Broken ride! What’s the point of going

Visited Cadbury World today with the family and unfortunately the main ride attraction was closed for the entire visit.

The disappointing part was that this was not communicated before entry and no goodwill gesture, discount, voucher, or return offer was provided.

We appreciate technical issues happen, though when one of the headline attractions is unavailable it does significantly affect the overall experience and value for money.

Staff were polite enough, though overall it felt more like walking through exhibits straight into the gift shop than the full experience we expected.

Very disappointing visit compared to…

Very disappointing visit compared to previous experiences.

I’ve visited Cadbury World around 3–4 times before with my children, and the experience used to feel much more exciting and worthwhile. Previously, chocolate was given at different points during the visit, including at the start and again before the ride, which really added to the overall experience for the kids.

This time, everything was given at once and each person only received two bars. While I understand changes can happen, this completely took away from the experience and felt like a significant downgrade compared to previous visits.

We had also booked an afternoon tea for five people (2 adults and 3 children), expecting something more premium, but it did not feel worth the price.

On top of that, the Easter advertising was unclear. It gives the impression that activities are running throughout the holidays, but key parts like the Easter egg trail were only available on selected dates, which was disappointing.

Overall, the experience no longer feels like good value for money, especially compared to what it used to be.

A real shame as we used to really enjoy coming here.

Queuing for the majority of the visit …

We have been to Cadbury world 3 times before this visit and had the best time, this visit however they seemed to have changed the set up.
Although im sure the change of set up was for good reason its now no longer Cadbury world but queue world.
Speaking to a member of staff they told us they had near 3000 visitors which was apparent when we spent the majority of the visit queuing.
I appreciate there are busier times and queues are to be expected but even the politeness of the great British queuing public was tested yesterday.
I think maybe there's a problem with over booking as we were also queuing and held up for the time slot we had booked.

It was ok - a one and done.

It was ok, I think they could do a lot more to be SEN friendly. Being funnelled around and made to Que in lines we didn’t want to do the activities of wasn’t great. Staff seemed short tempered.

So bad it's laughable

So bad it's laughable. We had to joke about it or I'd have spent the whole time fuming that I'd spent £86 for a family of 4 on this total disappointment. I've wanted to come here since I was a kid, and this was a special treat for my children. You've given your 3 'complimentary' bars of chocolate on the way in. A few screens which tell you about the cocoa bean, then some history on Cadbury. One of the highlights was the teaspoon of melted chocolate in a cup where you can choose 2 toppings. Then there's a huge queue to try tempering chocolate, basically spreading it about on a board, and you can't bypass the queue. That's the factory bit done. There was a 4D cinema which was the best bit and a mediocre outdoor play area. There are no chances to get refreshments on the way round, not even outside in the play area. Our tickets were at 4pm. I saw a board outside saying 'Freddos Circus' - the character comes out at certain times of the day to perform and have photos. His last show is at 4......so not available for the later tickets. This is unacceptable. Don't sell 4pm tickets if not everything is available at that time. I have never felt so stitched up from a day out in my entire life.

Cadbury world of pain

This place is awful! Long stressful queues that make the airport look calm. When I finally got to the ride it was the most awful ride I have ever been on. Cadburys you should pay people to come here.

Thank you Cadbury World

Thank you to the wonderful staff at Cadbury World for making our residents day great. From Johnny who kindly let our residents in before 10am so they could use the toilet. To Sheila who came over to see if our residents were alright and to introduce herself. Arturo in the cafe made us so welcome for afternoon tea and was very attentive. Our residents enjoyed the 4D experience, chocolate demonstrations and the hands on activities with chocolate. It's a day that made great memories for our residents and we will be back. Thank you Cadbury World.

High risk, very poor.

Car park pathways completely covered in ice, very dangerous getting from the car to the entrance. Get in and lots of staff just hanging about, no welcome, greeting etc, not sure where to go to. No one looked like they wanted to be there. Proceeded to walk past lots of very low budget 'attractions' which are basically advertising for Cadbury. Got my back twisted by the jolting of one of the 'attractions' .Very poor.

Cadbury bar HAS changed

Cadbury claim their new bar has only changed in packaging and the ingredients are the same. However the amount of cocoa mass and cocoa butter have changed. To me this has altered the taste and I do not like the new flavour. The cocoa solids may remain unchanged. I also find the new packaging appearance garish and vulgar reminding me of cheap 'bars'. A great pity probably to cut costs just a little.

Our visit to Cadbury World today was…

Our visit to Cadbury World today was meant to be a birthday treat for my wife, but it turned into a thoroughly disappointing experience.

