Website is a basic Drop Ship Company, No customer service

After waiting an entire 4 weeks for Chef's Deal to even ship the range (after being told it would be at the latest 1 week) I purchased a $15,000 Garland commercial oven from Chef’s Deal , and unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing. The range arrived without any electrical cord required for operation, rendering it unusable upon delivery.
This resulted in unexpected costs, including a $578 bill from a licensed electrician for a workaround attempt, plus additional labor from contractors who had to assist with the incomplete installation. We also experienced significant project delays due to the missing part.
Despite reaching out immediately and sharing the invoice and situation, Chef’s Deal refused to reimburse us or send the proper cord overnight, showing no willingness to resolve the issue or take accountability.
For a purchase of this scale, you’d expect professional service, support, and follow-through. What we received felt more like a drop-shipping transaction with no post-sale care.
If you're considering buying commercial equipment from Chef’s Deal, especially for a high-end or time-sensitive project, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

All of their electric ovens do not include power cords, as confirmed by Garland, due to varying site-specific requirements. These units must be installed by a licensed professional, who is responsible for supplying and connecting the correct cord.

As outlined in our policy, installation and related costs are the customer’s responsibility. While our team did their best to assist, we are unable to cover third-party installation or related costs.

Chef's Deal = Lack of Integrity

*UPDATE* Chef's Deal indicated that they would be sending a refund check - they even verified my mailing address. It's been more than a month and I have yet to receive a check. In short, Chef's Deal is a company that is more interested in responding to reviews... rather than actually sending the check they said they'd send. This is so beyond a lack of integrity.

Absolutely horrible experience - AVOID THIS COMPANY! ZERO SENSE OF ACCOUNTABILITY!!

Chef's Deal sent me the wrong item, then demanded it back before they would send the correct item. They offered to allow me to keep the wrong item at a 50% discount if I would buy the correct item again... now, they are refusing to give me more than a 10% discount... which is less than the initial credit?

Absolutely horrible sense of ethics.

*UPDATE. Chef's Deal is now responding to these reviews, and EDITING their responses. Yes, Chef's Deal DID offer me a 50% discount over the phone if I elected to keep the wrong grill I received so long as I purchased a second, correct, grill.

To date, I have not yet received any refund credits, and they are dodging and slow to respond to my inquiries with the BBB. That should tell you all you need to know about their business model and customer service.

*UPDATE* Now Chef's Deal is updating their responses to completely remove any admittance that they screwed up and are simply replacing their responses with "We are sorry you are confused." Just avoid this company - so many other options to purchase equipment and avoid 60-days of heartburn. Would you really want to tolerate this from a supplier/vendor?

No, you didn't respond promptly. You didn't respond at all to the BBB until I notified you that the BBB notified me that you hadn't responded to their inquiry. Then, as if my magic, the BBB got a response from you. And every time there was an update for new corrected order, I had to initiate the conversation... and your company didn't initiate your offer of 10% back until I kept pushing poking for a refund credit.

As soon as we were made aware of the shipping error, we acted quickly to resolve it.

We did initially offer a courtesy discount had you decided to keep the original item. Since you declined, no amount was finalized. Despite that, we still extended a 10% goodwill discount to acknowledge the inconvenience. At no point was a 50% discount offered, and that statement is factually incorrect.

We’ve addressed this situation professionally, promptly, and in good faith. While we understand your frustration, we also have a responsibility to protect our business from misinformation. We consider the matter closed and stand by the fairness of our resolution.

These guys do not make good on their…

These guys do not make good on their mistakes. I order tumblers from these guys. The quantity they sent was lower than the quantity stated on their website.
They acknowledge the website is wrong, but will not correct the error. Don't buy from these guys.

It is interesting that based on your response that you have a policy of no integrity.

Ordered tenderizer machine 9/19/24 was…

Ordered tenderizer machine 9/19/24 was never told it was out of stock or would be shipped from manufacture . 7 weeks later got the machine with no blades. Still awaiting customer service to get back to us on why no blades were shipped with the equipment. Chefs deal got their money when the order was placed and 8 weeks later still no answer. Paik 3k for a machine and can’t use it..

Excellent Customer Service ChefsDeal

Ricardo at ChefsDeal provided top shelf customer service. I was so impressed! He put my order together quickly, provided a price match, interfaced with the supplier to answer my questions about the oven I was purchasing, as well as providing me with an option that I had no idea was available, and last he stayed on top of the order until it was shipped. I can’t say enough about Ricardo and ChefDeal! I needed this oven purchased, fitted, and shipped in less than 48 hours and Ricardo got all that done! Bravo!

Excellent customer service and prices

The customer service team at Chef’s Deal went above and beyond to ensure the Donper residential margarita machine that we ordered made it to us in time for our big party. I called several times to check on the order and was greeted warmly and with attention every time; they even proactively contacted the manufacturer to request to expedite the order. The machine made it on time and frozen margaritas were enjoyed by all!! I should send one to y’all:)

Evins Mill Resort & Retreat

My business, Evins Mill Resort & Retreat, recently purchased a double-stack convection oven from Chef's Deal. The identical unit was substantially more expensive on other platforms. While the price was right, the service was better. Ricardo responded to all my inquiries and requests promptly and professionally. When there was a small snafu with the delivery of the unit, Ricardo was able to route the delivery to their warehouse and deliver it himself within days. The crew delivering the unit was very thorough, calling in advance to confirm the width of the entry door and separated the unit into its constituent parts in order to get the unit inside. I highly recommend Ricardo and his team at Chef's Deal!

Flapper valve for True upright freezer

My husband and I purchased a new commercial freezer, (True brand) after two residential freezers going out. We purchased our upright from Chef’Deal in Nashville Tn. Delivery was prompt as our circumstance was dire. The day following delivery we noticed a crackling sound separate from the motor. I called Chef’s Deal and spoke with Lee in customer service. While on the phone with me she spoke to a gentleman and immediately identified the problem. A small flapper valve for the defrost line was ordered and arrived next day delivery by UPS. She gave me four service company phone numbers and stayed in touch with me regularly until the issue was resolved. I could not be more pleased with the EXCELLANT customer service and attention we received from Lee.

Bummed out with the service!

Please save yourself money and don't use this company! I waited and waited to try to get my situation rectified before writing this review, but they did not. I'm out almost $1k and have a piece of equipment I can't use, based on the recommendation of their team. I'm very disappointed and want to save you from the same situation.
