I brought my autistic son to Craig’s barber shop for the first time today and it was honestly the best experience we have ever had when getting a haircut! Craig is so understanding and patient that it made the haircut experience much more comfortable for both me and my son. I will never take my son anywhere else for his haircut now

I went in expecting to be on my phone the whole time like I usually am at hairdressers and ended up spending the whole time chatting. It was super chill and welcoming, prices are amazing, and I got exactly what I wanted (which I don't always at other places). I'm autistic and queer and wasn't sure I'd find a good place when looking but it was amazing there.

I honestly can’t thank Craig enough for how he was with my son today. Bobby is 3 and is autistic. I have previously taken him to a barber where I had to sit him on my knee and hold his arms so he could get his hair cut, it was distressing for both of us. The experience at Craig’s Barber Shop could not have been more different. He totally let Bobby take the lead, understood his needs and instantly made us both feel comfortable. Bobby had a great time playing with the toys and came out with a very smart haircut too, couldn’t ask for more.
Couldn’t recommend Craig enough, thank you ☺️

Craig was amazing with my neurodiverse 5 year old who is also highly sensory. Brilliant haircut and not a tear in sight! Thanks Craig!

My son is austic and struggles with hair cuts and today was the first time he has had his hair cut without becoming upset/frustrated. It was a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and we can’t wait to come again. Craig was lovely with Ethan and followed his lead. When Ethan became a bit fed up near the end, Craig wasn’t phased at all and understood how Ethan felt. I would highly recommend Craig.

Couldn’t recommend Craig enough. Our son really struggles with haircuts, but Craig was so laidback, understanding and patient with him, giving him reassurance and praise and we managed to get a pretty decent trim in just 30 minutes. We’re really happy and would recommend Craig to anyone. We’ll be back as soon as we can.

Had our 1st appointment with Craig , my 3 year old boy is autistic and nonverbal and gets super overwhelmed in new places or with new people. We travelled from Liverpool and Craig was brilliant , really catered to his needs and even though he got upset ,as a parent I felt it was a safe non judgemental environment. Was well worth the journey and actually loved his haircut, already booked in to go again.

Amazing place for my little boy to get his hair cut. From start to finish, everything was calm and welcoming. Would not go anywhere else now!

After many attempts to get my autistic son's haircut we were recommended to Craig by a friend. Usually my son hates his hair being cut with clippers or scissors and gets really distressed. Craig managed to not only cut his hair beautifully but also kept him calm. By the end he didn't even seem particularly bothered about Craig cutting his hair. Booked in again as it was a fantastic experience.

Craig is just wonderful with my ASD son. He originally came to the house to build trust up, and now my son is quite happy to go to Craigs shop and get his hair cut there. The patience and compassion Craig shows is priceless. Highly recommended.

I finally braved booking and attending a cut for my son who is 4 with autism.
Honestly Craig is the most professional,calming and knowledgeable barber we have met and believe me we have met a few!
Craig’s barber shop is fantastic for all ages and diversity.Craig is very knowledgeable and gave myself and my child support throughout his cut.

We travelled 1hr 50mins and we have booked in once a month for the foreseeable as it was well worth it.

Craig you are amazing and I am so thankful you have made a space for those who have more needs and support.

We brought our 6 year old autistic son to Craig’s today with his teacher tagging along to help because it’s been so difficult to get him near a barbershop, let alone actually getting his haircut!
From the second we arrived our son was happy to just walk in and explore.
Craig is amazing, he managed to cut the wild mop of hair that has barely seen a brush in the last year never mind a pair of scissors.
The biggest difference is that Craig just lets the children be themselves and he works around them, rather than them having to sit and stay still, they can play and move around and Craig somehow still manages to get a haircut going.

I wasn’t sure what to expect as we have tried numerous barbers and hairdressers but I wish we had found Craig sooner!
Booking our next appointment now, definitely worth the 45 minute drive!

I absolutely could not recommend Craig's Barber Shop more. After struggling for years to find somewhere and someone suitable to cut my autistic son's hair, we have finally found the place. A day that usually ends in melt downs and tears was actually left with my son asking to stay at the shop and waving happily as we left, something we never thought we would see. Craig is fantastic, empathetic and in the words of my son "gentle and slow" - Thank you Craig!

My 4yr old, non verbal, autistic son went to see Craig on Thursday. My son is very fussy about people touching his hair. His hair was almost to his bottom. Craig was fantastic with my son and waited until he was comfortable and playing until he started. My son is very energetic so was moving about for most of his hair cut. Both Craig and my son done so well. We now have almost sort back and sides after just the 1st visit. Already booked in for our next appointment. You have the patience of a Saint, Craig. A very calming and relaxed place.

10/10 highly recommended.

We took our autistic son along this morning for his first trip to the barbers and had the perfect experience with Craig.
He very much took our son's lead whilst he played with some magnets he loved and worked with him as he moved around. He's got an excellent selection of toys so there's definitely something for all kids to engage with.
It's obvious how much care Craig has for making sure everyone regardless of their needs can have a hair cut. We re so grateful to have found somewhere where our son is so comfortable and will be returning regularly now.

We visited today with our son, who is 4 & has ASD. His hair had got so unruly recently because he does not like to even step foot in a hairdressers usually. We are unsure if it is the sounds, smells or the fact that they are usually busy & the barbers are usually in a rush. We booked in for a long slot with Craig to be on the safe side but were so pleasantly surprised that it was done so quickly. I think the difference between Craig’s Barbershop and regular barbers is that it’s much more relaxed, the children are able to do whatever is comfortable for them and Craig will follow their lead. We will be booking in for his next haircut very soon!

I went expecting the usual fight that my son has had previously trying other barbers, but instead we had a mostly very successful appointment with a cute looking little boy with a lovely hair cut. The calmness of Craig definitely put my son (and myself) at ease. Looking forward to my son gradually getting better & better in his appointments thanks to Craig. 11/10, thank you so much.
