Mr. Justin McClelland at the Toronto, ON location was Absolutely Amazing! My 4TB HDD died on me while live streaming on Twitch back on Dec.24,23! Thank God! that everything was recovered as it had my whole life in it since Feb.14,2009! Thank-You, Thank-You, Thank-You!!!

The recovery was very good, but this company has a number of annoying (industry standard) practices. First, they lie about providing an estimate: they promise an estimate, but then require you sign up and send your drive in before giving any kind of price. Sadly, this is a normal practice in this field the last decade: this is very annoying. Second, they fail to itemize costs usefully and their most common add-ons to their quoted price are shipping costs (usually over $150). Third, I sent them a 6TB bare drive worth approx $150 and they returned a drive they charged me $500 for. That means they quoted $700 to me but charged me $1400, since the 'recovery' was $700 but then there's shipping, tax, and the absurd cost for a premium (slow) USB drive to replace a $150 bare drive. Fourth, I required (and they agreed) that they return the original drive and they did not.

Still, I give this experience 4 stars since the data was 100% recovered from a drive with a dead controller. I've paid for recovery of more than a dozen dead drives and this is the first time I've had a 100.00% recovery. The total price was about what I expected, but there is zero reason they didn't give me my orig drive back and I had no need of a USB external drive costing 3x what I needed.

Update: After writing this review, I was contacted and told I could return the USB drive for a partial refund. Also, they have shipped me my dead drive, which makes me very happy. I recommend keeping all original boxing.

I've changedg this from 4 to 5 stars based on their follow up. Again, the data recovery was perfect, I hope they can adjust their estimating practices to give a range (even if it's a huge range).

A bit expensive but at least my wife was very happy to recover almost all her pictures.

We encountered no problems with the company and received the full contents of the damaged drive a few days later on new storage media.

DataRecovery.com was able to recover all my files from a damaged internal hard disk drive and return the files on a Western Digital external hard drive. I was able to acquire backup and recovery software from Western Digital and now use the external hard drive as my backup media. My previous backup/recovery methodolgy ceased working so my backups were about 2 years out of date. It was a big relief to have my files recovered. It was a quick process. From the time I mailed my disk drive to DataRecovery.com until the time they mailed my files back to me on an external hard drive was about 2weeks.

I communicated with Justin and he was of great help and promised that if they were not able to recover, there would be no charge. That is exactly how it worked. They did recover all my files. Fantastic at his job. So thankful 😊

You recovered all of both drives for my customer in a timely manner!

Very professional and prompt. Throughout this process, I was kept informed of the recovery process, and of the options for delivery and short-term backup of the recovered information. I chose to receive my data on a convenient solid state drive. I am very pleased and will recommend Datarecovery when I am asked for a data retrieval recommendation. Yes, I would use Datarecovery if the need should arise again.

Recovered from external drive all important files, totally satisfied

Extremely quick turn-around, 100% data was recovered, recovered data was placed on a new drive with the exact same formatting (Apple), and there were no hidden fees or charges.
It may be rare to truly need to recover data from a dead drive, but if I ever need to try recovering data from a dead drive again, I will be using Datarecovery.com Inc. for certain!

Took a little longer than expected. But I got all of my files back

An SSD containing critical files failed (stupid of me not to have made backups, plural) so I called datarecovery. I sent them the drive on a Monday and I had a replacement drive in my hands 4 days later, with every file restored. They saved my business's reputation. Very professional and very fast.

They saved our butt! We had an external HD that totally fried on us and they were able to save EVERYTHING! We had a very critical set of data that would have really put us behind the 8 ball if we lost it, but Datarecovery was able to get a full recover. Make no mistake, very expensive, but worth it!
