Bought an item from their EBay site. True to the company promise, it was dispatched the same day and arrived early the next morning. There was a slight issue and I rang the store. Absolutely brilliant response from Tim and a replacement item was delivered less than 24 hours later. They were very customer focussed and eager to please. It was a first rate service

I placed on order on Friday 3 Jan 2025 which duly appeared as a pending charge on my credit card. It was before 3pm so same day dispatch was promised.

On Saturday 4 January, seeing that no dispatch confirmation had been sent I followed up my order status only to find it had been cancelled, no reason given, charge still pending on my credit card. There was no proactive follow-up communication from the supplier to inform me they had unilaterally decided to cancel my order.

I contacted Camarthen Cameras and after lengthly discussion the customer service operator couldn't give me a reason other than 'it had been automatically cancelled by the system'. He did not understand why, so could provide no constructive feedback about what the issue was and if it would recur on a subsequent order. Not wanting to go through the frustration a second time I have decided to let the order lapse and search for a more competent supplier.

Please be aware of this issue if you decide to place an order with this supplier.

I ordered a brand new printer off Amazon - paid for delivery and it turned out Carmarthen Cameras were fulfilling the order.
This was meant to be a Xmas present and it arrived via an eBay box.!
Unsealed Canon parcel on the inside so who knows where this "brand new" order had come from? To add insult to injury - I had to pay to return a parcel I had already paid Amazon Prime for. Sorry for whoever Carmarthen Cameras palms this off to as a "new product" but it clearly wasn't.

Edit: I sent the printer back and still have not been given my refund nearly 6 weeks later. Sadly, I lost my proof of posting and so Amazon can't do anything.

Not a business I will ever use again and if you want to believe their reply to me below - good luck to you.

I drove three hours each way to collect a lens that other suppliers had let me down on delivery for. A quick phone call to Joe who was immensely helpful and sent me a cart link with the order pre-filled. He couldn't have made it easier. On arrival I was promptly sorted with the lens and splashed out on a second, used zoom lens while I was there. Their website will be my first stop for camera gear going forward - had I called them just an hour earlier yesterday they could have arranged next day delivery so no reason at all not to start here in future. Customer service lives!

I contacted the team at Carmarthen Cameras a few weeks ago with a query about binocular repairs and the staff were incredibly helpful in getting everything sorted. I greatly appreciated the support they provided and would highly recommend Carmarthen Cameras to anyone in need of expert advice and repairs.

I have made my purchase online, and had some issues with camera compatibility, however Andy was so helpful and knowledgeable and problem was resolved very quickly.

I received the items quickly from Carmarthen Cameras and when I had queries before purchase they were responded to promptly. This changed after purchase. I had an issue with one of my products and never received a response. It seems Carmarthen Cameras only care about the sale. I wouldn’t recommend if you’re making a big purchase as peace of mind isn’t provided.

Carmarthen Cameras is such an amiable and helpful company! My 14 yr old brother bought a telescope from them, and Joe was very helpful and knowledgeable about the best one to get. He helped him set it up and understand everything about it.

What an interesting camera centre this is. I needed to buy some camera equipment, and as a beginner I really appreciated the knowledgeable advice and information given to the sales associate Joe, I felt he understood exactly what I needed and was as far removed from hard-sell as is possible. To have staff of this calibre matching the quality and range of products is a rare thing indeed, as a business owner myself for over 38 years I understand how hard, and how important it is to get and maintain a good reputation. The recommendation I had from a friend about this business was merited and i wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Carmarthen Cameras myself.

This was my first experience of Carmarthen Cameras and as I was spending so much money, I was naturally anxious.
I visited every one of the authorised dealers on the Nikon website and Carmarthen was the cheapest - and not by a small amount.
They also have a straighforward and functional website with an unusually efficient search facility that found very specific things very quickly - so useful when you are constantly back and forth comparing.
They state that everything on their site enjoys free delivery and whilst I would have preferred my camera to be hand delivered by armed guards, I got the next best thing - DPD. I have come to trust them as a reliable courier far superior to the competition. So it is always good to see a company choose them.
I ordered several times and each time before 3PM, the item was with me next day.
Email communication was responsive and the quality of customer service really does deserve to be singled out for praise. I dealt with Lesley who went the extra distance to pull out all the stops for me and make me feel genuinely valued as a customer.
There are so many companies who 'just about get by' who could learn a lot from my fantastic experience here.
Now, just need to decide which kidney to sell off. The credit card bill is due....
