Went to cote last week had a lovely time with the family although my steak came out slightly undercooked staff were very nice about the issue and fixed it quickly.
We had the most glorious night at Cote in Ealing. The food was superb as always. I had the beef bourguignon and my partner the burger. Both first class.
But the biggest highlight for us both was the simply extraordinary service from Paulo. He is, without doubt, a walking masterclass of a visitor's experience. Always there but never intruding, glasses were filled when no one was looking and he was funny, police and charming. If not for the food, we'll be going back to see him. Utterly wonderful evening from start to finish. Thank you Paulo!!

The service I received at cote was appalling. I was overcharged on my order and had to argue with the “manager” explaining to him that he had charged me twice for the same item. I had ordered refill fries and I believe knowingly charged me for 2 separate servings based on his attitude and the waitress had looked very uncomfortable when giving me the bill and later when I enquired about the double charging so I’m fairly sure she had been asked to do it. Eventually he agreed he had made an error and refund me. He then offered to refund me twice (I had already paid as I hadn’t noticed the over charging) there appeared to be an error with the refund and I tried to confirm with him that I hadn’t been charged twice instead of refunded. He assured me I hadn’t, however when checking my bank statement the next day I could see that I had in fact been charged twice for the already inflated bill. I called to ask for a refund and ended up speaking to the same person. He assured very rude and told me it would take a few days to resolve, and when I asked to have the details for the complaints team he hung up the call. (When I was at the restaurant he had immediately admitted I had been overcharged and offered me a refund when I had asked for the complaints number. Overall I’m disgusted that a company would hire someone who not only tries to scam their customers to compensate for a quiet night, was so rude, and tried to stop customers from
make complaints. I also heard some of the staff members calling him a “prick” as they left 😂 so I guess I’m not the only one who thought he was awful. The food isn’t that great either.
We visited Cote in Bury St Edmunds on 15th May having booked a table several weeks in advance. When we arrived and said we had a booking the lady who greeted us immediately greeted me by name which is very unusual as lots of restaurants almost seem surprised that you have booked.
Initially our order was taken by one member of staff and then another took over, this staff member was called Emily N and what a star. She was young, confident but not cocky, knew about the food and was 100% professional - if I ran a business in Bury St Edmunds I would have offered her a job and if she's not manager at this branch very soon I would be surprised!
We had a great meal, well served, I was very confident that food that needed to be was gluten free too.
Emily N was particularly helpful when I asked her about the app and having downloaded it I achieved a reduction on the bill - always good.
I think the 10% service charge added to the bill is rather "London style" and would encourage Cote to pay there staff better - however I was very happy to pay it as we had excellent service and great food but if it had not been added I would have left more as a tip!

It was not warm or fresh but toasted and hard, no butter and not enough bacon, could not finish it far too dry. When I complained, no apology. I was told they put the butter on before toasting!!! Who out there butters their bread before toasting? As a regular its really put me off going back, not just the disappointing food but also the service which seems to have dropped.

Booked a table at Cote Reigate for my birthday meal and honestly wish we’d gone literally anywhere else.
Both mains were dreadful, starters were average. Restaurant empty!!!
The “sirloin steak” arrived looking like dog food — full of gristle, tough, chewy and completely inedible. When we raised it, the manager Ivan actually told us that because it was sirloin it was “supposed to be gristly and tough.” Incredible standard to defend in a restaurant charging premium prices.
My salmon was equally awful — tiny portion, massively overcooked, no béarnaise sauce as advertised, just a random drizzle of hollandaise instead. The broccoli was mouldy, the plate was drowned in rocket, and the whole dish felt like something thrown together with zero care.
We sent both mains back. The restaurant wasn’t even busy, so there’s really no excuse for food this poor. What made the experience even stranger was the manager openly admitting they’ve had complaints before and even recommending a different Italian restaurant around the corner because the food there is “excellent.” That probably tells you everything you need to know.
Ruined birthday meal, terrible food, defensive management and absolutely not worth the money. One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time.
Would not return. Disgraceful!!!

I've been asked to contact Cotes so they better understand what happened. I have emailed and await further information. The food was awful. The Manager, Ivan, was rude. When folks are watching their pennies, going out is a treat. This was a birthday occasion ruined by poor quality food and unprofessional service. Diners will vote with their feet! Many restaurants are screaming out for customers!

