No easy way to unsubscribe or delete account

The Canada Drives website is fine and helped me in my search to find a new vehicle. Once I had purchased one however, I wanted to unsubscribe from emails and delete my account, but there is no unsubscribe button, and no article on their help centre on how to delete an account or unsubscribe. This shouldn't be difficult to do.
Update: they unsubscribed me and pointed out that some of their emails have unsubscribe buttons, just not all of them (not the one I was looking at initially).

Don't Expect to Get a Callback to Discuss Selling Your Car

One week ago, after inputing all my vehicle information, I was provided with the price Canada Drives would pay me for my BMW. I accepted their offer.

After 4 days of not hearing anything back I left a callback number using their automated system. No response. I repeated this the following day. No response back so I left an email.

The email response I got back was unsigned except for "Regards".In their message this unnamed person said
"Hi Gordon,
It looks like an agent tried reaching out a few times but your vehicle doesn't qualify for purchase due to a high claim total on the CarFax. It would qualify for a trade potentially though"

This is (being generous) incorrect. All my telephone lines are monitored and nobody called from Canada Drives. Not only that the CarFax information he/she quoted is also (being generous) incorrect. I am in receipt of my own CarFax Report #*****939 and it shows "No Records Found"

**UPDATE: Canada Drives provided a recent CarFax report which does show damage sustained in 2018 prior to my purchasing the vehicle. I contacted CarFax and received an explanation about not getting data inputs in a timely manner. Guess it means that a CarFax report is not the final say on whether a car has been in an accident.
This doesn’t change the fact that Canada Drives did not return calls in a timely fashion. Had they done so much of this could have been avoided. I have changed my rating from 1 star to 2 stars. **

On September 19 I sent the above information back to this phantom person and asked that they respond back to answer to the points I made and I suggested that perhaps someone has mixed up these reports.

To date nothing.

Poor customer service would be understated.

**2nd UPDATE
I was personally contacted by the manager and as a gesture of goodwill they have agreed to buy the car, albeit at a slight discount, given the "damage" issues that have arisen with this sale. The problem was not of their doing as it was a CarFax data upload matter so their response is quite refreshing.

With all that has gone on, with the exception of the the lack of returning my calls (which I'm advised will be reviewed in-house), I'm happy with Canada Drives responses to my concerns.**

Great experience all round

I listed my vehicle on Marketplace to test the waters and received a reply from someone that was interested. The buyer then explained that he works for Canada Drives and set the ball rolling. I gave them a tough time, asking a lot of questions to ensure it was all legit. The offer they made based on my info and photos remained the same even with the disclosed damages. It was amazing, because from past experience you always get less out than the dealer says. Within a week it was all done, vehicle collected and so professional. The whole team is great, well supported and I would recommend looking at their services if you want to sell your vehicle. Thank you team Canada Drives Airdrie.

Hassle-free car sale for a great price

I sold my car to Canada Drives, who paid 20% more than the dealership where I used to take the car for maintenance. I called them on Friday, their associate explained the sale process very clearly, I delivered the car on Saturday and got paid on Monday. Absolutely no issues, I would definitely sell to them again!

Avoid If You Can

The only reason I bought a car from Canada Drives was because I was in a rental and I needed to get out of it and that was supposedly a 24 hour purchase with zero hassle and zero issues but what a bad experience I had. I purchased a car on January 14 2022 from the Brampton location. I picked it up myself. They had me wait in the car for about 4 hours before the car was ready. They kept telling me the guys were delayed at service ontario. Anyways, I got the car with a temporary sticker (stickers were still mandatory at that time). I took it home that night after returning a rental I had to pay an extra day for because of the delay. I went the next morning to service ontario to properly register the car and the safety was expired. They gave me a safety from December 08 2021. I called Canada Drives and I was tossed around between 100 people. The person I was talking to you before "could talk to me anymore because it was past purchase issue". At that point I started to an english guy named Jeremy. I instantly felt something was wrong. Jeremy said he will send me a safety to my house WITHOUT GETTING THE CAR CHECKED/actually safetied, which is 10000% illegal. I took the car to a mechanic shop. They said the starter was faulty, the battery was bad, The rear breaks and routers were bad and needed to be changed. The exhaust needed clips i believe. And the windshield wipers needed to be changed. And one of the headlights wasnt working. I sent this information to Jeremy, who at the time didn't want to help me until i sent him the proof. After that I told him I was taking the car to Mercedes Benz to get it checked. I took it there and they advised me to report this to OMVIC. Which I definitely did. I got the car checked bumper to bumper from Mercedes and they confirmed most of the things and advised I get them done asap. I sent the information to Jeremy and he said he would just take the car back. I asked him for a car similar in features and price but he said he couldnt do that for me. He said Canada Drives would pay to fix the car and insisted to give me the safety before the car was properly safetied. I ended up getting the safety 4 days before I got the car repaired by Mercedes Benz. Which is 1000% illegal.

