Our experience with this agency during the deposit return process was extremely frustrating. They attempted to withhold part of our deposit over “non-professional cleaning,” despite the property being left clean and in good condition. There was no substantial evidence of damage or poor hygiene — just a claim that cleaning wasn’t carried out by a professional company. We disputed this formally and won, which speaks for itself. The situation felt like an attempt to impose unnecessary charges rather than a fair assessment of the property’s condition. I would strongly recommend tenants to protect themselves with photos, detailed check-out reports, and to challenge any unreasonable deductions.

I want to expose this company for allowing a manager to intervene out of nowhere on behalf of our landlord. Unfortunately, we rented a house in Exeter through this company. After the agreement was signed, the company informed us that they had nothing further to do with us and that they had only introduced the tenant to the landlord.

We lived in the property for 28 months, and at checkout everything was in perfect condition. When we asked the landlord to return our £1,100 deposit, he refused. As a result, we raised a dispute with the TDS and waited for the landlord to submit evidence on the TDS portal.

In the meantime, Liana Pitsakis suddenly became involved and tried to convince me to pay the landlord £295. She even threatened that white goods—which were not part of the tenancy agreement—would be included in the TDS claim.

The TDS did not accept the landlord’s claims regarding alleged damage to the property or the white goods and released £950 of the deposit back to us and £150 to the landlord. Based on this outcome, they will each receive £75 after making false accusations against us.

I do not know who hired this individual or why she involved herself in a matter that did not concern her. In my view, her actions damaged the reputation of the company she represents, all for the benefit of a landlord who may not even pay her the £75 she appeared so eager to secure.

Based on my experience, if you are a tenant looking for a property, I would strongly advise against using this company. Once you leave the property, they may side with the landlord and apply pressure that feels like blackmail to extract money from tenants.

When I was looking for an estate agent, I asked three separate estate agents to come and value.

Erin from Chase Buchanan was the first estate agent and she was optimistic despite the market not being the best at the time-she really understood the area and I was confident she could sell the flat. (The second agent said ‘I don’t think you’ll get even what you paid for it’ and the third advised me to rent it out again and wait for the market to get better.)

I decided to give Erin a chance, and I am so glad I did. The flat was on the market all of 10 days, the video walkthrough was really good and the first viewing resulted in an offer that I was pleased with and accepted.

The sale did take about 6 months, and Erin and her team did their best to chase the buyers solicitors and keep me updated. Erin was extremely patient with me as I was becoming increasing frustrated at the buyers solicitors being very slow-it’s all completed now, and I am so glad that I went with Chase Buchanan.

Ellie has been great in finding me a wonderful tenant, and handling all renewals thereafter. Renewals are dealt will efficiently, and both tenant and landlord contacted in good time to prepare documents. The whole process is a breeze from the perspective of the landlord.
