The site flags so much that is absolutely innocuous and obviously not in any way shape or form pornographic, and it is very aggravating to constantly be getting alerts and notices that your ally has visited some inappropriate site only to find out that they have been “shopping on Home Depot or something similar“ it’s ridiculous and definitely not worth $19 a month

Covenant eyes has been a huge part of a life change for me and without accountability and the caring of the people involved with covenant eyes and victory, My struggle would be much worse, so I think you all from the bottom of my heart and pray that God continues to bless this program and all the people that are involved. There are very few things that are helpful in the attempt to quit pornography, covenant eyes and victory are the best way by far second to prayer and submitting to God and allowing him to work in one’s life.

Covenant Eyes provides a solid feedback environment to trusted partners in peoples' fight against internet pornography use. The value is not so much in the web filter, which can be circumvented with sustained effort, but the trusted advisor notification which will ping your accountability partners even when you have used back-door browsers to view porn. It will notify that your "safe" browser has been inactive, prompting the conversation.

Bothe the "safe" browser and the inactive notification have deterred me from headlong dives into darkness and detrimental effects. Though imperfect, CE provides me the protection amd accountability I need to walk my faith out.

Covenant Eyes has been a huge help in keeping me accountable online. The app works well and really makes a difference when it comes to staying focused and living with integrity. Their customer service is also top-notch—friendly, quick to respond, and always willing to help. I’m really thankful for this tool and the team behind it.

Sadly doesn’t catch the photos. We tested it on iPhone and it only caught 1/5 explicit photos. Everything was followed and on as it should but it was very selective what it picked up.

App does what it’s supposed to I guess but what sucks is a price gouge every year! Every year the price goes up substantially. supposed to be trying to help people but I think they just wanna help get their second and third houses bunch of price gouging thieves!

Covenant Eyes uses very invasive practices, such as forcing proxy routing and then applying blockers to utilitarian sites for peer-exchanged information like reddit's message boards, they also employ tactics that while well-intended can actually break their customer's Internet access. The quality-of-life experience seems like an afterthought and it shows to powerusers and IT professionals who are accustomed to certain experiences. They use a "man-in-the-middle attack" method to block reddit's otherwise valid certificate by injecting their own, fake certificate data to basically invalidate legitimate access to the end user.

I understand what they are trying to do but it's extreme. I thought it was a monitoring software, not preventative. As an I.T. professional, I find its tactics egregious and overreaching. I know how to get around this so they should find a way that plays nicer because damn--it's a bit much, ain't it? I find the whole experience heavy-handed and I notice the performance hit and the latencies for connecting now.

it literally makes me want to improvise a competing solution that is more flexible because a "one size fits all" mentality is a lazy solution.

Covenant Eyes needs to take into account I.T. professionals and allow them to find a customized solution that doesn't employ such extreme tactics as blocking access to reddit. Reddit has many channels that exchange professional knowledge and have nothing to do with pornography.

I like the Product/service however, the cost seems to be GOUGING. $18 per month, $184 per year, or $850 for a one-time lifetime purchase. Isn't this alleged to be something that helps people keep their commitment to God and avoid Sin? Seems to be a CASH GRAB more than anything.
For comparison You can get Microsoft 365 for $6 per month which is substantial array of software & service. Or you can get internet service for Verizon for a tablet for $8.50 per month. This service should cost a lot less.

I am my son's accountability partner, Personally I don't have issues with porn. My son looks at suggestive anime pics. We've had the service for prob about two years. I had questions about being notified when my son is looking at inappropriate sites. CE told me I have to check the Victory App to see if he is looking at something inappropriate! I asked why I can't get notifications. She said it was because CE does not support PUSH NOTIFICATIONS. For something my son is paying $200 yearly for I would think that is something they should have. I told them I was unhappy about this and they said they would bring it up to management.

They didn´t refund me the money, despite 30 day money back gurantee. I couldnt even install the software on windows. Stay away from that program! There are better ways to abandon Porn like PAA Community!

First off, I would like to say that the most excellent part of this app is by far the customer service. They are always happy to assist and explain the software thoroughly and effectively and with an upright and ready attitude. Being that the Ingenius method of accountability and loophole prevention comes as number two just shows how much their customer service excels. This may sound like one of those automated reviews (that I never personally thought that I would be writing, ha-ha. It's rare that I have little to zero problems with any given website): but I can't give record of a single problem I have had yet with this program that hasn't been solved with complete attention. Real people with a real initiative to help people struggling with an often times under looked struggle. If you are worried about loopholes and workarounds, don't. If there is any loophole, they have found it and are on top of it. I wish I knew all the names of the people I have spoken to thus far as to leave a good review on their name. The latest representative I spoke to, however is named Angela, and I would like to leave a review for her excellent service and hospitality.

