Avoid these rip off merchants like the plague!

I bought what I thought and what was, advertised as, a a brand new camera and lens from them via Amazon, it arrived on time, well packaged. But it was used, I could tell by the settings, they were obviously set to someone wi-fi, and other settings that person desired, so I contacted them, they denied this and said 'send it back and we will have a look'! Obviously I had no way of proving to these rip off merchants if it was like that when bought or not. I asked for a partial refund at least (the camera worked which is obviously good), They are happy to take your money, but if you have an issue that is obviously entirely down to them they don't want to know! I never use British companies just for this reason! I have never had these issues with other European companies and certainly never with Chinese, they know how to look after customers. Never, ever use this company! You have been warned.

purchased the 3 Legged Thing Zayla Dedicated Camera L-Bracket - Arca Swiss Compatible L-Bracket for Landscape and Portrait Photography, no way does this fit my Olympus OM-1 camera. returning the item and this company wants to charge for postage and packing to . I am sure under the long distance selling act they cant charge for returning an item.buyer beware of this company if you purchase anything and you need to return they will charge you , never have I ever been charged postage for returning an item . never again will I order anything from this company

Great prices and service - ordered a D7500 body on Fri 1st July with an expected delivery date of Tue 5th (happy with that) - It was actually delivered lunchtime Sat 2nd July - very, very happy - well done to all involved. (had to laugh, the spare battery from Amazon (because they were out of stock) took longer - arrived Saturday evening . . .) Definite repeat customer here!

Bought a telescope on the website for my son for Christmas. I called and spoke to the friendly helpful staff. They had a lot of information on the telescope and gave advice on how to attach a camera to it. The Telescope arrived swiftly. There was a little hiccup with slight damage to the tripod on arrival (no fault of carmarthen cameras) and it was dealt with swiftly. Great company, would recommend.

I know NOTHING about cameras, but my son DOES, and I wanted to buy him something photographic for Christmas and also his birthday in March.
Over the last 2 months I had done loads of research into lenses, DSLR and Mirrorless cameras, and what was compatible with what (i.e. Sigma, EOS vs R6).

I eventually thought I had my final shopping list, and found Camarthen Cameras.
This was after looking at various online traders via Pricerunner who were cheaper - but all these cheaper companies had some pretty bad reviews.
I decided to call Camarthen Cameras, just to confirm that they had what I wanted in stock, as it was for Christmas.

I spoke with a guy called Andy (Andrew Lamnea) who was UNBELIEVABLY helpful.
We discussed various aspects of my order - how practical the Sigma 60-600 lense was due to its weight, and lots of other technicalities - including the Canon replacement battery, how the battery loss of power reduced the shutter speed, and so on.
We agreed that I would put my order in online, as they would have written confirmation of my order.
Andy also suggested I call back next morning just to ensure that everything had been done.
He was off the next day, but ask for Krish.
He had been so dedicated that he was the only one left in the shop and was now talking to me in the dark!

So I ordered, then called, and spoke with Krish.
He was JUST as helpful as Andy - and added some more information, particularly about SD cards.

Both of them are photographers.
Andy specialises in wild life and horse events such as Show jumping.

After searching everywhere to get a specific camera lens, 99% of those contacted were awaiting back orders with lengthy delays from the far east. Camarthancameras had the lens I wanted in stock and after calling to confirm availability and price they shipped it to me straight away. The person who took my call waited on the phone while I placed the order on line and then once the order number was confirmed he went to their stock room and personally arranged for the item to go in the post that day. Item was received 24 hours after placing the order, superb service coupled with DPD next day delivery at no extra cost. Very happy and will definitely use them again.

I needed to pay via invoice and called through to the accounts team, who were extremely helpful and friendly and walked me through the whole process. Thanks for your patience!

I phoned to order a couple of small spares for my camera at about 10.00am and they arrived by return post. The shop is 80 miles from home so i couldn't justify a visit.

Just the best shop of any sort I've dealt with for ages. I ordered a pair of binoculars from them and they arrived special delivery the next day. They phoned to check everything was ok after I placed the order, put two sets of batteries in for free and were keen to know if I liked the product. Oh they were also the most competitive priced by a worthy amount. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Fantastic, efficient and consistent service.

I’ve bought small things from Carmarthen Cameras in the past, but recently I was interested in a serious purchase, a Zeiss Milvus ZE lens taking advantage of a Zeiss cash-back offer.

I looked at various dealers’ websites and it soon became clear that Carmarthen was easily the best option. Their price was the best, they’re an official Zeiss dealer, and they offer the Canon and Nikon versions at the same price. A different dealer wanted more for the Canon version, which I found unethical.

I placed my order and it couldn’t have been handled better. It was acknowledged promptly, the lens was sent quickly, I was informed of DPD despatch and kept informed every step of the way until the lens arrived quickly, nicely packaged, in pristine condition. When I asked about the cash-back arrangements I soon received a detailed explanation sheet.

From start to finish this transaction was handled in an efficient, professional and friendly way. Quite a contrast from the (lack of) ’service’ I received elsewhere, in Yorkshire, involving a wasted dash over the Pennines, the last time I bought a Milvus lens.
