Dropped me for no reason

I've been a customer for several years... was sent a letter to fill out some basic information which I promptly complied with, and then got a notice that my insurance was not being renewed. They said I didn't fill it out completely (was missing one field). When I asked if I could resend the paperwork in to correct it, they said the decision was already made and my insurance policy would not be renewed. Nothing else to do about it, case closed. Shadiest company ever!

Run away, as fast as you can

Shady company with shady business practices. Same non renewal notice as other people have complained about. Nothing showed up in the mail, notice that policy was automatically cancelled because of questionnaire not being filled out. Worst insurance experience I have ever encountered.

I was a customer for years

I was a customer for years - no longer. I had no claims, no missed payments and mailed back all documents in time. They claimed I didn't send a document and dropped my policy with no notice. I mailed said document within 2 days of receiving. They are also no longer issuing policies in CA and no chance of appeal. This is a terrible experience for a valued customer.

I received a non-renewal notice for failure to complete a questionnaire which I never received. A company that allows you to sign up and pay and do EVERYTHING on a mobile app. Suddenly needs you to mail something in to keep coverage? Makes no sense. I also never got a call or email about this.

They're just trying to come up with BS reasons to drop as many non-preferred customers for whatever reasons, morally bankrupt company.

Just received a non-renewal notice for failure to complete a questionnaire which I never received. I was told the questionnaire was mailed - this from a company which does everything online. The questionnaire never arrived in my mail box. I called immediately to ask that a new questionnaire be sent which I would gladly complete. Took them all of 10 minutes to reply via email that it was not possible. No explanation as to why it was not possible.

was issued a non renewal statement for a questionnaire I never filled out because I never received it, one would think an online company to send papers to you via email instead of USPS...since you have to download a copy of your actual policy if you want it and proof of insurance card also...Customer service is non existent, when i contacted them (via email) and explained i never received the questionnaire I was told the decision was final and irreversible... end of story and declined to answer any other correspondence from me...that is the reason for the one star review....I would leave less than one star if possible... clean driving record, no accidents, tickets, claims .
I believe if the said questionnaire was so important it should have been sent via email to the address of the insured on file and there is still three months until the policy expires they can send one via email...I believe I was given no option for correction of something I did not have any control over

This company deserves 0 STARS

This company deserves 0 STARS! Ivana is a joke. She doesn't return calls or text. She told me that they would review my rental coverage due to the extent of our truck being down and never did. They are with holding over $400!!!! Her manager Joel is also useless.

DO NOT USE THEM! I cannot wait for my contract to be over. I will be switching my insurance asap!

Pathetic excuse for a company, horrible rude customer service that doesn’t care about who they screw!

This company has ZERO ethics! Run away!!! After my accident, my car was towed by the direction of the sheriff’s department on the scene. The car was obviously totaled and I contacted my claims department right away. A few days later I received this email… “We are still investigating coverage and pending contact in regard to your claim. In the meantime, please move your vehicle to a safe location where it will not incur storage charges.” I am out of state and don’t live here, where do they think I can put a totaled car? Then they ask me to go back to said tow company to take photos, as they do not have adjusters that come out. I’ve been waiting about 1 month for this to get settled, my new adjuster “Ericka” is completely useless and rude and could care less. I forgot that it is actually their job to look for a reason NOT to pay out, that’s how insurance companies make money right? Well, she did her job because I now have been notified that my claim has been denied because my visit to Florida to help my family lasted too long and I am no longer a PA resident. Now I’m REALLY stuck in Florida with no car and no way to get back to Pennsylvania and to add insult to injury they keep trying to take my next payment out of my account!!! This is just ridiculous! I have never had such an awful experience! What service do they even provide? You pay the money for coverage, you have to do the footwork yourself and they still come up with an excuse to not pay no matter how obnoxious the reason! This company is a sham and should be ashamed. This is exactly what is wrong with the world today!

I was hesitant to go with Clearcover…no REGRETS

I was hesitant to go with Clearcover because they are online and no local office's. I had been with Allstate, State Farm and others that were not well known but I can say that Clearcover has been the best, by far too work with. I had an accident and the claim was done through their app on my phone. It was fast and easy to process.

Great introductory price for NEW customers only.

The only reason I went with this company originally was the cheaper cost, horrible mistake. Sometimes it would take several business days to hear back from a customer service agent. Long story short, when we started using them, it was only around $250 per month, they went up to $295 and then later $385 with no explanation as to why. This is with no claims that we received a payout on and no moving violations in the past 7 years. Needless to say, we now have BETTER coverage with Progressive and it’s only $185 for full coverage on two vehicles. Do not punish long-term customers just because you think people are too lazy to shop around.

Clearcover is the WORST

Clearcover is the WORST. Someone hit my husband and it took them over a month to realize the obvious. That their client was at fault. Meanwhile my husband paid 2500 in rental fees out of pocket while they lolligagged around and now they refuse to reimburse him. DO NOT have dealings with these shysters.

My catalytic converter was stolen

My catalytic converter was stolen. I filed a police report and had a ton of pictures. I have comprehensive coverage with a $500 deductible. They refused to pay anything. They said, "we have insufficient evidence to pursue subrogation as the party responsible for the damages is unknown." Well, it was a theft so the party responsible is almost never known.
Filling a complaint with California Department of Insurance and getting legal help.

Also, if you have a phone like an apple SE don't bother because the app doesn't work on it hardly at all.
First thing though is to dump this cut rate insurance and find a company with integrity that just isn't after profits.

Do not choose Clear cover

Do not choose Clear cover. I signed up to get the lowest price. I was quoted for a year. Now they are basically lying and charging me double per year. I should have stayed with my former auto insurance. I contacted useless app and tried to contact thru app. Waste of time. They lied!!! I work from home fulltime and never had an accident and drive less than 5 miles per week. Do not choose this auto insurance. They lie and have horrible customer service.

Switched companies for Clearcover

Switched to the company on the advice of my agent an they've been far better then the previous company with a better price for their monthly coverage and very helpful agents on the support line that helped to lower my rate further. The interface on the app is easy to navigate an everything I've needed to find is simple to.

Honestly really happy with them!

Honestly really happy with them! The reason I switched is because apparently they had the lowest prices in my state, especially for young people (I was 19 at the time). Turns out they were right, I pay under $100 a month with them for my plan, where the same plan with the "best" and "most trusted" insurance company Progressive was costing me nearly 2x that amount PER MONTH! Im so glad I switched. Perfect for young people to start being independent!

Slow customer service.

If you are an online-only company and have zero physical presence, I expect you to have quick turnarounds on email. you have chat but no one is online on it.

you don't have a phone number to call.
