When I first came across software mastery and dragos youtube channel, I was immediately drawn in by the great content. But just like any programming youtube channel you subscribe and check out the information and learn from the great content and you move on right ?.

Not the case with Dragos, he was clearly trying to do more than just create a great youtube channel with good content. He was trying to help developers, but I’ll be totally honest we’ve seen it all before. Developer bootcamps, crash courses, secrets to the industry you name it there is always someone online trying to sell their ideas to you.

This is where the common experience changes, alongside his youtube channel. Dragos would also send a weekly email newsletter, (again super common) but wait. Each email, Dragos would discuss a commonly faced developer topic. I was already in employment when I signed up and never felt the need to take the dive, but as time went on I kept reading his emails, and each and every time I resonated with what he was saying.

Like seriously, I thought I was the only one who struggled as a developer to progress, but literally every email spoke to me. Buttttt still I didn't think it was worth getting in touch with him, I thought “hey this guy is talking so much sense, and it really does appeal to me, and yes, i would like to step up to senior level.” but I was too sceptical. I just couldn't commit.

Fast forward a month or so, and I’m greeted with the worst news Redundancy! Three years I worked for this company, it was a greenfield project that worked on from the ground up. I joined the program to close certain knowledge gaps and gain a more architectural mindset. The reason behind that was to become more confident in my job as a freelance developer and getting more into the direction of a fullstack developer.

When I started this course I had somewhat patchy full-stack experience and knowledge. This training filled in the gaps, giving me much more confidence in my job.
