ClearitUSA Held Up My Business Operations

I started with ClearitUSA about a month ago thinking it would help me simplify a complicated process. It did not, customer service was not helpful at all. I ended up having to find another solution. Bottom line is Clearit stalled my business operations and that just isn't acceptable.

The rock bottom worst.

Dear Clearit,

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with the way you have handled my case. Your recent rebuttal is not only misleading but also a blatant attempt to deflect blame and avoid taking responsibility for your actions.

From the very beginning, it was clear that you were not interested in helping me with my pro-Trump merchandise. Your actions and responses indicated a strong desire to have the stickers destroyed, despite my willingness to do whatever it took to preserve them within the boundaries of the law.

It is disheartening to see that you have chosen to blame others, such as CH Robinson and FreightRight, for your own incompetence and lack of knowledge. I have spoken with representatives from both companies, and they have made it clear that the Power of Attorney (POA) was your responsibility. Even DB Schenker confirmed that the responsibility for my merchandise lay with you.

Your claim that "everything Trump is trademarked" and that I would need permission from the trademark holder to import the goods is simply not true. While the Trump wordmark is expansive, it does not cover all merchandise, and I made it clear that I had taken the necessary steps to ensure compliance with trademark laws.

Your suggestion to redirect the merchandise to another country was not only impractical but also against US Customs regulations. Officer Smith from US Customs confirmed that the goods could only be reexported to the port of origin, which was Hong Kong.

The numerous unanswered messages and the lack of communication on your part only exacerbated the situation. It is clear that you were either negligent or malicious in your handling of my case, and it is unacceptable that you have chosen to hide behind lies and deceit.

This entire ordeal has cost me valuable time and resources, not to mention the emotional toll it has taken. As a result of your actions, I have lost five months of valuable time from the moment the goods arrived at the port of Seattle and a year of product development plus costs. This is an election year, and your actions have significantly impacted my ability to support the campaign.

In conclusion, your rebuttal is nothing more than a desperate attempt to avoid taking responsibility for your actions. It is clear that you have no regard for your clients or their businesses, and I will not stand idly by while you continue to mislead and deceive others.

We could have resolved all of this in private over email, but you refused to acknowledge your mistakes and answer emails after the merchandise was destryed.

Nice work, Clearit. Freightos isn't much better. They did nothing to help. None of their rsponses were substantive. Rumor has it that Freightos owns Clearit. If that's true, the above comments are more easily understood.

Nota bene: Clearit's website leads unsuspecting customers to believe that they have 4 and 5-star ratings on Trustpilot. They have a 3.8.

They have a 1.0 out of 5 on the BBB website. Look it up. All 1's. They can't manipulate that.

Thank you for your updated feedback. While we do understand your frustration with the unsatisfactory outcome and empathize with you, unfortunately the decision to ultimately destroy the cargo was that of the U.S. Customs officer handling your case. When cargo is deemed inadmissible due to copyright/IP infringement, it must either be returned to the sender in a timely manner or destroyed. Unfortunately, you were unable to produce permission to import the product in that given timeframe, nor was a freight company secured to return it. Please be sure to note that the POA you are referring to was not that of Clearit, but rather a freight company you had to secure in order to re-export the product. Since no one was willing to ship it back, they would not complete a POA and therefore we were unable to submit it to USCBP. In order to avoid this issue in the future, it is important to secure permission from the IP holder prior to purchase as well as ensure the product packaging is in compliance.

Exceptional Service at Simplifying a Complex Process

I recently ordered an antique Chinese chest from Singapore and had to import it to my home in Oakland, CA.

I had no idea where to start or how to go about filing the paperwork for customs clearance. After receiving a message from the seller in Singapore that I would need a broker, a quick online search led me to Clearit USA. They have been amazing every step of the way, providing me guidance on the next steps and answering all of my questions. Most importantly, the response was extremely rapid and clear with fantastic messaging capability. And all at an extremely reasonable price. I would recommend their services to anyone as they make an impossibly difficult process move quickly and seamlessly.

This was my first time importing a pinball game from Canada. Clear it was so helpful and patient with me. Everything worked out perfectly. I’m glad that was the company my seller recommended.

Overall extremely helpful!

Courtney was incredibly helpful. Her support and resourcefulness made a huge impact, turning what seemed like a daunting task into a manageable one. Grateful for her expertise and extreme kindness. However, if there's one thing I would suggest improving, it would be implementing an automatic email notification to inform customers about weekend closure.

Their customer service cmmunication is awful

Their customer service cmmunication is awful.
My first time importing from overseas and it's very difficult getting answers for things I don't understand. Trying to search their site is very difficult as well and constantly give not found messages.
Even logging in is difficult. If you go to clear it .com, there's no place to sign in just sign up, and they don't have an app. I ended up finding a independent customs broker because it was so aggravating through this platform. At least I get my questions answered right away and and explained.

More guidance in getting the documents…

More guidance in getting the documents entered would have been helpful. Chat and email are the only communication options and the replies were not always within the time limits stated. Once everything was entered, it was smooth sailing.
