Our researchers had an instrument go down with a lot of data that had not been backed up. Datarecovery was able to recover all of the data quickly and without any issues. We are very pleased with their service and will use their service again if needed in the future.

Our Passport portable drive is used as the only data source and locatoon for storage of files when not working from the office. Nothing is actually stored on the laptop.
The Passport showed up in file explorer but there were no directories or files visible.
Sent it to Datarecovery who diagnosed failed read/write heads. They were able to do a full recovery of all the directories and files in the time frame they had estimated at the start.
If we require data retrieval in the future, they will be the first place we go. They were great.

I had a pair of old (Thunderbolt 2) RAID arrays that got fried in a power surge that exploded my electricity meter. Skipping the details of the power outage, I estimate that I could have had as much as 600 volts on my 120 volt house circuits. The manufacturer of the RAID arrays doesn't do repairs or data recovery and said I should just do a web search for a recovery service in my area. My local computer consultant had no recommendation but warned me that RAID arrays can be complex. Mine were level 5. After looking at the reviews and web sites of nearby data recovery services, I called Datarecovery.com, Inc. as it appeared they might have the expertise to deal with my arrays. They're also only five miles from where I live, so I can take my drives (they're heavy) there rather than pack and ship them. They transferred my call to Justin, their RAID expert in Toronto, who listened to my problem and said that they could analyze the hardware and then tell me what they could do. There's no charge for determining what's wrong. After examining the RAID arrays they told me they likely could recover all my files, quoted me the price, and let me decide whether to authorize the work which was labor intensive (i.e. expensive). Since I really wanted my files, I okayed the work. I don't really know all the steps involved. Data is mirrored and striped using four physical disks in my RAID array, so finding where the data for a file is written can be complex. I assume the file directory was intact or it would not have been possible to recover all my files. Anyway, it took only one day for the diagnosis and price quote to come back and three or four days to do the work. (Remember, I had two different RAID arrays, each with the same problem.) I furnished an 8 terabyte SSD for them to copy my files onto. When I plugged the SSD into my computer I found one folder for each RAID array and all the folder names and files in the same hierarchy as they were on the RAID arrays. I'm pleased with the results and the speed with which the recovery was done. And Justin, their data recovery specialist, was very good at informing me and explaining what was going on. As I understand it, the physical work of data recovery is done at whichever of the company's sites you send your disk to, but they all keep in contact to help each other and share expertise.

I brought to Justin and his team my two Western Digital backup drives that happen to crash within a week of each other, leaving me without any backup and even without important work documents. After contacting a few data recovery services, I opted to use this service. I was presented with a worst case scenario and more realistic scenario. Justin and his team were incredible. They suggested that I should buy a NAS and described the benefits of the various system available. I purchased a NAS and drives on Amazon but there are a delay in the delivery. I want to commend the people at datarecovery.com for their excellent service and communication at each step along the way. Each event in my case was logged in detail for me to see in the status updates page, and I was very impressed with the professionalism of their operation overall. From what I understand, my SSD recovery was kind of a worst case scenario that required specialized micro soldering capabilities. So it wasn’t cheap, but they had the people and the equipment that were capable of recovering the data on my failed SSD, and they delivered!

The recovery process was exactly as advertised. I was pleasantly surprised that 100% of my data was recovered. It was reassuring to know that there would be no charge if no data was recovered.

I’ve had an old and broken HDD for ages, with lots of data. I never tried a recovery service before, so after too much thinking I took the risk.

First, the costumer support team is patient, reliable and the answer fast!
Second, the recovery rate although depends of the state of your hdd, for an +10 years old hdd was actually very high.
Third, they analyze my hdd and the recovery price actually wasn’t that high, they even gave me options for the return media and shipment.

After all, the service is very transparent, I do trust them and if someday I have to send them back another hdd.
