24 years and a month ago my wife and I were given a pair of Cole & Mason salt/pepper mills for our wedding. After 21 years these died and, without any hesitation, we were back to John Lewis to buy replacements of the same brand... unaware, then, of the lifetime warranty on the grinding parts that had failed.

Fast forward 4 years and our new pepper grinder started to misbehave and when it was nearly empty we noticed that a small component in the grinding mechanism had failed. With 21 years being our "should last this long" reference to beat I looked up what the warranty said and found that the griding mechanism is covered for life.

I contacted Cole & Mason UK Customer Service Team who replied within a day, apologising that our model was no longer current but offering a full RRP voucher so I could visit their online store and order a replacement pair (even though only one was broken).

I know that we backed a good brand and was more than happy spending the voucher and 'upgrading' with £40 extra to the second-from-top-end Derwent precision mills.

Katie and Phoebe understood the mission and I found a complementary refill for the salt and pepper - an early silver anniversary gift! 😊

I LOVE when a lifetime warranty is worth its salt. Cole & Mason belong in a very special group of brands that I am very happy paying the premium to use, and encourage others to do the same.

What wonderful customer service this company has. I had a problem with a gifted pepper grinder which was resolved very quickly.

The box was a bit squashed but product intact, it is good, can use it ok with my arthritis

The extra tall Salt & Pepper mills are just great. They look good in the kitchen and on the dining table and are fully adjustable to dispense just the right amount of salt and pepper.

Great pepper mill. Reasonably priced, good range if colours

Excellent customer service in respect of a pepper mill which had broken and was out of guarantee from John Lewis.
A replacement mill was provided without quibble for one which had failed after 18 months use.
One star deducted for the initial design of the mill which meant that when it failed, bit of plastic fell into the sauce I was making.

Wonderful customer service and the communication was great as well.
I had an issue with the salt mill, not the pepper one. Emailed the customer service team and got an immediate acknowledgement, followed by a detailed query regarding the issue in next couple of days. Phoebe was very understanding, helpful, and prompt in responding emails. The complete set was eventually replaced due to the mechanical fault and warranty, thanks for all your assistance.

Lovely kitchenware.
I bought the Derwent Mills, they look great and grind well. Really happy with the carbon steal mechanism on the pepper mill.
Will they stand the test of time?.... I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Fabulous company- replaced my salt and pepper mills with no quibble after they went wrong- lifetime guarantee is definitely honoured ..

My complaint was dealt with promptly and I was happy with the outcome. Couldnt ask for more.

We contacted Cole and Mason hoping to get a replacement spare part for an old pepper grinder. They have sent a complete new grinder.

Super customer service! Got in touch with them recently because my pepper mill broke which was a shame even though I’ve had the set for a few years . Same day reply asking for photos, details etc which i sent followed by another prompt reply informing me that a replacement mill was being dispatched. Very happy with this service and looking forward to many more years of seasoning !
Update…… first contact with them was Tuesday, received my replacement on Friday! Outstanding service!!!

Truly amazing service. Lost knob on my old pepper mill, eventually saw make underneath so contacted customer service to see if could source a replacement knob (which I had many times looked for unsuccessfully on ebay etc). Replacement immediately sent out free of charge, no questions asked.
