My first time importing a large item…

My first time importing a large item from China. Picked Clearit for their expertise thinking the fee would be worth it to expedite the process. Initial uploads were simple, the infrastructure is organized, but after uploading, my messages were only checked once each day and there were multiple responses for more information and silly changes to forms when the information was already there on previous forms. After a week I insisted progress needed to be made within 24 hrs due to shipper insistence, and they LOCKED MY ACCOUNT FOR ACCESS. Steer clear, cost me a week with no progress.

i never write reviews but this is the worst operations of all. signed up to clear customs on sept 2nd they asked for 1 document per day by different people today is the 10 th they are asking me if I want them to clear the shipment. I have to pay $35 a day storage for 4 days already. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They only have one asian sounding guy for customer service.

I contaced James Stewart from Clearit…

I contaced James Stewart from Clearit to handle a shipment of glassware from CA to USA and he was initially very responsive. I provided him everything he requested to move the process forward and then he abruptly stopped responding. After 4 more emails and 5 days later, he has not responded. I told him this was a time-sensitive matter. What a costly and huge waste of time.

No help whatsoever

No help whatsoever, no one will call you. I only want to ship one thing to the US, have never done it before, they're not helpful. One message says, please complete the UMSCA form, let us know if you need help completing - so I said, yes please call me as I don't know what this is, they reply, we cannot help you with this form. Like, WHAT??
I used their sister company in Canada, night and day service-wise, super helpful, responsive, emailed and phoned me and walked me through the process.
ClearItUSA SUCK and I do NOT recommend them
I am thinking I might just scrap them and try someone else at this point.

Terrible experiences

Terrible experiences. Slow to respond. Always end up paying storage fees due to late releases. Overcharging on invoices. And they actually held my paid cargo ransom to settle an outstanding balance for a different shipment where they messed up the invoice.

Clearit is a predatory bigness that will collaborate with some transporter to charge you the maximum possible on a pretended custom job, making up fees like storage or exorbitant administration fees, up to 100% of you total original purchased price, pleas do not accept there quote ask for proper custom agent to give you a price, don't get scam like me

You will notice many 1 star reviews for this company, you have been duly warned. I tried using them for a simple shipment with a value of about 10k. First of all, they didn't know how to do the job and I had to be the one to do all the research and PROVE to THEM that an item was exempt from Fish and Wildlife. That ate up valuable free warehouse days and hours of my time. THEN they completely neglected to inform the warehouse that my cargo had cleared customs!! A small degree of fault is mine in trusting that this was done for several weeks, but the fault was 98% on ClearIt for failure to do even the most basic elements of what an import broker is supposed to do. The main problem is that they just use a terrible and convoluted system to communicate with you and they employ a bunch of low skill people to try to broker way too many shipments at once. They caused me 3,500.00 worth of fees through their negligence. I will give credit where it's due, they paid for 1k of that, but I'm still out 2.5K because of these clowns. They would not give me any more assistance with fees THEY caused and I received no refund for their (dis)services. PLEASE DO NOT give them your business. Companies this inept should not be allowed to exist. Honestly, I hate to trash a company without good reason but I was treated so unfairly and I don't wish for others to go through the same.

Avoid Clearit at all costs

Didn't file our ISF paperwork despite all documents being provided well in advance. No real customer service -- they are all remote workers who have no ability to escalate issues or problem-solve on their own. DO NOT trust this company with your import shipments. As a professional importer I have never seen such negligent handling of customs filing.

Completely incompetent

Completely incompetent. Their mistakes cost me $17k. All they needed to do was fill out a power of attorney, and they sat on their hands for 2-3 months after the merch arrived in Seattle.

Wow. These guys are the worst.

Lazy and unprofessional guys. They will ignore you, do not be wondered.

This is my second time when I use their service. There was some stress at first time and now it happened again. I uploaded documents, provided by producer and shipping forwarder into their system. Shipping forwarder expect for ISF file. On their site there is: Who files my ISF and when?

Your Customs Broker will file ISF on your behalf at least 24 hours prior to cargo leaving its port of origin.

Today is a day when my package should be shipped and ClearIt did not prepare this ISF file. I sent them information on December 26 and up to December 30 I did not get any answer. They have weekends and holidays. Nice, yeah? You may have penalty for 5-100k, but they are so tired...

I asked in chat and sent emails to listed email addresses, someone waked up there and said what I should to fill blank ISF form, which they just sent me. There is a lot of fields, which are not clear for me. Previous time I did not do it, they made it. This time, by some reason they said me about this, at last day, though ISF file should be provided in 48 hours before shipping. And bond should be bought in advance.

Failure to file your ISF can lead to stiff penalties, increased cargo inspection, and an overall delay in receiving your cargo. Penalties range from $5,000 USD – $100,000

Nightmare Broker!!!! I will never recommend this company

I will never recommend this company, and if you’ve had good results praise God. THEY ARE HORRIBLE! I’ve been dealing with a nightmare trying to get registered since 11/25/2024 and today is 12/21/2024 (3) more days it will be a month. It only took (10) days for the manufacturer to prefab the the item) The seller of the product that I ordered from in China, just cannot believe how many times we’ve submitted the same document over and over approximately 20 or more times, not including all the telephone calls daily or every other day without results of getting any further to receiving my package. I’m so thankful that others has been able to successfully get their order, but I’m telling you this has been a nightmare and is still going on. It’s hard up-root and start over with another company, because every day I’m thinking I’m gonna get that much closer to geting it done. If anyone knows how I may contact the CEO Adam Lewis please give me that information. This is so frustrating and so undeserving for anyone to go through this. Monday I’m going to contact the BBB with hopes, they will be able to help me with Clearit Custom Broker. Thank You and Be Blessed!

Painfully slow and incompetent

Painfully slow and incompetent.

They haven't replied to emails for days and their phone number is just a voicemail.

Trying to work with Clearit has cost us around $50k in lost sales so far.

Highly recommended!

Clearit made the whole process simple and straightforward with good communication right the way through. It's great to receive update notifications straight away and I can log in to my account anytime to see shipment status. I'm very happy we have switched our customs clearance to Clearit.
