I’m really impressed with the level of professionalism and understanding shown by this car park company. I submitted an appeal and they took the time to review it properly, ultimately revoking the charge. Their communication was clear, polite, and genuinely considerate. It’s refreshing to deal with a company that listens to customers and handles situations fairly. Thank you for the great service — highly recommended!

Your Parking Charge Notice was appealed by a third-party representative on your behalf and subsequently reviewed by POPLA, the independent appeals service for private parking. POPLA considered the evidence from both sides and upheld the charge.

Our role is to manage the car park on behalf of the landowner so that spaces are fairly available for genuine customers and businesses on site. The third-party representative appealed using a standard boiler plate template that we and POPLA have both rejected on numerous times before. We always carefully review appeals and are often able to exercise discretion where motorists contact us directly with genuine mitigating circumstances specific to their situation.

Poor and suspicious charging practices. Notice of fine arrived too late…

Parking fine notice arrived too late for discount.
I received a parking fine notice by mail titled final reminder of £100 on Nov 19. I had never received a first notification. The final reminder was dated on the letter as 7 November but there was no postmark on the envelope. The notice said I could pay the discount fee of £60 if I paid before 14 Nov. As I only received it on the 19th this was impossible. I then wrote a complaint and an appeal. The response to the appeal said it would take 28 days. As the photograph shows my car on a road (no parking info visible) I assumed an appeal was fruitless so I paid the £100. I clicked the box to receive a receipt and it never came. I have a record of my payment by credit card and a screenshot of the payment successful. Be warned.

Thank you for your review, and we’re sorry for the frustration caused.

We understand how concerning it can be to receive a reminder letter when you did not receive the original Notice. All correspondence was issued in line with the required timelines, but unfortunately delays with Royal Mail can occasionally occur, and we appreciate how this affected your ability to pay at the discounted rate.

After reviewing your case, we have refunded £40 to bring your payment back down to the discounted amount you would have been entitled to had the original Notice reached you on time.

Regarding the payment receipt, a receipt is automatically generated when the option is selected during payment, but we are always happy to provide one manually on request. Please contact us with your PCN reference if you would like us to resend it.

Had a night mare trying to get out of…

Had a night mare trying to get out of the cafe park with my toddler , we ended up going over by ten minutes I wrote to explain my situation and they wrote back saying they cancled the charge , So Gate full.

Honesty Really is the Best Policy in Appeal

Utterly devastating and terrifying to begin with as I’d innocently been unaware of any changes to the free parking at the retail park. However, my appeal was accepted with such good grace and I was provided with a considerable email attachment of site photos of signage and information regarding conditions and pricing.

They were very helpful and understanding when I explained the reason when I overstayed by a short period of time in one of their car parks. They showed compassion and goodwill and cancelled my Parking Charge Notice.

Few minutes late !

I was taken into hospital as an emergency, the following day had to go back to York district hospital for a follow on appointment . I put what I thought was enough time & money on the car park ticket machine but my appointment ran over & I was late back by 11 minutes. I wish I had payed by the app & not cash at the machine. After getting a parking ticket I contested it by showing carflow the letter from the hospital, they were very understanding & as a goodwill gesture they waved the fee. Everything was sorted very quickly. It was nice to get some justice for a change, can't fault carflow at all.

PCN cleared

Received an unexpected PCN after I made a genuine error in under payment- believed I had paid for the maximum stay but had actually selected the minimum payment. I sent an appeal and explained how it was an honest mistake. My appeal was reviewed and very kindly accepted and the PCN cleared, despite my being at fault. I am very grateful and will make sure to triple check in the future!

3 Hour PCN Appeal

I was caught out by a new 3 hour parking restriction at a Carflow managed car park. It was a good faith error, which I outlined in an email appeal, explaining that I was a legitimate customer and providing a receipt. They replied immediately the following morning, understood the context and waived the PCN. Very fair dealing, and shows that they aren't looking to be punitive to customers, just to ensure the car park isn't misused.

A unexpected good outcome

I received a PCN a few days ago from carflow, however I had paid and stayed within my alloted time.

I appealed the PCN with evidence of paying for the ticket on the carflow website.

I received an email a day or so later informing me that I had entered the VRN wrong in the ticket machine.

However they kindly waved the ticket and just told me to be more careful in the future.

Going forward I will perhaps double check the reg I put in and even take a picture of the reg entered to save anymore PCNs.

I recently received a Parking Charge Notice, and I contacted Carflow to explain the situation. I was extremely impressed with how professional, understanding, and empathetic the team was. They carefully reviewed my case, took my personal circumstances into account, and kindly cancelled the charge. The process was smooth, transparent, and handled with genuine care.
