I purchased two Coway Airmega 150 air purifiers. Overall, I am very happy with the units. They are quiet, effective, and perform expected. However, there is one significant issue that prospective buyers should be aware of. Each new Airmega 150 comes with one Green True HEPA filter, one carbon filter, and one permanent pre-filter. According to Coway's recommended maintenance schedule, the carbon filter should be replaced every six months, while the HEPA filter should be replaced annually. The problem is that Coway's replacement filter set costs $56.00 and includes one HEPA filter and two carbon filters. Since the original unit only includes one carbon filter, you'll run out of carbon filters after the first six-month replacement. To continue following Coway's recommended maintenance schedule, you'll need to purchase a second $56.00 replacement filter set just to obtain the additional carbon filter needed before the HEPA filter is due for replacement. This means you'll have to spend an extra $56.00 per unit sooner than you would reasonably expect. While the Airmega 150 itself is an excellent air purifier that I would recommend, I believe Coway should either include two carbon filters with each new unit or change the replacement filter packaging so that it better matches the recommended maintenance schedule. As it stands, this is an unnecessary and frustrating extra expense for customers.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Really not happy with Coway

We purchased two of the Cowaymega air purifiers at the end of June 2023, because of the great review on Wirecutter. We purchase the AP-1512HH for the bedroom and the 400/400S for the living room. At that time I purchased extra filters knowing that the price of everything is going up. There was a coupon for getting a discount on filters for the next 5 years. When I changed out the filters I noticed that the tag on the charcoal filter was blank and it was really difficult to put in and then I couldn't take it out without destroying it. We don't smoke or have pets so the filters lasted longer. This year I went to purchase filters and they said they discontinued the coupons and wouldn't honor it, they are so expensive plus, in reading the reviews there are numerous complaints of off gassing or horrible smells that don't go away and filters that don't fit...too tight. I am chemically sensitive and will get an instant headache or lose my voice with those smells and they claim the smells won't hurt you. I'm so disappointed and will just purchase a different brand that doesn't require expensive filter, but this was an expensive waste of money. This company is unreliable and they don't follow through on what they say.

Customer Service and website are a CHALLENGE

I bought two air purifiers directly from the company. The purifiers work fine, but there is ALWAYS an issue with their website and customer service is a waste of time. First, I was to get a discount code for registering the 1st product, didn't get a code. Called in, they gave me a code which said it was already used. A year later I bought a second purifier, and same thing, never got the discount code for registering. Now when trying to order filters, their system won't let you manage the subscriptions. So last time I had to cancel the subscription and restart one which negates the discount. And now despite the subscription saying i can "order now" it won't process the order. Instead it actually skips the next order so now I can't get the subscription discount until 2027. Customer service is no help. To top it off I also realized the date on the US subscription site is in the British format so it says that my next order is 12-9-27, but really it will show up Sept 9, 27.

Worst Customer Service in Existence

I like the product.
Tho customer service is the worst I ever experienced.
Website wasn't functioning correctly, was guaranteed they'd register my product on my behalf. Didn't happen.
Asked for a promised "welcome-gift". Didn't exist. Told me they'd ask and then get back with an answer. Didn't happen. Contacted the service 9 months later again. Ignored every single question and told me to register my product.
NEVER AGAIN

This is the worst company you can ever…

This is the worst company you can ever deal with, I bought one of their warter purifer. I tried to order the replace filter online and it kept saying no shipping option available, plase contact customer for assistance. I was promised to be called back once the issue is resolved. Of course they never called back and I have tried this in the past 3 days already.

Very good support under warranty

I'm probably one of Coway's biggest fans. I have 5 Coway air purifiers in my house. They look nice, work quietly on lower speeds and are energy efficient. Almost the only time you need to notice them is when you wash the prefilters around once a month in the sink and see how much dust they've picked up.

Unfortunately I noticed one of my air purifiers was making an unusual sound on one of the speeds so I contacted Coway. The air purifier was still functioning normally otherwise. Dennis at Coway Europe reached out and asked for a video of the noise problem. This was sent to the engineers at Coway to study. After studying the problem it was all fixed within two weeks.

I was struck by the high quality of the customer service from Coway Europe and their responsiveness. I've been a long term user of Coway's products and now pleasantly surprised by the customer service.

Dreadful company to deal with

Dreadful company to deal with. My air Mega has failed completely after only 6 months and their representative Dennis, says that I can only receive advise if I send videos of my actions with the unit. It is still well within warranty, but that appears useless, as I do not have the knowledge, facilities or friends to take videos. I am told that that is company policy. It is totally unfair as noone knows that in advance. I purchased through Amazon, so am hoping that they can have success with this appalling company. My strong advise is to avoid airway Mega like the plague, as the hassle of trying to deal with them is unbelievable. I am an 82 year old lady with limited recources and I expect expensive items to last for more than 6 months and for warranties to be dealt with fairly.

