I have dealt with this firm in connection with two sales now with another in progress and have found them attentive and efficient. Communication has always been excellent and requests for information always responded to promptly. I would have no hesitation in recommending them for your conveyancing needs.

I was assigned this company by home legal direct to deal with the sale of my mothers home. She is in a care home and lacks mental capacity. When quoting for the job I was going to be charged an additional fee because of the extra work involving the legal power of attorney. After two weeks i get an email from the solicitor dealing asking for my mothers death certificate and order of probate. When I telephoned she had not seen the paperwork and was unaware of facts.
Then spoke to the partner supervising the job she was next to useless still talking as if my mother was dead.She told me it was apparently my fault when I originally replied to the conveyancing assistant and should have included the solicitor and the partner on the reply. In this company it seems they dont talk to each other or copy paperwork to each other.
I have now been reassigned a new company of solicitors by Home Legal Direct but beware before employing this company

Avoid at all costs, impossible to get hold of anyone and they still owe me £1200 7 months after my purchase.
They were acting for the seller in my purchase of a property. Both myself and the seller wanted a speedy completion and if it had not been for my Solicitors persistence hassling them for information which was always missing or incomplete, we eventually managed to complete after 3 months no thanks to them, however the worst was yet to come.
They could not even provide a completion statement after several wrong attempts they provided an incorrect completion statement resulting in them owing me £1200. They take weeks to reply to my solicitor and are trying to blame the seller whom has been very helpful explaining the situation. They never answer phone calls or respond to messages.
I’ve been purchasing properties for nearly 30 years and have never experienced such an incompetent firm of solicitors (if you can call them that).
Legal ombudsman man complaint is underway.
Don’t waste your time or money on Carbon Law, life’s too short.
They also provide a complaints email that does not accept emails from email addresses that are outside of their firm, really useful. I expect this is to avoid dealing with the deluge of complaints they receive due to their incompetence.

Mary Ann was amazing throughout, always kept me informed. Never had to wait for anything. From start to finish everything ran smoothly. Brilliant service!

Moving house is stressful no matter what but Maryann made the process as smooth as possible and was always contactable via phone or email. Fees were not the cheapest but the service was great and worth it for what we received. Would use again!

We originally chose Carbon law to help us complete on our first property purchase as all of the reviews said they were reasonably priced (which is true) but had very quick responses. I can safely say this could not be further from the case

We are in quite a unique situation as we had no chain and knew the sellers personally. This still took 11 months for us to agree on the sale till completion. There are some factors which contribute to the delay such as delay in management pack etc. But regardless of all this the communication was borderline non-existent unless we chased and slow

Our case handler never actually called us at all ever when we onboarded with them. Only ever spoke to them once on the phone after multiple efforts trying to reach them. We would basically only ever get an update if we emailed asking for one, after weeks of no contact

Even when it came down to actually completing they were poor. They sent us the exchange contracts with incorrect details on 2 occasions and on one of them they even sent our exchange contracts to another client they were working with... pretty sure this is a breach of GDPR

Wish 0 stars was an option. Picked this company for moving house as it had a lower price. What should have been the shortest, easiest process (as there was no chain and we knew the sellers) took a YEAR to reach completion. Not once did our solicitors call us about information, nor did they regularly update us like we asked. Our case handler, Laura Holmes, also went on annual leave multiple times without without telling us dates, so we couldn't even get through to anyone on some days. We were sent incorrect documents MULTIPLE times with reckless mistakes, and even had one of our documents with confidential information sent to another client. When we asked how these issues were being compensated, we were told there would be none. DO NOT use Carbon Law unless you want poor service and your time wasted.

I was extremely disappointed with the way I was spoken to by the conveyancer handling my case. The communication was brusque and left me feeling uncomfortable and poorly supported. I also received information that later turned out to be inaccurate, which caused further concern about how my matter was being managed. As a result, I decided to cancel and take my business elsewhere. A very poor experience overall.

paid £3,000 deposit to Alesco and £1,050 + £24 to their recommended solicitors (Carbon Law Partners), after being told by their representative Daniel that my legal fees would be covered and reimbursed, and that I wouldn’t lose any money if the purchase didn’t go ahead.

However, after proceeding, I discovered that the property information Alesco provided was incorrect. Daniel told me that short-term letting was allowed, but the solicitors later confirmed in writing that it was not permitted. Because of this, the sale could not continue.

Despite Alesco’s promise that I’d be refunded, I’ve still not received my £1,050 legal fee and £24 ID fee. The legal team also made several errors, including spelling my name wrong and sending documents that didn’t even match my company name — clear signs that the paperwork was handled carelessly.

I’ve tried multiple times to resolve this directly, but Alesco have not honoured their agreement. I’m now taking this matter to The Property Ombudsman.

This experience has caused unnecessary stress and financial loss, and I strongly advise others to be very cautious before dealing with this company.

I am writing this review purely to highlight the one amazing person involved in this team - Connie Ramplin - she is an absolute superstar!

My experience with Carbon Law was not the best, however since Connie’s involvement in August, she ensured that after a lengthy 6 month sale process with multiple issues, she pushed our sale over the finish line yesterday! If the review was just about Connie, I would give her 5/5 stars, however I have to consider the rest of the service received.

Before Connie’s involvement, I felt very unseen and unheard with this company. As a joint owner of a property (who had split with my partner) I felt most of the correspondence was directed at him and I was therefore hearing information second hand which was through him. I tried to complain but received no response to my emails. I also felt that initially, too many people were involved in the process. There were many individuals at Carbon Law copied into emails but I did not feel like I had one individual I could turn to (before Connie).

I struggled to get in contact with this company. A sale with no chain should not take six months to complete. It was a very stressful time with the buyers threatening to withdraw on multiple occasions. Considering there was no forward chain for us and they were first time buyers, I did not understand the hold up and found myself chasing some documents in an attempt to speed up the process!

Connie’s persistence and perseverance is something which should be both recognised and rewarded. She really is an asset to the company. Even on the final day she was battling with help to buy to ensure we completed on that day as promised!