Our team apologized for these delays and sent you a $100 Gas gift card for the inconvenience. You chose rather than delay the delivery to take the vehicle that day with the temporary sticker and we would assist you in getting your vehicle fully registered in the next few days. A temporary sticker is valid for 10 days and we would not have been able to register the vehicle with Service Ontario if the safety certificate was expired, when we completed the temporary registration of your vehicle the safety certificate was still valid. The safety certificate was completed by an OMVIC-certified mechanic at Canadian tire and it was valid when we went to register your vehicle at Service Ontario. Unfortunately due to unforeseen delays and software issues with service Ontario they were only able to provide a temporary sticker. The day after your delivery you addressed your concerns about the safety certificate to our customer relations team. Our team was quick to assist you in getting your concerns addressed and any issues rectified, as well as getting a new safety certificate completed. You brought the vehicle into a mechanic shop where the diagnostics report showed a few concerns, our team was happy to assist you and covered over $3600 in repairs to confirm your vehicle was performing well. Safety is our top priority and our team was quick to resolve any issues the shop found during their inspection. All vehicles which require work after delivery covered by Canada Drives require a full diagnostic test to be completed before all repairs are approved as our team double-checks that the listed repairs are addressing the concerns mentioned by our customer. We covered the fee for the diagnostics report and the repairs to your vehicle, and our team worked diligently to get the vehicle's concerns addressed as soon as possible and back on the road. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused you, your feedback has been noted and if you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Got $5,000 more from Canada Drives

Sold my 2015 Camaro to Canada Drives. It was easy to get my offer. put the VIN online and answered a few questions. Then I went to the Chevy dealership and they offered me $5,000 less!!! so I then said sell to Canada Drives online, in a couple hours I was contacted by Reza. He asked me a few questions about the car, then sent an email. I sent some pictures and he called me a couple hours after I sent the pictures. The only hiccup was arranging for pickup of the car, they only had 1 slot that week and I wasn't available, changed to drop off Thursday and had the money in my bank of Friday morning.

Very Upset

My 2013 Audi was delivered on Aug 30, Sep 5 Oil was completely drain, reported Sep 6th morning, Agent advised me to take the vehicle to their recommended Mechanic, went to North York from Scarborough and the mechanic was very rude, no proper response, when I asked when he will let me know the result he said he need more time to diagnose, Canada drives offered me $50 for public transport until vehicle is fixed.
1, Less than 6 days facing problem
2, They must have arranged for drop and pickup
3, Telling me to use public transport, instead of offering loaner or covering Uber cost

My uncle and my friend was almost buying their cars with Canada Drive and now they are happy to see their service and going elsewhere.

Still dont want to return, I just want to my car to be fixed properly and until they must accommodate me properly.

I normally hate buying and selling cars…

I normally hate buying and selling cars, but I have just sold both of our cars to Canada Drives prior to going overseas for a year. From start to finish the process was excellent and we were offered a good price for the cars (esp. compared to a dealer). I was a little nervous dropping the cars off at the Richmond, BC site but that was also very well organized and the money appeared in our bank later that day. Ian Anderson (our Purchasing Analyst) was very good and explained everything clearly.

My one piece of advise for anyone using Canada Drives is be honest with the condition of the car, they are not like normal dealers, they are very fair with the odd scratch or dent, as long as you declare it.

Overall a great experience, we will definitely make Canada Drives our first stop when we return from our travels.

Quick, fair, professional.

I was selling my 2015 Honda Fit and gave them a call. After we worked out a price, we exchanged quite a bit of data (pics, videos) and they asked plenty of good questions about the car. They had a good handle on the car before finalizing the deal, and honored their original offer, no question. They were prompt, courteous and professional. Annie from the office and Karan Mann on the pick up team were excellent.

Sold to Canada Drives, it really was an easy process!