What an appalling expensive my friend and I made yesterday.
Staff rude, uninterested in, couldn't be bothered...
My friend and ordered the Steak Frites
2/3 were fat and gristle
The frites were cold and apparently there was endless frites accordingly to the menu.
The green salad was completely wilted and inedible, wilted leave doused in oil. Was gross
Then when the came to collect our plates and saw everything left
He said so sorry not our standard the meat is fatty, grisly and overcooked !
His words!
He then intimated that his manager was offering desert as compensation
That was not the case
When then bill arrived I was charged
£9.75 for a glass of 125ml however when I checked the bill I had been charged for 175
Awful food awful service and deception over bill
Cote do not care at Waterloo branch as it a transition trade their will no return business
But I know not go to my local Cote's based on our experience last night
Disgusting horrible food, which we did point out but they were to busy having a fag and gathered in a huddle

We vistied Cote in Sloane Square in Chelsea and were served by Helena - she made us feel very comfortable, advised us well on the menu options and checked that everything was Ok . we had ordered tea to come with our dessert and often restaurants bring 1 before the other - she ensured that both came togther. I told her that we were served by Helena the greek Goddess as she was so nice
The food was good too !

Agree with most reviews. We had dinner in Cambridge Cote on Friday night. Very poor presentation. Over priced at £200 for four of us. Not once asked if we were happy with the food and service. Not even sure a manager was on duty. Very disappointing as Cote always been one of our favourites.

Staff - clearly VERY understaffed. Those that were on duty were a delight. Helpful, good humour despite really trying circumstances.
However, what on earth has Cote done to the Calamari? It used to be THE BEST - crunchy breadcrumbs and generous garlic, lemon and parsley sprinkled over with a good garlic mayo. A decent portion, too. This was clearly from a freezer bag and looked like onion rings. Oily. The dressing was industrial thousand island. Not good at all.

The food was expensive and the half roast chicken Arrived dry with a little portion of rocket .sauces are extra no vegetables unless you pay for them .my beef bourguignon was good but a small portion.

Most of the food was of indifferent appearance and quality, and the overall price represented very poor value for money. The restaurant was almost empty - in central London on a Saturday evening - and lacked any atmosphere. We are unlikely to be going again.

Really disappointing visit to Cote Teddington.
All the dishes except the French onion soup were really bad.
The Beetroot dish was terrible mushy and tasteless and the quality to both out Steak frites was poor.
The steaks were tasteless maybe why that is they cover the steaks with a large lump of garlic butter.
The service was good and staff polite, that's why they have been given 2 stars

Booked a table to celebrate my daughter’s birthday with their steak offer. When we arrived they had run out of steak. Not only that, they had also run out of beer. Not good! The food we had was OK apart from the re-heated chips. We left disappointed.

We booked a table for 3 for lunch at 12.45 on a Saturday in the Cambridge restaurant.
We were seated at our table and menus were given. After 10mins I had to ask for some drinks as no one had come to the table.
Another 10 mins went by before we were asked for our food choices.
We eventually got our starter at 1.40 almost an hour after we arrived.
We waited and waited for our main course again asking when it would arrive, and were told we are very busy with no apology for the delay.
The main course arrived at 2.15.
The 2 fish dishes were dry and inedible and we did not eat them.
We asked to see the manager who when she did come to the table was rude, argumentative and refused to address our complaints, and again no apology.
Needless to say we did not pay the bill.
Overall it was a very poor experience! We would hesitate before visiting again.

I had booked into the St Alban's branch for my birthday meal with my mum, and chosen outside seating on the booking screen when making the reservation online. On arrival we were actively discouraged from sitting outside due to "cold weather" even though I expressly said two times that I had specifically booked the outside area. The weather in St Alban's today was very warm and sunny, far from cold. I suspect the refusal to seat us where we wanted to sit was actually because the waiting staff couldn't be bothered to wait on outside tables and inside tables as it's a lot of walking. Secondly, I booked for my birthday. Nobody mentioned it. In London branches, which I've eaten at many times, birthdays are always offered a free glass of fizz. I ordered the non alcoholic fizz hoping that was the case in this branch but it appeared on the bill. However, the food was great, and both wait staff were great. But the welcomer was rude, dismissive, and did not want to seat us outside even though I asked twice and reminded him of my booking, and forgot to mention my birthday to our wait staff. I will not return to any Cote now because of this experience.

Well, we stopped coming to Cote after the last menu debacle (pasta and chips instead of French food)
I have to say, the belly pork was amazing but the manager was just awful. We were waiting for ages to be seated and ignored. The manager took our order but we had to flag down a passing waitress to ask for some wine.
Belle was amazing . She recommended an off menu wine and was so invested and interested in the diners.
The food and Belle were incredible but such a shame about the awful manager! Not sure we will come back :(
