Very helpful and informative. Answered my questions clearly.
Knowledgeable and patient. Outline services very clearly
At this point, our main concern was deciding if your company was trustworthy. Here's what you did right:
-partner with CARP/ZOOM
-webinar with believable and 'real' professionals
-exactly the right tone in communicating with us while we considered signing up (John Farrell) responsive but no pressure
Please note: I have vision issues due to Parkinson's and will not be dedicating very much if any of my precious screen time to reviewing our Clear Estate experience, at least not until our estate planning is complete.
I thought I was paying ClearEstate $6000 to give me clear step by step instructions for my dad’s probate process, but it was a nightmare of errors and non-communication so I demanded and received a refund. ClearEstate made several major mistakes on my court forms: they forgot to list 9 people who are in my dad’s will on my form de-111 petition for probate, they mis-spelled my middle name in several places and acted annoyed when I pointed it out, they didn’t mark the proper selection under “full authority,” and they added “Amended” where they shouldn’t have since it was a non-court stamped form, which I had to fix in Photoshop before I uploaded the forms.
The biggest problem was ClearEstate didn’t give me clear timelines on my steps or detailed instructions to follow other than when my hearing date would be. I showed up to court COMPLETELY UNPREPARED. They should have told me I was supposed to collect all the people in the will’s addresses and ages, and that I was supposed to ask a random friend to physically mail a notice to each of the people listed in the will my notice of petition for probate 15+ days before the hearing. ClearEstate called me to tell me all of this 5 days before my hearing, which was too late. They told me a CA resident would need to mail out my letters, which is incorrect. You can have a friend mail out your notification letters from any state.
They also didn’t let me know I was required to put a printed ad in the local newspaper, and that I had to do this a certain number of days before the hearing date with a public notice. My hearing was embarrassing, but the judge was awesome. The judge taught me how to call the Riverside Courthouse help desk phone, and he taught me how to look up all my court discrepancies online. Then the judge rescheduled my hearing for 3 months.
That 3-month delay is costing me a lot more money.
Ever since I demanded a refund from ClearEstate, I’ve been doing all the probate preparation for my dad’s probate myself with no errors. Doing my own paperwork with the court help desk’s excellent and timely assistance is FREE, and it’s way easier than trying to go through ClearEstate.

Great personal touch. I was able to get a video appointment on the same day I inquired. John was helpful in understanding our situation and explaining the options. I’m just at the start of this journey but I already feel like I have peace of mind.
Clearestate provided great service while assisting me with the estate process and promptly addressing all my questions. Their support in navigating the complexities of estate matters is commendable
Roy was extremely transparent with clear communication. As a result, I have FULL CLARITY regarding REAL PROPERTY and LETTERS OF ADMINISTRATOR! Thank you Roy.
My experience with the ClearEstate team has been great. They've provided guidance every step of the way. Their user interface allows you to keep progress of where you are in the probate process and their team communicates through their chat function (which also goes to your email so you know when they've responded). I'm really grateful for their help.
Review of ClearEstate for Intestate Probate Services in California
Updated 4/14/2026
Im. Just sharing my experience. Any person who has paid the money upfront and wouldn’t want to fire them because they don’t get a refund or upset somebody and they get dropped as a client as per some of the reviews that are available online, yes. You will also notice at the very end of our conversations. They became very more short and to the point because by that time, I think you can understand that the situation was not good at all. My updated to this is still one star because this is my experience, my feelings, which are valid, not yours, what the judge told me and what other lawyers told me, and it’s just something I’m sticking by. It’s not something I would recommend to anybody. If somebody finds it helpful for them to use your services? Then that is great! But if they were to ask me personally – – – I would not recommend.

I originally gave ClearEstate a five-star review when I first started working with them, but I later changed it to one star. Early on, I spoke directly with the CEO. He gave me his personal cell phone number and promised to handle my case personally. For the first month or two, he was very helpful. After that, he stopped following through and simply passed my issues off to other people. From there, things went downhill quickly. They kept sending me documents containing other deceased individuals' personal information, including Social Security numbers. Their back office constantly messed up forms and submitted inaccurate information to the court. I ended up doing most of the work myself to fix their mistakes. When the probate finally closed, the California judge asked who helped me with all the briefs, because every filing ClearEstate submitted had problems. I told him I used AI to fix them. He said he'd never seen a case go through on the first try without major corrections — especially in California, where probate usually takes two to three years. I got it done in less than a year with AI. The judge was extremely impressed, even joked that AI was going to take over jobs for lawyers, judges, and people who handle these filings. He told me I did excellent. The $7,000 I paid was supposed to include full concierge service, but after I signed on they told me they had stopped offering it — even though their website still advertised it. In the end, I spent nearly $4,000 of my own money fixing their errors. I could have saved the entire $7,000 and handled everything myself with AI and my own research. They're based in Canada with very high staff turnover, so I constantly had to repeat my entire story to different people. There's no direct phone number, and when I raised concerns, responses were often short, snippy, or they simply stopped replying. This is my honest experience. I will never use ClearEstate again. When you pay them $7,000 to $9,000, you're basically paying for them to file forms that are only half correct. You'll spend far more time chasing corrections than you expect. I strongly recommend doing the work yourself or hiring an hourly attorney — it's far cheaper and less stressful.
Thank you,
Bolding Estate

My recent experience has been excellent. Deepa has been extremely responsive and always lets me know concrete deadlines and what is needed information wise to further our probate case. If she does not know the answer to a question, she will find out from another team member and get back with us promptly. Thank you for your hard work Deepa and team!
I have done a lot of research on the probate process and cost in California, where intestate (no will) status would've been daunting and overwhelming to manage. I came across ClearEstate while considering options on probate, and I am glad that I met with their team. They explained in simple terms the probate process in my state/county and how their service can facilitate the required paperwork and Court scheduling/support -- all online. My cousin, a litigation lawyer herself, was with me during the virtual meeting and asked the pertinent legal questions. She was impressed by the team's straightforward answers. After the call, she noted how valuable this service would be for someone who didn't know how to qualify probate assistance, and what to do to get that process started. Also of financial importance, ClearEstate's pricing is a fraction of what a probate lawyer would charge, an important factor when trying to preserve as much of the estate's value. I am signed up with ClearEstate and am very glad that they are helping manage my case through the court process.
Robert and the Clear Estate team helped me through a difficult time as the executor when my Father passed away suddenly and we were not prepared.Excellent Customer Service delivered in a prompt and professional manner. 5 stars across the board.
Clear concise definition of what Clear provides and what it does not provide. Allowed me to make a decision without a lot of extra investigation.
They helped me settle my late mother's estate. I found them easy to work and fairly quick. I would use them again, but hopefully won't need to for a long time.
Roy is professional and helpful in provide assistance for my case.