I was looking to sell my vehicle, and I approached a number of local and online vendors. Canada Drives was not the best price, but it was better than many. What sealed the deal was the fact that they would come and pick it up. (I live about 2 hours from their office).
It took a few days to schedule the pickup, and I was contacted a couple of times to keep me up to date.
Once set up, Manny arrived with trailer in tow and did a walk around/check of my car.
I had been completely honest on damage/dents when I applied, so there were no issues with his check. (Note: There was nothing wrong with the car, no lights on etc)
His check only took a few minutes, and then we exchanged paper work. He loaded up my car and we were done.
Money arrived in my bank account the next day without issue.

So, it was a really easy process, Annie did a great job explaining what she needed to give me my appraisal, and Manny did a fine job on the pickup.
Could I have got more $ privately, probably, but I didn't have to worry about getting robbed, beaten and the car stolen :) - losing a little on the sale for the convenient process with Canada Drives was worthwhile!

I would definitely consider them in the future when the need arises!

BEWARE OF THESE CROOKS

[  ] First off things were rocky from the start they kept calling and canceling because driver was sick or couldnt be in the area. all good. Finally monday 2 weeks later comes and they come. I hand him the ownership etc. Hes like i need to inspect the car and test drive it. And totally fine. The guys in the car started up etc checking everything another walk around and goes for a test drive. Drives it to the trailer to start loading. Gives me the ok all good. I go to remove my plates and while im finishing renoving the front plate hes like the check engine lights on. Im like  really? he says yeah. I said well it was never on and you took it for a test drive etc and nothing hes like i hooked up my obd to verify the vin and check for codes. So im like what codes showed up hes like i dont know. Im like so you plugged in your obd and now my check engine lights and you dont know what codes are showing up. Hmmmm this is a scam and now my check enhine lights on this is bs. This isnt my first car and your tricks to lower the price etc wont fly. Hes like are you sure the check engine light wasnt on? im like you inspected the car and took it for a test drive. And didnt see nothing and its right in plain view. Funny how you plugged in your obd now my check engine lights on and you cant even tell me the code but yet you already had the obd reader in.  So im like well read the code so he plugs it in and the code comes up u0073. A communication error. Probably from his chinese no name obd and disconnected it improperly. So their office calls me says i need to have it looked at now. Of course they screw it up and i gotta fix it. Beware of their scams and if your check engine light comes on miraculously after he plugs in his obd but no codes when he plugged it in first time to read the vin. Hmmmmmm. Then the driver leaves with my ownership. Been calling since yesterday. No call back and we are experiencing higher than normal call volume.  So I finally get ahold of these people. All they can do is mail me my ownership. Now in week 2 of waiting for it back or pick it up in brampton. Yeah so you steal my ownership then tell me i have to go from hamilton to Brampton to get it or they will mail it. Hmmmmmm. What scammers. Beware.

2 weeks later and still dont have my ownership. I will have to report it stolen

Update

A few days after this review i was contacted by several management guys who I voiced my same concerns with as stated earlier. I asked for my ownership and its location? Later found out they had already registered the vehicle to them. Yes even though the deal didn't go through the first time.

They did in the end try and make their mistakes right. They did offer to register the car back into my name pay the safety etc. And some compensation.

Or to continue with the deal with the first times offer, just visually inspect the car and take it away and do the deal like it should have gone the first time, smoothly. They also offered compensation for my time/hassle.

I appreciated the fact that they owned their mistake. They in the end, tried to make it right.

The second time went smoothly. Money was transfered next day.

Stumbled upon the canada drives website…

Stumbled upon the canada drives website while browsing for a vehicle on auto trader. Was a little sceptical to bye a car online at first but was impressed with the detailed pics of the vehicle ended up purchasing.my over all experience with customer service to delivery was A+++. With in two day car was at my door. The delivery driver was very professional and finished the transaction with ease.

Good service and very nice people

I sold my car to CanadaDrives and then dropped off my car at their used car receiving yard at Richmond where there’s no any bus stop nearby. A gentleman Nevpaul Aurora who works there offered to help and gave me a ride to Richmond Automall for free. What a nice guy! CanadaDrives also paid more for my car than any other used car dealers. It’s really a pleasant experience.

Sold my 2017 Dodge Journey to Canada Drives from the beginning filling out online info to get a quote to sell my vehicle. Was very simple
I accepted the proposed price by the online estimator and got a call within 24 hours from Ian Anderson after accepting online price. We discussed any issues sent him pictures agreed to purchase the vehicle.
Drove to Inspection station did a walk around with Daman
All interaction with Canada Drivers personal was top notch
My vehicle was dropped off at 1030 in the morning. Payment was in my account by 5 pm that afternoon
It was that simple