Never order directly from Coway

Never order directly from Coway. They have the WORST and NOT RESPONSIVE customer service. They never answer the phone and barely address emails. How could so many sites recommend their products when it’s such a nightmare to return something. Awful customer service.

The worst company on the planet! I received the wrong filters for my Airmega air cleaner. I contacted the company via email several times to no avail!

I have filed a complaint with the BBB.

Please think twice before ordering anything from this unscrupulous company!

Never Ordering From Coway Again

I ordered the Airmega 400 Thursday last week directly from their website.

I immediately decided to cancel the order about 10 minutes after I ordered it and went through the return process of emailing and calling the support line. A ticket wasn’t started until I waited on the phone for an hour to reach a representative. The support was friendly and told me she would try to cancel it. If it started shipping already, I’d get a free return/refund. I checked and there was no way UPS would even have the package yet, so I said okay.

Forward a week later, all of a sudden I get an email saying UPS has made a tracking label and has obtained the item from the manufacturer. It was definitely not cancelled.

I follow up on my support ticket again and wait another hour to get through the support line to try and cancel it. They told me again I’d get a free return if it arrived but they wouldn’t be able to give it before then and provided what info I would need to send to get it.

The package eventually arrives and when I go to send the information they told me to - it turns out they actually closed the support ticket and I can’t respond. I tried opening a new ticket relating to the old one requesting the return and providing all the information previously requested and it was immediately closed with no response.

Absolutely terrible support from the company and I’ll be issuing a chargeback on the purchase.

I was actually looking forward to getting a Coway, but they’ve definitely lost a costumer forever at this point. It’s too much of a nightmare to deal with them.

Highly unhelpful. Do not buy from them.

They made a mistake with my order, i have it all written in an email as proof. However, they do not help to resolve it. I am going to take them to small court if they dont resolve my issue and refund my money.

Conway customer service is terrible

Conway customer service is terrible. Placed an order on a friday but realised I made a mistake and emailed to cancel 3 hours later.
Got a shipping notification on Tuesday and emailed immediately as it said label created. Customer support said they can't cancel and that i will have to ship it back for refund.
Contact once I have it and they send me a single shipping label for 3 boxes. I emailed to confirm that I only received a single label and was told to use it on all 3. The courier they picked also only had location 50 mins drive from me to drop off. Requested a common courier like ups but was told I can only use this courier. Drove 50 mins and dropped off package. Courier calls me next day to inform. Me I need 3 labels and that they can not take. Have called and emailed a dozen time but all I'm told is management is looking into it but given not time line and refused to speak with management. Asked for a callback today from Romeo ( supervisor) and not call back.

DO NOT BUY

We purchased the mega400 in Nov 2021. First impressions are good. Then the reality unfolds. I noticed that the seat was cracked after only 2 years of use. I am 270 pounds. I contacted customer service to find out about replacement parts. None are offered. I am out of the one-year warranty. I was told you are out of luck. So No I would not recommend this product. The washing part works. If you can not sit on the throne what good is a $400 water jet?

Coway have unsafe shipping practice

Tl;dr Coway is not a reliable company, has poor customer service, and will not reimburse or send a replacement for a delivery they botched

The company did not let me know when it had been shipped, so I wasn't expecting it. When I checked to see if it had been shipped, I found out it had been delivered. The confirmation photo shows a Coway box, clearly marked as an air purifier. The delivery driver didn't knock or put the box into a less visible part of the porch. I've received many packages at this address in 6 years, and this is the first time anything has been stolen. When I contacted Coway, they said it wasn't their fault because it was delivered. I would argue that not shipping it in a brown box, and not letting me know it had been shipped, they bear responsibility. I also blame UPS, who also take no responsibility. Just a word of warning.

Customer service needs big improvements, extremely rude

I bought the coway mega 1512 hh. So far that's great. The carbon filter died after 6 months and you only get one when you buy the entire air cleaner initially. I called customer service to see about buying a set of carbon filters. I realize that you have to buy an entire filters replacement which includes the hepa and two carbon filters. I wanted to know if I could purchase a carbon filter aline. The guy was extremely rude. I said there's nothing wrong with the hepa filter right now so why do I have to discard that if it has a possible 6 months of life left. He said that's what you have to do and you can't run the machine if the carbon filter is bad. So a rip off initially I guess. This is the second time I've contacted them about a question. They were also rude and short the first time. Had I known this even tho the air cleaner has a good review and it does work well, I prefer decent customer service that answers you questions and doesn't act like it's an inconvenience.

I have got a coway AP-1008CH

I have got a coway AP-1008CH. It works great, as far as I can tell. The only issues are the cost of the two other filters, as well as the cleaning process of the first filter. It can be challenging to get the dust out, even when using a vacuum cleaner first and then water.

Defective and poor customer service …

They sent me a defective air purifier and then fiddled around until I was outside of their return window. I am sure I will get a canned response in regard to this review. However, this WAS a good company. I was recommended to them. Good thing word of mouth is better advertising.
