CanSpace has always come through for me…
CanSpace has always come through for me when I have an issue. I have experienced a few web hosting companies in the past that have said we do not assist with that type of issue so I was pretty much on my own. The people at CanSpace support have never done that to me and I am impressed with their ongoing support. Based on my experience, I highly recommend them if you are looking for a company to host your website.
Excellent Technical Support
I received prompt and accurate support after submitting a request/ticket. This is not the first time I have received excellent help with a problem. We are a small non-profit, I don't have IT support on speed dial. CanSpace has been wonderful!! Clear. Solutions exactly as needed.
Best Support Team in the World
I've been a Canspace customer for about 7 years and rated Canspace a "5" because they are the best in the biz with customer support. We are not a big customer either or paying extra for faster customer support.
I use a lot of different software products in my business and provide customer support to my customers too. I aspire to be just like the Canspace team in my own approach to customer support.
My recent experience moving a domain and setting up emails resulted in a few problems. I knew that we would get a prompt reply to our questions. Our support tickets were answered promptly - usually in less than 30 minutes. This meant that our could keep moving. It took several tickets before we had the situation figured out.
Way to go Canspace customer support. You are the best.
Very limited self-serve registrar options
I use canspace registrar service only. Unfortunately they have no self-serve support for managing custom nameserver glue records (A and AAAA) or DNSSEC keys, so you have to open a support ticket everytime and wait for someone to manually change these things, every time you want to change them. On the plus side, they are fairly quick to respond.

Great service and support
We just migrated to a new server on Canspace and so far the support and help has been excellent.
I'm thankful to Neil, who's made himself available via email and phone and gone the extra mile to get us up and running.

I just have a very small WordPress based website that I use for my beauty business in BC. I am VERY basic with web-based stuff, but I managed to build my site entirely myself with the help of CanSpace and their hand holding. I couldn't possibly have done it without them, I am extremely grateful to CanSpace for helping me get started with my new business!
Solid VPS provider
The support we have been getting from CanSpace for our VPS has been nothing short of amazing. The actual specifications of our VPS are not dramatically different than what we had with our previous provider, but our site is loading literally 5x faster. Their support team really digs deep to find ways to optimize your server for your specific website and we could not be happier. Totally worth it to pay for a "fully managed" server than to be left on your own trying to figure things out. They also really go out of their way to explain the exact changes they made, and their support team deserves a lot of credit in general.
Awesome reseller host
We recently migrated about 20 of our reseller sub-accounts to CanSpace and everything has been very smooth so far. Performance is dramatically faster than our previous host, and most importantly the support at CanSpace is a million times better than what we have ever experienced in the past from any other hosting provider. These guys are awesome.
The good and the bad
In terms of speed and reliability for the price, I recommend it over any other major hosting companies, if you are in Canada (Ontario, especially). Although it looks like WHC may be slightly faster (by about 10%) but it does not justify the price difference.
Now... the bad part. Be prepared for major price hikes / downgrades every year. First year I was offered unlimited cPanel hosting accounts as part of reseller plan... which was then downgraded significantly to 15 accounts the next year. Fast forward to the following year, I was told they will be increasing all reseller price plans up by nearly 40-50% to accommodate recent price hike by cPanel company that they need to absorb (and warned there is likely to be more price hikes in the future). But upon investigating further, it looks to be a strategy they use to increase their revenue significantly (not just to absorb cost by cPanel as they like you to believe). I've looked into many other Canadian reseller hosting companies and they have not made a major price increase because of cPanel. Moreover, they now provide 20-25% price reduction if you purchase their annual or biannual plans. Previous years, there was no such price reduction. It just looks like bait and switch to me.

Excellent Reseller Host
We migrated over 30 of our cPanel accounts from another reseller provider to CanSpace about 2 months ago. CanSpace handled the entire process - all we had to do was upload the backup files and they took care of the rest. Unlike my previous reseller provider (who I will avoid naming), they actually go out of their way to help me with client issues and don't just say "sorry not our responsibility". They even take nightly backups of my accounts, saving me a ton of headache. Even though I was super nervous migrating this many accounts the process has been incredibly smooth and CanSpace has always been there when I needed support. My clients have also commented on the improved speed and performance.

So impressed with how they care for small-time customers like me, who has been on the cheapest plan for years. Neil and Jose went out of their way to help me with an issue that wasn't really their problem. Outstanding service and customer support!