As a disabled visitor in receipt of PIP, I was unable to book a carer’s ticket because my PIP award letter was not dated within the last two years, despite still being valid. This policy is rigid, outdated, and fails to reflect how long-term disabilities are actually managed.

When we proceeded to book anyway, the tickets were issued for the wrong date, which caused unnecessary stress on arrival. While staff eventually allowed us to proceed with the tour and afternoon tea, getting to that point was chaotic and left us feeling anything but welcome.

The situation was made worse when we were required to wait outside in heavy rain, with staff clearly present yet making no effort to offer shelter or allow us inside. The only shelter available was already waterlogged. For disabled visitors, this lack of awareness and basic consideration is unacceptable.

Overall, the experience was poorly organised, unwelcoming, and lacking in disability awareness. What should have been an enjoyable birthday outing was overshadowed by stress and frustration.

Cadbury World needs to urgently review its policies and staff training to ensure disabled visitors are treated fairly and with dignity.

Visited Cadbury World yesterday and…

Visited Cadbury World yesterday and left very disappointed. Long queues just to get in – we waited around 35 minutes, even though we had an allocated time slot, which didn’t seem to mean anything. Staff just shrugged and said “it’s always this busy,” which made the whole thing feel unorganised. People were queueing outside in the rain. They really need to look at how many tickets they’re selling or have smaller queues for each time slot.

If you enjoy standing in queues, you’ll be fine, but it’s not great for kids who get bored quickly. You also don’t actually see chocolate being made anymore, which was one of the main things I remembered from childhood. The machines and conveyor belts just aren’t there now.

The sound on the displays was really poor, making it hard to follow what was being said. The only positive was that someone was doing sign language, so ironically it would be easier if you were deaf than trying to listen.

The chocolate drawing tables are far too high for children, with only one lower table available. Why not make them lower or adjustable? There were also long queues for this, and the staff didn’t seem very friendly – more interested in chatting amongst themselves than offering any customer service. There was no soap at the wash station, and staff weren’t checking or maintaining it.

The café prices are ridiculous – £6.95 for a hot chocolate. The shop was okay, but once again the staff were miserable and unwelcoming.

Overall, not worth the money. I wouldn’t go back.

Disappointed.

We ( 2 adults 2 children 5 and 8 ) went in half term knowing it would be busy. But it was so busy we spent half an hour in queues for a two minute presentation or activity. Our patience ended after waiting half an hour to have 2 minutes using a plastic squeegee bottle to draw on a table. We decided to end the tour and let the boys enjoy the play area - which they did - but the kiosk serving hot drinks and snacks in that area was closed. I am so sorry to leave a bad review but the waiting and queuing spoiled our day which wasn’t cheap. My advice? Don’t go during school holidays and Cadbury management - look at your admission numbers. I know you want and need to make money - but not at the risk of unhappy customers and bad reviews.

Not Even Worth One Star

Absolutely awful. Took 11yr old grandson as we’d taken our kids some 25yrs ago when it was a proper tour of the factory and you could actually see chocolate being made. Now it’s just lots of queuing along dingy corridors for unknown activities which are totally underwhelming when you get to them.
Everything an exercise in trying to squeeze more money out of visitors. Tickets, shop and cafe all ridiculously overpriced. Avoid at all costs. Not even worth one star.

I’ve always LOVED Cadbury UK

I’ve always LOVED Cadbury UK. The chocolate is smooth, flavorful and rich in milkyness. My complaint is why did Cadbury sell the rights to Hershey in USA, to make the horrible chocolate that they do?? This was the worst thing to do, since they don’t make it anything as close to what it should be. Why tarnish such an established brand for royalties? Why not setup manufacturering and distribution there and honor the process vs accepting this low quality/standard of taste. It’s terrible and a shame that Cadbury was desperate to get into the US market through lowering the standards and caving into the methods USA practices

Long Queues

10 school/college groups on the day we went. Long queues with students pushing to front and the impersonating Kevin and Perry. Felt sorry for Cadbury staff.

I would recommend

I was surprised when I read these reviews as I had a completely different experience . My family loved it, especially the 4d experience and the ride at the end. We found the deals on the chocolate were amazing and were definitely cheaper then in a normal shop. We got 3 free chocolate bars at the start and a melted chocolate cup about half way through. The playground was a good thing to do when we wanted to eat lunch. It was an incredible experience.

Herded like cattle from one queue to another. No clear indication what we were queueing for. We had really looked forward to bringing our grandchildren. I had been before and I don't remember being herded along dark grubby corridors or up dark staircases. A notice said the rides were unsuitable for people with high blood pressure, back problems etc but we were told there was no alternative to avoid taking the ride .

The food was nice in the cafe but very very expensive!

I didn't enjoy the experience. Very disappointed.
