I said well then I would show proof that I have bought my ticket to the man and he goes no you can’t do that. Well what other solution would I have? And he was just being so rude for no reason. If that is not a form of evidence why the hell can we buy them online if we are in that situation?
Also yesterday my ticket wasn’t working and so the man was letting people through and they had already shown their ticket and he hadn’t spoken to me but when I showed him mine he went “I said go” in quite an aggressive way which was unnecessary and rude yet again.
They staff are so rude and there is no understanding. The same issue used to happen to me at Southend central too and the man was so rude to me that he 1 made me cry 2 would not let me through even though I was explaining to him that I got my travel funded and I was showing him proof that I did but there was just a problem with something to do with it that day and he made me separate from my friends on my own in the dark and wanted me to walk all the way around Southend central station in the high street in the dark on my own and I wasn’t even 18 at the time and even a couple members of the public stepped in because they could see how stressed I was getting. There is no understanding and no sympathy. Respect if given where it is showed and with 90% of C2C staff none is shown what so ever.
A very frustrating experience
Buying tickets online and via the app is unreliable as the payment usually does not go through for whatever reason and it can be very frustrating. The error caused me to believe something was wrong with my card, making me call my bank and making other online purchases to verify my card was not blocked or at fault but rather the c2c online service was at fault. Therefore I had to purchase my ticket at the counter on the day and encountered a longer queue than expected, causing me to miss my train by 2 minutes so I had to wait an additional 20 minutes for the next train making me late to my destination. Overall the whole experience was very frustrating.
Epitome of white collar crime
Absolute criminals. Operate a poor service. WCs , most likely law to have for length of journey, are either faulty and not usable. Unhygienic and rarely cleaned even in pandemic.
Fares are extortionate. Profits sensational .
Really poor customer service…
Really poor customer service communications.
Smartcard has multiple issues and you have to email the team to resolve any issue which is a lengthy and laboriously difficult. This company is happy to take your money, but extremely slow to give it back. Please sort this out!
Non stop on strike the greedy…
Non stop on strike they greedy for money. Bad company always delayed late can go on
Useless! Avoid it if you can!
It’s a shame that government is giving license to this useless companies like C2C to operate public transport. Cancelled, cancelled, cancelled. Warm weather only for certain directions! Train showing approaching the station and after seconds train cancelled without announcing anything as a minimum!
You’re not able to manage a donkey not train. (Upminster 19/07/22 19:00 19:42….still here!)

Today 19/07/2022 I was on my way to Westcliff. I met such a helpful and friendly staff at Upminster station. Martina made my day today, she was open, friendly and professional. She kindly helped me to get on a right station.
Martina was very organised and delivered a great customer service even in 40 degree heat.
Yana.
Their collection machines are a total scam, don't buy online tickets for someone else and do not use a virtual card
Total scam, you buy tickets online then you can't collect them at the station because the kiosk is asking for a cars to be put in, what if I bought a ticket for someone else? Or what if I uses a virtual card.
Such a scam, thst they can't have the option to enter the collection code to print it.
You have to go to the ticket office, and wait in queue, so why do you even sell tickets online?
c2c Such A Slow Service
I have used this railway since 2005 Chalkwell - Fenchurch St. This is an honest review, I will start with…I couldn’t fault this railway 2005-2015! I couldn’t it was perfect! Since 2015 i hate it, it deteriorated when they changed a perfectly good timetable, which was met with big protests, but they still didn’t listen to their customers and went ahead with the new timetable, and month by month the service got longer and more overcrowded trains! c2c are more concerned about looking after passengers use the service from West Ham and Barking! They have also made this a metro railway, stopping at every stop! If you live between Shoebury and Benfleet expect painfully long journeys as most trains take 50-65mins to Fenchurch St due to the amount of stops! There is only one fast train between 6-9 am, from Shoebury taking 1hr! Which is so poor! Not only are most journeys slow it is incredibly busy (Tuesday to Thursday) seating is limited once you reach Chalkwell, again extremely poor! Monday and Friday are not too bad due to working from home people! Complaining, don’t both they don’t listen and spend most of their time patting themselves on the back proclaiming they provide a brilliant service! The biggest joke was earlier in the year they did a satisfaction survey which scored 99% of passéngers were happy with the service, do you know how many passengers took the service 72! I think the 72 were Friends and family! I’m sorry but 72 people is not enough to do a decent survey!!!! The less I have to use this railway the better, which is a shame as if it was a faster service I would go into London more! But at the moment I can’t wait to do a one day week in the office!
On a train 1640 at Basildon.
On a train 1640 at Basildon.
Been told we have to wait an hour as there is a problem at fen church street.
Two weeks ago stranded on a c2c train , they told us someone jumped in front of train ( compleat fabrication)
Rail strikes all the time.
Since the 90 s we have been told delays are to improve travell
Nothing has ever improved.
Please can we make transport back in the hands of the government
These are selfish money grabbing jokes who have no right to run England’s trains.
Stop
Stop
Stop
People of England!
Stop them from running our trains
All these disruptions have left us out of pocket, but there management is not.
If a private company did not provide a certain level of service no one would use them and they would go out of business,
This is not fair they survive and take bonus’s
Remove c2c trans genatailer
A slightly underrated railway
c2c is a great railway in my opinion. I have used it quite a few times and the quality is very comfy and a nice, colourful, short network.
I like the fact that the network begins alongside thE DLR and goes through East London as I seem to be a fan of the East side of London. I think it is an uncomplicated simple 1 hour journey to Shoeburyness and meets up with Greater Anglia twice being London Liverpool Street and Southend Victoria as a short walk away from Southend Central.
I like the space on their trains, the class 357, and has room for a lot of capacity. Unfortunately not a lot of people tend to use this railway which upsets me as it seems like a nice and quick ride to the Eastern seaside. I also do like the pink theme onboard these trains and I wish the Liverpool Street and Stratford routes were used more often.
Iv just been on a c2c train to Southend…
Iv just been on a c2c train to Southend from barking , train stopped for 30 mins , they told us a fatality on the tracks 20 mins before we went back .
Boarded a train ten mins later ( track reopened)
We went past Dagenham, where the incident happened.
No body on the track no police presence, no sign of investigation!
Liars !!!!!!!!
I’m fed up with c2c s fabrications
The worst company ever to manage…
The worst company ever to manage trains! Always one of the ticket machines is not working, sometimes both. The desk is opening whenever they want, staff is coming whenever they want and always on the phone talking to someone!!! Rubbish company with rubbish employees.
