WORST customer service ever, Faulty product

The machine itself is great, IF it works. We purchased a Clmbr and paid for the white glove installation service. Immediately when we started using it, it had problems. The screen had a delay and the videos and/or analytics would freeze. You'd have to restart the machine and hope that helped. We called customer service and were told to check our wifi connection. (We have screaming fast wifi in our house, but went through the steps anyway.) No improvement. Over the next 2 years (no joke) we reached out to customer service so many times I can't even count, explaining the problem, which got increasingly worse. Over and over and over again, when we weren't just flat out ignored, we were told to reset the wifi connection on the machine. It didn't matter to them that we had gone through the same steps numerously and it hadn't solved the problem. FINALLY, 2 years in, we got a customer service rep who admitted that there was a problem with the display itself. But, guess what? The machine was too old now and they weren't making it anymore, so they didn't have replacement parts. Their solution to ignoring us for 2 years? A discount on a new machine. We could give them more money. Absolutely disgusted by this company. Do not give them your money. They don't back up their product.

Really wanted to love the CLMBR....but customer service SUCKS when it stops working

Really wanted to love the CLMBR. It was great at first. We bought 3 of them. It feels fairly cheaply made when in use, a little rattley. PRO: It is a great workout! CONS: The belt must have gone out after a year (meaning the resistance stopped working).
We reached out to customer service knowing it was out of warranty, but asked to pay for parts and service. They NEVER followed up until a year later (after we made several attempts to reach them) stating they no longer use the same manufacturer, so parts and service are unavailable. They offered the CLMBR 02 for $1700 as their best offer. WOW....and we still pay their monthly subscription fee for the other 2 CLMBR's. DO NOT recommend to purchase this machine. It will be a total waste of money to use for a year at best. The only reason the other 2 work still is because they are rarely used.

Climbr is bricked, company won't do a thing!

We put ours into storage for a year to go traveling, and when we came back it wouldn't work.

The company told us that there had been an update ("during that time the software system managing the device switched (>1 year ago), and the old system was turned off (a couple months ago).").

As a result, our Climbr *can no longer even turn back on*, and the company tells us that there's nothing they will do about it apart from selling us a brand new Climbr ("at a great discount").

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HIGHLY UNETHICAL COMPANY.

DO NOT BUY A CLMBR. Horrible warranty, horrible customer service--especially now that my warranty is up.

I've had mine (1st version) for two years ... replaced entire machine w/n 1st six months. However, one year warranty (all that was offered back then) only covered from date of purchase, not from when I received the new one, and had to pack up the old one and send it back. Skyler, who is their technical guru, is great, but handcuffed to their horrible warranty. W/ the 2nd machine that was sent (still their 1st version), Skyler had to coach me through adding resistance based on cable adjustments internally that increased the magnetic resistance -- no way the general population using these machines would be able to do this on their own.

Now, the plastic pulley in the left tower physically broke and the only way to fix is to replace w/ a new tower. I'm six weeks into a conversation w/ customer service and now getting ignored. I haven't even received the offer of upgrading to the '02' version, which I absolutely wouldn't do, at this point.

If you're looking for a climber, choose the VersaClimber; better quality, better longevity, better customer service.

DO NOT BUY A CLMBR!!

I really loved my CLMBR1 until CLMBR said it can't be repaired.

I really loved my CLMBR1. In December (2023) it quit working so I contacted the recommended repair facility in my area (North Carolina). This company had installed my CLMBR. They came out and contacted CLMBR and requested parts to repair my unit. CLMBR informed them that they no longer carry parts for CLMBR1 units.

Good product concept needs a lot of work

Good product concept. Machine mechanical sound software is not. Lots of issues with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Company seems to not be financially sound in long term since new software features and bug fixes are not being added to the platform on a regular cadence. Membership monthly is pricey and the machine cost today is overpriced.

Do not buy CLMBR

From day 1 getting this machine was a mistake, customer service either is extremely busy or does not care. I waited months ,my delivery date was pushed back .Customer service continues to say they are working on getting the problem solved.
Waiting more than 3 months +,I also purchased additional insurance.
NOW they do not use the warranty company anymore,
stuck with this machine. The machine should be life time warranty ,to elude all the problems.

They claim there sending me a refund ,because of how poorly my situation was handled.
No updates no response..
Horrible customer, thought I found something worth it to much money...

If I can give zero stars

If I can give zero stars, I would. Do not purchase this machine unless you plan on not using it. We had it delivered 2 months ago and it has been sitting in our garage. We have been getting the round around about having someone come out to install it. We are now in the process of returning it, no sense of keeping something we cannot even use.

