Put your Trust in Clutch

My experience with Clutch from start to finish of the process was simply lovely.

It was easy to use their website and get in touch with their agent.

Reaching their office and giving my car to them was hassle free.

Id recommend clutch to everyone and anyone who asks me where did I sell my car and how did I manage it.

MVI Was Unreliable: Sent Me An Illegal Fire Hazard

First, their online financing didn't work at all. Server issues and it had to be done manually via email. Which is fine.

BUT, when I received the car, I felt a bit distrustful of Clutch's MVI and I am so glad I was. My distrust was completely correct, as after having Speedy auto do a brief inspection, it immediately failed. Of particular note was the blatantly leaking fuel tank.

This had been marked as inspected a week before I received it. I had it for under a week. I drove it four times, to the grocery store mostly. The tank still shows as full. So the MVI, as far as I am concerned, was not actually performed adequately by Clutch and they sent me a dangerous, illegal to sell or drive, fire hazard.

Worse, their customer support doesn't even seem to understand that this is a major problem. Their solution is that I:
- book my own towing
- book my own inspection
- book my own repairs,
- Book my own MVI which they aren't offering to pay for. Who knows what ELSE is wrong??
- Book my own rental car

And I'm "pre-approved" to be reimbursed at some indefinite time. They have specifically refused to do any direct billing whatsoever. I am to foot all the costs of their negligence for them.

Listen: sending me a dangerous automobile with an MVI that absolutely has to be re-done doesn't make me the bank. As I said: if they ignored this, they likely ignored other problems and now I'll have to get the entire thing re-inspected: or just send it back.

I wouldn't even get to drive it for weeks, and be out of pocket the whole time. Clutch's employees have been, and I'm using this phrasing to be clear, not competent at their work, and do not seem to even comprehend the issues. They have rendered no assistance. None. They did nothing at all.

I've reported this to MVI Nova Scotia, as well as their regional managers.

After repeated calls, they "claimed" to not be receiving the email where I rescinded the contract, despite having sent it to four sources and CCing MVI Nova Scotia. I reminded them that I had done so and suddenly they had it and knew it's contents and spoke to me about it.

A layman might hear that and suppose that the Clutch representative was being untruthful.

I managed to get Clutch.ca to take it away, but they intentionally disregarded that this was NOT a standard return, I rescinded the contract due to being sold illegal, dangerous, improperly inspected goods.

My experience at clutch

This was a surprising quick, hassle free experience. I followed the instructions to completed the online questionnaire, I received a phone call to established a drop off date and time and supplied the requested documents online. Dropped off my vehicle on said date and time, and before we could finish our coffee the car had already been checked out, the offered amount was then immediately deposited to my banking account. All in all it was a very satisfying process, specially for people who are pressed for time and want an easy way to dispose of their vehicle. Mr W. Ahmed attended to us and I must say, what a thoughtful and kind young man, and so good at his job. Thank you clutch!
