Avoid unless you are prepared to chase your money

I ordered three portable air-conditioning units from Cold UK, costing nearly £800 in total. Despite receiving confirmation of my order and payment being taken, none of the units ever arrived.

I contacted Cold UK repeatedly over a period of around two months. Eventually I requested a refund and was told that it had been arranged, but that there was a delay because they were extremely busy. Despite further contact, the refund never materialised.

I eventually had to raise the matter with my bank, who investigated and issued me with a full refund. The bank is now pursuing the company.

The last contact I had from Cold UK was a request for my bank details so that they could apparently process the refund. As my bank was already dealing with the matter, I did not provide these.

The invoice was also issued by a Hungarian company, despite the business trading to UK customers as Cold UK.

I'm relieved that I have ultimately recovered my money but the whole experience was extremely frustrating. I would strongly recommend exercising caution and making sure you have adequate payment protection before ordering.