Hello. i wanted to wait a bit before writing this review because i wanted to really put this machine to the test. i have surpassed the 300 000 feet mark. Yeah!!! This is by far the best machine i have ever used !. i have had it since april 2022. This machine is solid, heavy and well built. No ajustments since i put it together myself. i have the first model and i wished that the resistance would be a litltle more challenging but that was upgraded with the 2.0 model ! if you wanna sweat from your head to your toes...this is the machine for you . Super happy with the purchase. 5+ stars

Doesn't Meet the Customer Halfway

EDIT: The repair (after having the machine for 1 year and 2 mos.) will be ~$800(!), so it looks like we'll no longer have a CLMBR in the gym....I have the CLMBR in the gym that I own. It gets used about 10x/week because we're a small gym and only a few members use it regularly. The belt broke on it, 2 months after the warranty ran out. CLMBR suggested it was due to "overuse." It's designed to be used in gyms who have CLMBR classes, with a much larger volume of members than we have, gyms in which it may get used multiple times/day. How could our usage of it even come close to possible overuse? In using some troubleshooting videos they sent us, we found that the part that holds the belt in place was over-tightened when installed (they sent their own installer for initial set-up), as were all of the other pieces shown in the videos. The video specifically said "do not overtighten this part." As a result of this over-tightening, our belt snapped last week and now we have to pay for a new belt and to have a tech come out to replace it. I spoke with Becky(?) on the phone who refused to do anything except send us a quote for the part and refer us to techs in our area who could install it. She talked around me, kept saying that the warranty was up and they were happy to send me a quote, blah blah blah. I asked her to compromise (which is what any good business does for its customers--I do it all the time) since we believe the overtightening caused the belt issue and they don't want to admit that. "There's no way to prove that and the warranty was for a year, not a year and 2 months." I absolutely figured they would at least pay for the part itself! Nope. They will do nothing to help except send me a quote for the part and a list of techs in my area. So I have to say-- don't buy this machine, in case something similar should happen to you. And now I don't trust them as a company--any company that refuses to compromise when there is a question of responsibility is not a company I respect. Would you rather feel that you're right, or be happy and have a happy customer? They choose "right," and that is wrong!

I have had my CLMBR for almost a year

I have had my CLMBR for almost a year. In that time, I have discarded my best-in-class rowing machine and spin bike since they were less effective and fun. Because the CLMBR workouts were so effective, flab was replaced by toned muscle. Also, with just CLMBR workouts in the last year, I was recently able to run with people over 30 years younger than me in a competitive Ultimate Frisbee game. That was fun and a surprising bonus.

Some reviews have mentioned wifi connectivity problems. Those reviewers do not mention if they experimented with temporarily moving the router close to see if it was too far away, items in between were interfering, and/or other nearby routers were swamping the signal. My router is 30 feet away with a refrigerator in between, and several nearby routers. Works fine.

The unit is complicated so assembly is difficult. I believe very experienced and/or hardware-savvy people should be able to assemble the units, which would prevent many assembly complaints. For example, the trick of not tightening until after the parts are assembled may prevent complaints about holes not aligning.

CLMBR SUPPORT IS A++++!!!!!!!!!! Love them

There are a LOT of reviews for the unit/company which are bad... and I get it to some extent. My first unit (v1) came broken. When this happened I was upset and wanted to just return my order.

After I called support Becki made everything right! Not only did I get a small refund as an apology but I also got 3 months of free membership AND got a new unit sent out immediately. They never made me wait longer than 24 hours for a response and never had me on hold when I tried calling in. Easy to get a fluent english speaker who is kind and listens to your problems.

My second unit has worked well wo any issues so far. I also pre-ordered the V2 of the CLMBR as it seems to have fixed a lot of the issues V1 has. But, V1 is still very fun! My only complaint is the resistance levels at max aren't that "high" compared to the Versaclimber. But this doesn't mean much as the V2 increased the resistance by more than double from what I heard...

I love this unit and company and classes! If it wasn't for the quick help of the support team I wouldn't have given it a second chance. I am happy I did though :) I'll probably post a YouTube review of my unit after a few more weeks and do a comparison with the v1/v2 when I get the new unit in the coming months.

I've been a distance runner and pilates…

I've been a distance runner and pilates enthusiast my entire life and will tell you that I have never seen results like this. I used to wake up at 5AM to try to get in the caloric burn that I do in 30 min with this machine. More sleep + less time wasted on workouts that do not work = results.

I will not lie to you- it's a hard workout. Even so, it's a modality that will not work against your body. I'm sore, but it doesn't hurt my joints. I've followed some of these instructors from other workout app platforms and will tell you that if you put in the time, you will see change.