As an adult, I purchased Covenant Eyes to keep myself accountable to my wife for my iPhone and Windows use. My wife had never before known about my use of porn, so it had never been an issue between us, but I felt that I should get Covenant Eyes and let her know that I wanted to live porn-free. She agreed to be my partner. But I soon found that my privacy was being violated in ways that I hadn't anticipated. Not only were screenshots of porn-free, informative sites sent to my wife, but so were images of Word documents that I was working on. I wouldn't have cared were my wife looking over my shoulder, but I felt that having these screenshots of my writing and research taken randomly, without my knowledge, and sent without my permission was too invasive. The same thing happened from my iPhone: screenshots of documents that I had stored and consulted from Dropbox were sent to her. At this point, I was ready to uninstall Covenant Eyes, but my wife was immediately notified when I requested the necessary uninstall code. Yes, I was busted--and my wife did not approve. So, I reconsidered. Then, I started getting notifications on my iPhone that the Covenant Eyes vpn had turned off and that I needed to tap twice on the notification to turn it back on. Sometimes I could tap twice, but usually the notifications disappeared before I could tap once. I'm not a technology person and I don't understand anything about vpns. But I figured that, for one reason or another, the vpn on my iPhone was turning on and off, seemingly at random. This went on for several days. I knew better than to make the least attempt to outsmart Covenant Eyes, and I wasn't about to try to sneak in a little porn while the software was blinking (so to speak). Yet, my wife was getting these notifications too. When she confronted me, I spent ten minutes trying to defend my innocence only to then find that I had to defend my honesty too. Too much! Covenant Eyes did not help my wife to trust me. On the contrary, its tactics hurt her trust in me.

Too hard to get rid of even after cancelling the account. Also not one of the "explicit" scenes it caught actually were. Not worth the headache or the money.

First, let me just say I like the concept of Covenant Eyes. It is a voluntary software designed for people who desire to be clean before the Lord and completely transparent. A good guiding principle is the psychological term, ‘you’re as sick as your secrets’.
I first signed up for Covenant Eyes about three years ago but didn’t even use it 24 hours because it required using Covenant Eyes as my search engine. I had 500+ websites on my phone that I need for my work 30 to 40 times every day. It would’ve taken me 40 hours to reload all the user websites. So I canceled it.
It was at a time that we were caring for two dying parents transitioning to hospice of my wife and myself, and I just didn’t have time to call Covenant Eyes to get a refund.
I didn’t catch it till two years later that they were automatically re-billing me.
I did call Covenant Eyes and was told that I would get a call back regarding the refund. They did that for the third year, but not for the second year. No one ever called me back.
If had read down far enough, I would see that they did state in their licensing agreement that they automatically bill each year $180.
They have taught me that it is subscription companies that put this in their contracts as a default. I didn’t know that at the time.
I have always felt that contracts are written unfairly in the favor of the Party who’s attorneys write the contract.
I signed up again for Covenant Eyes just in the past two days. I now don’t had to take all the time to reload all the websites that I need for my work. It seems to be working properly. I haven’t really tested it to know if it is working well, but it is there as a guard rail for me.

I have seen it criticized on ‘Wired’ for being ‘shameware’. I think that is unfair to Covenant Eyes.
In their article, they claim:
“I’ve never seen anyone who’s been on one of these apps feel better about themselves in the long term,” says Nicole Praus, a scientist at the University of California, Los Angeles, who studies the effects of pornography on the brain and the spread of disinformation on sexual health. “These people just end up feeling like there’s something wrong with them when the reality is that there likely isn’t.”

I am also a scientist, and a physician, and I 100% disagree with Nicole Praus. When I discuss something like Covenant Eyes with a patient, I tell them, ‘no Christian, who truly understands the gospel, understands that no one has the right to shame another. We all have shame in breaking God’s covenant rules. I then tell them that ‘every individual has one to five addictions to make themselves feel better, to control something, to comfort them - alcohol, gambling, workaholism, they’re perfectly manicured yards and gardens, their sailboat. Everything in life that takes a priority above Christ can become an idol, even if it is something designed for good when that becomes more important than Christ.’
Everyone who has been comforted by the ‘high’ of something which displaces Christ, knows this to be true in their life.

I support the work of Covenant Eyes. I would recommend it to anyone who can afford it, even if it comes at a costly expense, if it gives them the guard rails in their life to protect them from not going down a path that they know is harmful to them, or harmful to their wife.

The current version of Covenant Eyes software, I think has been refined and seems to be relatively seamless and reliable.

I would give Covenant Eyes five stars, I just felt since I didn’t use the software for even 24 hours that they might at least credit me partially, for the $360 that I was charged by them for automatic billing at a time that was probably the most stressful time in my life. I also run a business. And when I’m aware that something has been done wrong business, I try to make it right. They have what appears to me a very rigid, money flows in One Direction only policy. Legally, they are right. Just make sure you read their whole policy. That’s the only thing I take issue with.

It was a really bad experience i never do that agian, i was waiting for hours

Cancelled my service, had the program removed, but months later the log in screen reappeared and is impossible to get rid of. Every 5 seconds it is asking me to log in. When I try to move the program to my trash bin it tells me that it is unable to move due the program being open..what?? Support only sends me a screen shot of scripts that don't work. Pathetic.

We have been working with CE over 10 years..it is most helpful detecting spouses porn use and foundation for discussion on how to deal with the root of the problem. Yes you need to phone them cancel but that to keep spouse using porn from getting rid of it with the accountability partner knowing. Not a cure all but the best out there to dealing with problem

It's a billing scam that's basically malware. To cancel your subscription, you have to email their support. To remove the malware from your device, you have to get an uninstall code, and I couldn't even kill it to remove it from the Activity Monitor. Software itself works decently well, ran into a few issues with the VPN, but it's so difficult to remove that I would never recommend it.

Look the software doesnt work perfectly all the time.
But if you have problems, like me, this product is a life saver.
Sometimes the software doesnt work pefectly.
Like this one site doesnt load any images with this installed.
But that is a site that sometimes has explicit content.
If you are committed to change, sacrifices has to be made.