We've been with CanSpace for over a year now and can't praise them enough. We use them for both our corporate email solution and our website host, and have experienced nothing but professionalism when dealing with their support team. Highly recommended!
The absolute WORST server to deal with
The absolute WORST server to deal with. Chiron is slow at the best of times,if you can even access it.Server times out more often than not.
Tech support is condescending and useless. Close tickets because they don't want to fix or deal with their junk.
Am transferring my 2 domains to someplace else. They could care less. Typical attitude from Day 1.
Avoid these guys if you want your emails to work and not end up in Spam/Junk folders. And if you want your website to stay up & running.
You state folks switch to you,as we did back in the beginning from somebody who was overseas.That wears off right quick when nothing works.I have had 5-6 tickets from day 1 and nothing ever resolved.Closed tickets right away and never fixed nothing.
Provided emails addys that my stuff was ending up in junk folders. Your reply was to try & up sell me another service.
The BBB has stories the same as ours.I should of done more research before switching to you. But seeing your in Toronto and have the typical Center Of The Universe attitude. Let my review stand and serve as a warning to other that are shopping for shoddy customer service and a company that doesn't back up their product. And if you wanna go legal on this,PLEASE!!!

Best VPS provider in Canada!
We have over 10 VPS servers with CanSpace and they were all on CentOS 6 as we've had them for several years. We were nervous about the upgrade process to CentOS 7 and had planned for a whole weekend to work out the kinks and get it all done. They literally had each server done in less than an hour and all content restored. We are incredibly impressed and so happy that we pay for a managed service - it's worth literally every penny! Thanks CanSpace!
Top notch Canadian host
We just migrated our accounting firm's hosting and email services to CanSpace and would like to send our sincerest thank you to their staff for making the migration so straightforward. There was no downtime at all during the migration process, and they helped ensure that the switchover for our staff was as painless as possible. We're also paying less than half of what we were before, when you factor in that we're paying in Canadian dollars now.

They need staff who know what they're doing and are able to investigate problems.
Just asked to have both my sites cancelled after 10 years of operation with other hosts.
Although I like my previous host a great deal I kept getting bounced off their server and he had to keep white-listing my sites to get them operating again, so I changed.
Things were fine at first, but since two days ago, both my sites began experiencing problems. My main site kept directing post links on the main page to 404 error pages and they kept telling me they could not find the directories for those posts.
THIS IS NOT HOW WORDPRESS WORKS as stated in this excerpt from gigapress.net.
WordPress stores the content of your posts and pages in the wp_posts table of your database. Because WordPress uses dynamic PHP templates to display your content, it does not store an individual HTML file for each page on your site.
Because of all this, and especially their lack of knowledge about a very basic Wordpress function, I don't trust that they know what they're doing.

As I told CanSpace, I did a considerable amount of troubleshooting and research myself before contacting their tech support.
In support of my belief this has all been a server issue, here is a described test from wpexplorer(.com/plugins-fix-404-errors-wordpress).
...If it exists, but showing up in a browser is a problem, then it is a server problem or a WordPress problem. For this, create 2 separate files- a html file and a PHP file and upload it. If you are able to access these files, there is no problem with the server and the problem lies with WordPress...
This is exactly what I did and the files did not come up at all - according to this it is a server issue?
It's all too easy to dump the issue(s) onto the client when the company staff are forced into territory that is beyond their knowledge or capability.
I did my due diligence before contacting them. Have they?
Leaving is my decision. I have decided to shut down both sites due to all this. Don't let this kind of thing happen to you and ruin your years of hard work.
I do, however, see that I made the right decision in leaving.

CanSpace is great
I have all my .ca domains with CanSpace for many years now and decided to finally move my hosting over to them after consistently receiving great support. My previous hosting company would NEVER answer the phone and I would have to wait at least 2 hours for a reply to any ticket. CanSpace has been the opposite - ticket responses are super prompt, and every time I've requested a call they were happy to reach out. I signed up for a month at first to test but just decided to commit and sign for 3 years for the discount. Very happy so far!
A bright spot in my gruelling week
A bright spot in a gruelling week. Felt raked over the coals by Blue Host, HostGator, and yes, HostPapa too! I will not regale with the agonizing details. Then I found CanSpace. They were so professional, so intelligent, the communication was so smooth. No hidden charges, and no contradictory charges as opposed to the aforementioned providers. All my questions and concerns were answered in less than ten minutes, whereas I spent at least 45 minutes with the others - and that was just for the sales process! I realize I'm in for a bit of a learning curve going forward. Forewarned and forearmed, so I'm ready for a bit of frustration. I know their support team will be standing by. I also know that web development services cost money, so I don't begrudge this. Thanks Canspace, for helping me to finally get started.