Had some issues with installation (I ordered through a third party), but clmbr's customer service was quick to jump in and resolve. Will update if things change during my CLMBR journey.

LOVE the CLMBR!!

I cant say I like my CLMBR, I absolutely love it!!!!
I have a home gym that includes a Peloton, treadmill, rower and Fight camp bag. At this point they are collecting dust! The classes on CLMBR are a lot of fun with great music and the instructors are very engaging.
The only thing that I hope improves is that they will offer more 30 min classes on a regular basis.

What hasn't gone wrong?

I'll start with the only good thing: thus far, CLMBR customer service hasn't been unwilling to at least hear me out and my concerns. That said, that's currently where it stops with where we stand now, and issues keep popping up.

First, it's a two-step process with delivery and setup in a lot of the country, including where I'm at. That can be very frustrating because it creates extended wait times for scheduling.

Problem #1: My initial delivery date (August 10th) was a complete no-call/no-show by XPO. Upon calling XPO, they just wanted to reschedule me a few weeks later. Completely wasted a day calling off work to not have it delivered. CLMBR was able to push XPO to have it delivered on August 15th instead of August 29th.

Problem #2: Because it's a two step process for setup, XPO wanted to schedule my installation for September...meaning a gigantic box just sits in my house for weeks. This is where CLMBR customer service was able to assist and get my installation moved to August 22nd.

Problem #3: I ordered the summit package, which included a huge bundle of items. CLMBR never shipped these out...their claim was warehouse issues because they were moving around. Nonetheless, really inefficient way of going about logistics.

Problem #4: Installer arrives on August 22nd and about 75% of the way through installation realizes the machine I received was defective and had to stop install right there. We contacted CLMBR and XPO. No resolution outside of needing to now schedule a date/time for XPO to pickup the partially assembled defective machine....then schedule a NEW delivery date for a replacement machine....then schedule a new assemble date. What a crapshow.

Problem #5: CLMBR/XPO is now unable to pickup the defective machine until September 19th!!! In what world, does a company not go into full damage control mode after all this crap that has gone on? At this point, CLMBR is just giving me more or less "we'll let you know" type of responses to the situation. So I'm stuck with this defective machine taking up my basement, and a large empty box that I cannot throw out due to them needing it whenever the machine is picked up (September 19th??).

I Just want a working and operational machine and it's beyond pulling teeth to get there! With issues like this, I cannot recommend CLMBR to anyone and need to make this stuff known. Hopefully CLMBR realizes how badly they are erring in this and come up with a quick solution. The executive team needs to get involved, because clearly those who are trying now, while helpful and friendly, are totally unable to make it happen.

I have a lot of experience in connected fitness purchases, with two Pelotons and a Tonal....so you'd think CLMBR would really want to make a customer satisfied that is all-in on connected fitness products. This has been the absolute worst.

I just received my third CLMBR machine

I just received my third CLMBR machine. The tempo and power metrics continue to spike into the thousands which completely skew the averages, meaning there is no way to truly track progress / improvement. The third machine was set up just like the second one by XPO. I do not think they know what they are doing. Question: how could the same problem be found on two CLMBR’s, number 2 and number 3? To me, this means there is a structural problem with the machine itself. Unbelievably frustrating as I come up on over 200,000 feet of climbing. This must be a pervasive problem, which is why CLMBR is unveiling a new design machine (more resistance and few other new features) at a huge discount- only $995 for existing customers. I am disappointed in CLMBR’s transparency with this problem and lack of overall expertise in fixing it. For the record: The first machine: the belt broke at 150,000 feel. The second machine: the metrics spiked like crazy per above. CLMBR sent another XPO technician who had no idea how to fix it and proceeded to take the monitor from the firs machine and put it on the new second machine, which did not fix the problem. So CLMBR sent me a third machine- and the same XPO individuals put the third one together, and the same problem. Super duper frustrated.

Do not waste your money

Do not waste your money. This machine is consistently frozen and the customer support blames it on the customer. We installed a router in the room of our gym and the machine consistently resets. we also have tonal with zero issues. buy tonal.

Amazing

I got my CLMBR back in January and honestly love it. I started with some free climbs since I wasn't really a group fitness person; however, I ended up taking a class during my trial period and haven't looked back- I just completed my 200th class, have lost almost 20lbs and have gotten seriously toned. The content is fire, and makes it so much easier to push yourself.

I received my climber last Thursday. Then was notified via email that I am in a 2 part zone. Delivery being part 1 and set up part 2. There has not been any follow up emails to inform me of a date or what to expect.
Sadly I pass by my big box of fun on the daily… while I read great reviews of the actual machine….customer service “HELP!!!”
